1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2025

Driver side door does not unlock.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2024

When driving the rpm will be high but the car will not pick up speed. Many many times I’ve had to quickly put my hazards on when merging onto freeways or busy streets.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2024

There is a water leak on the driver side floor and the body shop can figure out where it's coming from. My vehicle also had issues with the latch due to corrosion. The body shop was able to fix that issue. My navigation system and dash turns off and on as I am driving. The bodyshop can't find any issues with that either. Clear something is wrong with it.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

The drivetrain has had multiple issues since purchasing this vehicle. I have had to have the axle boot covers replaced multiple times - without any reason to cause the boots to tear or mess up. In addition the axle has had to be replaced multiple times. This is a very costly repair and doesn't last very long before it has to be replaced again. We are safe drivers and have no logical reason for this to occur on it's own. There have been multiple problems with the transmission during this same time. I feel that a recall should be issued for this vehicle and would appreciate any help with this vehicle problem.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

I went to open the driver's side door after unlocking the car and the door handle came off in my hand. As a disabled veteran, I need to have constant access to opening my driver's side door without having to maneuver over the passenger seat or recline the seat back to try and open the door from the driver's side passenger door. My wife saw that other 2014 Nissan Rogues had a recall for the same reason. When I reached out to the dealer I purchased the car from, they said my car wasn't on the recall list and I would have to pay $300 for the part and $180 / hr. For labor to get it fixed. We have been in a heatwave this summer but when this happened, I was parked in the shade of a parking garage. There was no visible tampering around the handle indicating that someone was trying to break in. In addition to the driver's side door handle coming off, my wife noticed another recall related to 2014 Nissan Rogues that has happened with out car. The latch holding the hatch door on the rear of the vehicle has become loose and is easily moved. Though it has not separated from the base, there is the possibility of the latch coming undone and groceries or other items in the trunk area to fly out and cause accidents by drivers dodging items (groceries. School supplies, etc. ) that tumble out of the car.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2023

Transmission went out : only had the vehicle for 5 months.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2023

During heavy rain storms the internal gutter under the sunroof fills with rainwater and fails to drain out through the weep-hole drain tubes located in the corners. This backed up rainwater then spills into the vehicle, onto the visors and even onto the driver and front seat passnger's heads. It distracts the driver, runs down and soaks the headliner and posts, and it will sooner or later penetrate the dashboard electrical systems causing all kinds of short circuits and danger. In my case, the dealer, several years ago, cleared out the internal weep-hole drain tubes using compressed air. But it now continues to flood, especially during a sudden heavy rainstorm. (the drain tubes need to be enlarged, and the seal around the sunroof-glass need to be improved).

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2023

In the past, I complained many times that the car was flooded and the driver's seat was shaking. After multiple inspections at the maintenance department of Nissan dealers, the cause of the problem is not uniform, and the service quality is extremely poor. It has not been solved until now, because water often enters the car and the glass produces fog that affects the vision. I am facing danger every day when I drive. I complained again today and hoped to resolve it completely.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2022

While driving my dash gives off a warning my back lift gate is open, my doors will unlock then lock and the warning will disappear off my dash then come back again unlocking my doors while the car makes a beeping sound alerting me the lift gate is open repeatedly while driving. Also, while the car is turned off and parked the alarm will go off by itself when the doors are locked.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2022

Transmission issues.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

I was driving on the highway on my way to work when the check engine light came on in my car. I was pressing my foot on the pedal and trying to accelerate but my car wasn't gaining any speed. It got to the point where I started to lose speed and had to pull over on the side of the highway. When I was pressing on the pedal I heard a pumping like sound but the rpms were not going up at all and the car wasn't moving. Going in reverse did not work either. I waited around 20 minutes for the car to cool down and I was then able to drive at low speed to work. No one but me has looked at the car so far.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

This issue is with my 2014 Nissan Rogue that fell under the manufacturer issued recall r21b9 (NHTSA recall 22v-024). I understand that Nissan has now claimed that this recall has been resolved, but their resolution has not fixed the damage done to my car due to the recall. The r21b9 recall states . . . "in affected vehicles, if water and salt collect in the driver's side foot well, it may wick up the dash side harness tape and enter the connector. If this occurs, the dash side harness connector may corrode. If the connector becomes corroded, electrical current may continue to flow between the connector terminals, potentially causing issues such as driver's power window or power seat inoperative, all-wheel drive (awd) warning light on, battery discharge, and/or thermal damage to the connector. In rare cases, the corrosion could potentially lead to a fire, which may increase risk of injury. " I brought my 2014 Nissan Rogue to a Nissan service center in April of '22 when I started smelling natural gas coming from my car. The service center diagnosed and confirmed that this natural gas smell was due to recall r21b9. The Nissan service center returned my car to me in October of '22 after the recall resolution was completed, however, my car is still smelling of natural gas, and I cannot continue to drive this car with my family breathing in this toxic odor smell. The Nissan service center returned my car and said the issue was "fixed" and there was nothing else they could do to my car to help with the smell. They did confirm that my car still smelled of natural gas. I opened a case through Nissan corporate and they referred me back to the Nissan service center. I got the car interior detailed and the engine cleaned; but it is still has a toxic odor smell. Nissan may have fixed the mechanical issue related to the recall, but the natural gas / toxic odor smell remains, and this is a health risk to me and my family. Again, Nissan confirmed this issue came from their recall.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2022

Got interim recall letter March 2022, no remedy has been provided, wire issue has called drivers window inoperable lights on dash for all wheel drive, airbag, engine light. No undate can be given from Nissan.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2022

I believe it is the transmission (a few others, but not specialists) have told me they thought it to be transmission related, also) I was driving spiritedly and at an intersection came to an abrupt stop. Tried to immediately back up, put it in reverse and only the gas reved. The car would not move. And I checked to make sure it was in gear. And three or four more times and a stop light when the light changed I tried to go and it would not move. L I either had to wait a few minutes, or put it in park and back into drive then it would engage and drive.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2022

Please note that I attempted to report this to Nissan today, but the first call I was hung up on after describing why I was calling and the second call went unanswered. At some point between 01/27/2022 and 01/31/2022, it was reported to me that my vehicle was destroyed by fire. My VIN was verified to be a part of the recent recall regarding salt water entering the driver side floor panel and causing electrical corrosion that could potentially result in fire. I did experience my driver floor board becoming wet, intermittently, after driving in rainy or wet road conditions as was described in the recent recall. The car has been completely destroyed by fire. For more information regarding investigation and vehicle location for inspection, please contact: north charleston fire department 843-740-2620 case# 22-0008846.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2021

Sunroof exploded when driving home on 9/14/2021. There was a loud bang and then the emergency flashers came on without me activating them. My 2014 Nissan Rogue has both a sun roof and adjacent moon roof. State police were called and the associated case number is 21-842-7-21.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2021

Water leakage to the interior.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2021

The driver's side leaks, filling the floor board with water. This is the precursor to the issue that caused the recall manufacturer recall number: r21b9, NHTSA recall number: 22v-024 there was constantly water, several inches deep, on the drivers side floor. The dealership said they could not fix it so I found someone to fix the leak. The recall notice from Nissan says they will pay for repairs. I filed all of the paperwork Nissan asked for on the recall notice. Now they say they won't pay because they do not know how to fix it. I just want to be reimbursed for my out of pocket expense to make my car safe to drive.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2021

When my daughter was driving down the interstate, with a 65 mph speed limit, the car started slowing down. It would not allow her to go any faster than 40 mph. She pulled over to let the engine cool some and continued to have the problem. When we consulted the Nissan dealer, they said it was a “safety mechanism” to keep the car from overheating. I certainly don’t see how it is safe to be forced to drive a speed limit too slow for the interstate. Why is this not recalled? I see there are many more complaints with the same issue.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2020

While driving in the middle of the road at a green light my vehicle shut down . . . In drive. I placed my foot on the break to put the car in park no hazard lights came on. I turned the car off completely placed my foot on the break and started the car up and proceeded to place the car in drive once in drive the vehicle shut down leaving all lights on with no hazard lights. I started the car up again placed the car in reverse the vehicle shut down once again in reverse I put my foot on the break to shift back into park. I came to the conclusion that no matter what gear I shift to the vehicle shuts down in gear not moving.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2020

For the last 2 years in the summer when the temperature reaches over 85f outside, my ac stops working and blows hot air. When the outside temperature is below 85 it works perfectly fine. 2 years my heating also went out in the dead of winter and only blew out cold air. Took it to the dealership and they reset the computer which seems to have fixed that problem. Over the last few days my ac/heating system has made a rattling noise and today it went completely out. I turn it on and the fan doesn't blow hot/cold air. According to multiple online searches, this is a known issue with the 2014-2017 Rogues that Nissan has yet to address or issue a recall on. And I would have to replace the whole system that will cost well over $2000. I live in chicago and being without working heat in the winter is a serious hazard. How many complaints need to be made before the manufacture takes it seriously.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2020

Cvt was determined by Nissan dealership to be manufacturer flaw, resulting in loss of acceleration on hwy, shaking, etc. Cost to replace transmisson body was over $3,000.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2020

The factory-installed navigation system has several issues that make it unusable. These issues include the following: the entire navigation system will randomly restart several times while using it, erasing all trip data; the screen will freeze when trying to use it, making it impossible to change the volume, turn off the unit, or do anything. Brought the vehicle to a Nissan dealership and they denied that the unit had any issues. What's worse is that there are no available navigation or software updates for the 2014 Nissan rouge, and Nissan has no intentions on upgrading anything. The navigation update site says there are no updates available for the 2014-15 Nissan Rogues, but there are several updates available for 2016 and newer models. This is absolutely unacceptable, and has caused several distracting issues while driving or trying to navigate using the built-in navigation that I paid a premium for. Please investigate this further. I'm not sure what else to do. Also, please note that the "when did this happen?" date is irrelevant because this has been an ongoing issue since purchasing the car. I brought the vehicle to the dealership for service about 6 months ago, and they confirmed there was nothing they would do to fix it for me.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2020

Front overhead console fell down during driving to a stop at a city road intersection. It caused quite a shudder and partially blocked visibility. Overhead console appear to be not bolted onto the roof but rather secured by plastic pins, which failed to cause the incident. Depending on vehicle operating conditions, incident like this could cause serious accidents endangering driver and others.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2020

While driving on the expressway all of a sudden glass in my sunroof just exploded. Made quite a noise and startled me. There were no trucks in front of me and no over passes. The glass blew out all over me and the rest of the vehicle. When cleaning it up I could not find any evidence of any thing that could have hit it to make it shatter. I feel as though I was very lucky in this case as I did not get any glass in my eyes and just a very small cut on my hand. I was driving on the expressway at the speed limit which is 70 mph and consider myself very lucky that I was not involved in an accident as a result of it. I called Nissan and they pretty much just blew me off, I think that if this is something that is happening that something should be done to correct it immediately.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/11/2020

In June of 2020 I noticed the smell of mold and mildew in my car, but I could not figure out where it was coming from in my vehicle. Then one sunny day in June I opened my sunroof to be doused with water that came pouring in. I did some investigating and discovered that the drain was clogged, and thus the build up of water. I watched a youtube video on how to clear the clog, and did my best to remove the blockage. I then discovered that there was a pool of water beneath the carpet under the passenger front seat. I called my local Nissan dealer and was informed that there is also a rear drain, that must be clogged as well. Unfortunately I could not find a way to clear the rear drain online. I brought it in to my Nissan's service department, and ended paying $900. 00 to have both the front and rear drains cleared properly. Clearing the rear drain is especially labor intensive, as they had to remove the headliner to get to it, so the labor is long and expensive. Nissan customer service told me there is nothing they can do, as the car is past it warranty date. If nothing truly can be done, then I would like someone to explain to me why I am responsible for water damage to the interior of my car, and the cost to unclog the drains. I have maintained this Nissan Rogue with great care and thoroughly as recommended by Nissan's service menu. There is no mention of keeping the drains of the sunroof clear and the service department never mentioned doing anything about them. I was never given any indication of having to maintain my sunroof drains in anyway. At the cost of $900. 00, the drains now clear, but my car still water stained and smelling of mold. Please help me understand how and why this has happened, as no one else is willing or able to do so, and I am left completely frustrated and angered by this situation.

27 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2020

The liftgate on this Nissan Rogue has continuously failed to remain in the up/open position. Once activated it rises up to allow access to rear but then almost immediately drops 12 to 15 inches thereby hitting the person either on the top of the head or in the forehead. It truly is a dangerous situation and could cause the owner to become unconscious. This happens whenever the vehicle is parked or otherwise not moving. . While this condition has caused a NHTSA recall Nissan indicates that this VIN is not in the recall as the vehicle was produced in a factory different from the recall. Yet the problem with this vehicle is identical to what is described in the recall. The dealership states that it will cost between $1500 and $2000 to repair the faulty struts that are unable to keep the liftgate in the up position. They are trying to put if off as "normal wear and tear. ".

28 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

Water leak in drivers floor board in my 2014 Rogue, which sounds like a common problem with the 2014. It is a manufacturing defect which the dealer said they can't fix. It is been out sourced to the water doctor. I don't think this is my responsibility to pay to fix when I bought this car with this defect unaware of the problem. I started to notice this leak a year ago. I want to know who I can hold accountable for this problem?.

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2019

This vehicle when driven in traffic or at a stop and go area will not accelerate at normal speed. The rpm goes up and the vehicle will not go. However when we’ve taken it to a mechanic or Nissan there is no issue with the transmission and when we turn the car off and the turn it back on the vehicle continues to work perfectly fine. No codes come up on the mechanic reading device and nothing shows as being wrong with the vehicle which leads me to believe it may be a recall. This is not only happening with my Nissan Rogue however it is happened in all Nissan vehicles in general. I ask that you please look into this issue and figure out if it is a manufacturer malfunction.

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2019

Upon cleaning my 2014 Rogue I noticed that my driver side floor was all wet ,thinking I had spilled a coffee or drink I dried the rug , and the following few days after letting it dry after coming home from the store I bent down to see if it was still dry and the floor was wet again the problem still persists . I can't seem to get it to stay dry, I pulled the rug back and noticed it very wet.

31 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

Back bottom brake lights has not worked in a year. Nissan mechanics did a electrical diagnostic and cannot find the problem.

32 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2019

My lift gate shows a warning saying it's I'm open while I'm driving, my vehicle will continue to beep and the locks will unlock and lock on their own. While the warning is going off I can't use lane assistance or blind spot assistance.

33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2019

Car computer was hacked by wireless criminals. He has been able to update my computer, car clock, make my dashboard lights flash after the message rear view camera is unavailable displays on the dashboard. I believe the criminal targeted my vehicle while parked at a public place while I was attending my children.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2018

I've been having issues with water pooling on the driver's side carpet. I brought my vehicle in for service on 12/28/18 and 12/31/08 to have this issue looked at. The technicians said there was an issue with the sunroof drain tube: it had a kink in it. So they replaced that. However, after that replacement, I still have a significant amount of water on the driver's side carpet. I've researched on online forums for Nissan owners, and this sesms to be a known and recurring issue for '14 Rogues.

35 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2018

The touch screen on my 2014 Rogue stopped working due to an internal malfunction per the dealer this should not be happening on a 4 yr, old car and I shouldn't have to pay $4,000 plus dollars to replace it.
