Brake Grinding Noise problems of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. While driving and depressing the brake pedal, the contact heard an abnormal grinding noise coming from the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to enterprise car rental (located at 108-14 astoria blvd, east elmhurst, NY 113692, (718) 672-7631) and the contact was informed that the vehicle was ok to drive. While driving and depressing the brake pedal, the brakes failed. As result, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The contact sustained knee and back injuries that required medical attention. The other driver was not injured. A police report was filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to be driven from the scene, but the brake pedal had to be depressed to the floorboard when approaching a stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for the body damage. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.
