42 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2021

My fuel gauge does not regard fuel consumption nor measure fuel at all. I do not have any idea if I am on empty or half fuel. Fuel indicators just quit functioning and will cost me over $1,100 to fix. The car is 6 years old and only has 50,639 miles.

43 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2021

As I was driving approximately 30 mph straight on a city street my car abruptly shut off completely while in drive. Radio stopped, no warning lights, all electrical seemed to die, power steering and power brakes seemed all to be gone. No dash lights are on. The car started up after trying 3 times without results. It happened once before in a similar situation that I wrote off as a fluke. Now I'm scared to drive it.

44 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2021

I was in a small parking lot for a playground in wayland, MA. I was driving very slowly as kids can come out of nowhere. I found a spot to park on the left, so I turned my wheels and went in. To make a complete stop, I pressed on the brake. Suddenly the car accelerate, and go through the chain link fence, with the engine making a roaring sound. I immediately pushed harder on the brake, as the car went through the fence. The vehicle stopped when I pushed on the brake harder to the floor.

46 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2020

2015 Nissan Rogue completely lost power on a parkway on October 26th around 7pm during a rain storm. Luckily there was low traffic and was able to coast off a nearby ramp however window-shield wipers stopped working and barely able to see. After coming to a stop the car was cut off and restarted. No check engine light or other warnings appeared on the dashboard. After a few days the car had no issues and then it cut off again on October 4th while at a stoplight late at night. I notified Nissan of America of the issue on September 27th and they mentioned there are no recalls or campaigns however I see several reports of the same power failure issue online. Local Nissan dealer has had the car since October 5th and cannot duplicate issue or find codes indicating what could cause the power failure. This is a vey serious safety issue and Nissan should know what could cause the car to completely power off and all control is loss briefly while driving. Car has approximately 103,000 to 106,000 miles and all maintenance has been done along with no previous serious engine or transmission issues.

47 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2020

Simple process: programmed a key , turn into a nightmare. Have to replace a bcm and ecm in order to make a Smart key. The old bcm and bcm are bricked after erased and ready to programming. Manufacturer know this defect but won't put on recall. It affects most of 2015 Nissan rouge and up.

48 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2020

I unlocked my car to get in and then when I tried to start it, it made this clicking sound. The battery turned on so I kept trying to push on the brakes and then press the start button and it still wouldn't work. I did this about 6-9 times and then finally the car turned on. After a few second the a/c turned off and then turned back on. On multiple occasions it doesn't detect the key in the fob. I have changed out the battery in my key fob, I had it looked over by 2 mechanics and my battery and start and engine look good and are in good condition. It happened every time and my car turned off while I was pulling out of my driveway and quickly turned back on.

49 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2020

2015 Nissan rouge a/c is not blowing cold air. Purchased the car 7 months ago (in winter time). Now that the weather is hot and I need the cool air it has not been working I took it in and found that the a/c o rings at evap were leaking and had it replaced and recharged. Still having issues with it. It will not blow cold air at 60 degrees and if the a/c button is not pushed and left on the air coming through has a foul smell to it.

50 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2020

Three times now the car has shut down entirely while driving in traffic. Engine stops running, all lights and power are off, power steering and power brakes are lost. It creates an incredibly dangerous scenario. Car will restart almost immediately but you have to roll to a stop with no power brakes or steering, as I said it's incredibly dangerous. Happens mid-drive, with car in motion, including an instance going 70 mph on a busy interstate. Has occurred three times over the last two months.

51 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2020

Lack or power, hesitation while accelerating, making whining noise and is shutting off plus topped when I was driving and waiting on the light.

52 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2019

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that there was a strong damp and mold like odor coming from the front driver's side footwell location. The contact stated that the front driver's side footwell was continuously wet in rainy weather. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated intermittently. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 22v024000 (electrical system) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the wiring harness under the dash was inspected and lithium-based grease was applied on the wires coating for water protection; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed; however, no failure was found. The contact stated that the recall remedy was not effective since it did not address the water leak. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

53 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

Heat box malfunction it blows cold air from the driver's side and hot from the passenger side I have difficulty seeing in the rain and snow does not defrost the windshield I have had this problem since I bought the car me and my brother and we purchased two identical 2015 Nissan Rogue at the same time and the same dealer.

54 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2019

On multiple occurrances beginning 5/28/20 when driving or idling on a hot day with the air conditioning operating in excess of 40 minutes, the blower remains operational but the air flow to the cabin slowly reduces and the temperature increases to a point at which it exceeds the exterior air in both temperature and humidity. This is dangerous because it makes it difficult to breathe for all occupants of the vehicle. It also sometimes causes a film of condensation to appear on the interior surface of the windows making it difficult to safely navigate. This film cannot be removed with the wipers because it is not exterior. This has occurred mostly during the daytime but occassionally at night, mostly while moving but occasionally while parked. The dealership and independent repair shop have been unable to reproduce the issue (likely due to insufficient drive time). The issue appears to resolve after the vehicle is turned off for several (no less than 30) minutes. The cabin air filter has been replaced and the area cleaned of debris with no appreciable change in the issue.

55 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2019

Ac/heater blower motor not working causing windows to fog up.

56 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2019

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and was unable to be restarted. Once restarted, the vehicle was shifted into reverse and the vehicle stalled again. Additionally, while the vehicle was idling at traffic lights, the rpms would idle at a low rate with the vehicle almost at the point of stalling. The vehicle also hesitated when accelerating from a stop. The vehicle was towed to Nissan of stockton (located at 3077 e hammer ln, stockton, CA 95212, (209) 956-6500) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure occurred six times daily. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.

57 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/29/2019

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the doors were closed and locked securely; however, the vehicle had been stolen and had been moved several times because it appeared anyone with a compatible key fob to the year, make, and model of the vehicle could unlock or move the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the sunroof would not close properly. The contact stated upon pulling into a gas station and attempting to exit the vehicle, the front driver's side door failed to unlock. The contact stated that she was able to unlock the door 30 minutes later after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that no issues were found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was unavailable.

58 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2019

I have already registered a complaint involving equipment failure and safety. My 2015 Nissan Rogue does not have interior heat even when the controls are set at 90 degrees. In trying combinations of air-flows as instructed by my dealer, I had to look down to make sure I was pushing the right buttons. Talk about distracted driving. When I looked back up, I had just enough time to slam on my brakes so that I would not rear end a logging truck (that was about a 1/2 to full block away when I first looked down) definitely a safety issue in my mind. More importantly: last night I was driving home from a night class (about 7 miles). Weather conditions were light snow and light freezing mist. Had my temp. Set at 90 degrees and controls at full defrost and full fan blower. My windshield continued to ice up because of lack of heat to melt the freezing mist. Visibility got so poor I difficulty seeing through my windshield. Tried to control the vision by spraying windshield washer fluid using wiper controls. This helped. I cannot believe there has not yet been recall for this heating problem. Especially since there are so many other drivers that I have read about on the internet that have experienced the same problems of lack of heat. Between being a distracted driver trying to continually change control settings as well as an unsafe driver due to visibility issues as explained earlier, I believe there should be a recall making this a Nissan repair issue rather than a consumer repair issue (cost). I hope you can help me and many others.

59 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2019

Interior heat barely warm with temp set at 90. Dealer reprogrammed air door positions & heat lasted 1 day. 2nd visit to dealer instructed to change flow positions (switch from outside air to cabin recirculation). Windows steamed up; told use ac to dry out air. Would like to see a recall for these safety concerns: 1. Playing around with buttons to change air flow is distracted driving, having to keep looking down to see which button to try next to get heat to clear window steam (driving city blocks or down the freeway while looking at which combo of heat control buttons to try next) 2. With cabin circulation turned on, windows can stam up suddenly like driving thru fog, until I locate the defrost button, but then I lost heat. 3. Safety concern with putting on defroster and not having heat with winter driving; it is scary to have snow falling & although there is enough air to clear steamed windows, there isn't enough heat to melt snow/ice etc. From windshield. Surfing the internet, I see I am not alone with this issue. I also learned there is a service bulletin for faulty or improper operation of hvac. The price to repair this is nearly $700 if the car is no longer under warranty. Although this may seem like more of a "comfort" issue than a safety issue in keeping interior temperature reasonable, but when a person keeps the setting at +90 degrees and the air blowing out is barely warm, when the windows steam up because of improper air circulation, and when a windshield cannot be cleared of snow or ice creating poor visibility while driving, then I believe this is a safety issue that warrants a recall.

60 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2018

My 2015 Nissan Rogue is not heating on the passenger side. I took it in last year and had the blend door actuator replaced and once again this year it is out again. Only problem is this year you are apparently unable to just get that part, you have to buy the whole assembly and its a dealership only item. I have 3 Nissans, this 2015 Rogue, a 2017 murano and a 2016 altima. I love them, but Nissan needs to set up and get this taken care of.

61 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2018

Loss power while driving , radio shut down about one minute late power back on , but clock set to 1am all the radio station you stored was gone , everything need to re-set.

62 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2018

The car had been parked 6:30 p. M. In private driveway. At 2:20 a. M. I was alerted by my neighbor . He had seen through the woods a fire, called the fire dept. He thought our house was on fire and ran over to see if we were ok. It was not our house but our 2015 Nissan Rogue. When he woke us the car was totally engulfed in flames. The fire dept arrived minutes later and it took awhile to put the fire totally out. Nothing remains of the car except the framing. I had purchased this car six months earlier with 20,000 miles. It had just turned 30,000 miles. There was no sign anything was amiss, no warning lights, odd sounds, nothing. We live in a rural area, wooded miles off the main road so I do not suspect this was done by human hands. I can only image this was some sort of electrical short that was slowly simmering for hours. The car had only been driven home (20 mile trip) and parked. The fire occurred 8 hours later. There was nothing flammable around the car. I fully believe the car self ignited during the eve. I called Nissan to report this before I even called my insurance agent. I asked for an investigation. If this car had been parked in the garage I could have also lost my home and my family. I doubt this is an isolated incident, and I fear others my not be so fortunate as to loose only the car and no other damages. The car has been taken away and is to be investigated March 23,2018.

63 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2018

Recall 16v-244 malfunction of occupant classification system electronic control unit: system does not recognize adult in passenger seat. Nissan "fixed" this system in 2016. It may have been working properly before their "fix". It is now not working and has not been working properly for quite a while and Nissan north America will not "fix" it again, as they expect me to pay the diagnostic fee at a minimum. I will not agree to that. They need to conduct the diagnosis at their cost and fix the recall again. This action by Nissan north America smells like a scam. What should I do? last contact with nna was on 2/19/18.

64 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2018

During a cold season, there was fog and ice on the windshield and I turned on the defroster to clear it. The heating function of the defroster failed, and I could not clear the windshield or keep it clear as I drove.

65 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2017

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. While driving various speeds, the instrument panel displayed that the front driver side door was unlocked. The contact stated that it was cold outside and the warning indicator illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to rockaway Nissan (600 burnside Ave, inwood, NY 11096) where it was diagnosed that the failure occurred due to a dent on the driver's door. The contact stated that there was no visible dent or impact to the door to cause the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,115.

66 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2016

Same issue as described in NHTSA id number: 10903208 car does not pick up my key fob. I can be trying to enter my truck and it wont pick it up. I have to take it out my pocket and click the open button. I have been in my car and trying to start it and it wont start. It says key not detected. However, the key is in my pocket. It wont start. I have to take out the fob and re-sync to get the vehicle to pick up the key. Very odd. The vehicle was not on. . . Stationary.

67 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2016

The air conditioning regularly stops working and will blow out warm air. We have taken the vehicle to dealerships and mechanics and they cannot replicate the problem as it requires some period of driving before it will stop working. Sensors and wires have been replaced. Coolant level is fine and this has been happening over the past two summers.

68 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2016

I have noticed on several occasions that my car does not pick up my key fob. I can be trying to enter my truck and it wont pick it up. I have to take it out my bag and click the open button. I have been in my car and trying to start it and it wont start. It says key not detected. However, the key is around my neck. It wont start. I have to hit the button several times. . . On and off. . . To get the truck to pick up the key. Very odd. The vehicle was not on. . . Stationary. The last time this happened was Sunday.

69 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2016

I don't know how to explain other than saying it seems car is not grounded correctly. When I use atms while sitting in car I get a painful shock. Tried several locations to see if that was the problem. Now open door rather than reach through door window. Really a strong shock. The car is running bit either in drive with brakes on or park.
