Failure Date: 04/27/2022

As I was driving on the highway, my vehicle stopped driving forward and operating as if it was in neutral. My vehicle started rolling backwards on the road so I turned into the shoulder. I turned my car on and off to see if it would correct and it did not. Now, the Nissan dealership is replacing the entire transmission.

My 2015 Rogue has a heating issue. The heat is only warm on passenger side. This also means the defrost doesn't work which can cause issues of seeing the road in rainy or snowy conditions.

40 Equipment problem

The windshield wiper recoil off has s leak and it drips into the blower for the heater and freezes. When this happens, the heater does not work at all. This causes visibility issues as the defrost/heater will stop working while you’re driving.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2022

My car vibrates while idling when either air conditioner or heat is on (but only when the car is idling; waiting for light to change and not when moving. When my car was under warranty I reported this to my Nissan service repair mechanic when car was under warranty and was told that was normal. I purchased a car in 2016 and now in 2022 it is still happening. Just need to make sure I’m safe and that car won’t blow up or something. Thank you .

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2022

I received a recall in January 2022 and at the end of may 2022 the parts to correct are still not available?? I have contacted my dealer twice. Why would a company issue a recall and not have the material to repair?.

43 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2022

Had brakes checked because of grinding noise. . Break pads or still new. He said rotors have pits all over them and that's where noise is coming from. Doesn't exactly know reason for it. I never experienced this with any other vehicles I've had before.

44 Equipment problem

Outside temperature sensor indicates -40'f. This causes the ac to blow hot air even when set to 60'f during the summer. It may cause driver or passenger to overheat. Ac problems on 2015 Rogues are the most common problem. Cost to replace ac auto amp. Is approximately $900.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2021

I was driving on the highway with my one year old child and with no warning lights my transmission stopped working the rpms were going out of control and I couldn't drive the car. We were lucky to get out of that situation safely. I contacted Nissan about the transmission codes recall and asked if it would be covered they said yes. I went in with the vehicle and they told. Me the transmission would need to be replaced. The car is in perfect condition and shouldn't have these issues. Specially with no warning. Nissan has tip toed around this issue with me. I did my research and posted to social media to find out so many more have had this exact issue in older and newer models and Nissan has refused to take responsibility for there faulty cvt transmission. They are still putting them in vehicles leaving it to the consumer to fix. These transmissions need to be recalled before more families are effected by this. I have been back and forth with corporate Nissan for a week now and they are telling me in order to see if I qualify for financial assistance Nissan will need to diagnose and fix the car and it is not guaranteed they will help with costs. Instead of fixing the problem they are making me jump through hoops. They know about this issue as the complaints on the bbb are constant and consistent with my situation. Please take my incident into consideration and stop Nissan from producing death trap family vehicles.

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2021

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2021

While driving on I-95, my Nissan Rogue select 2015 was cruising at the speed limit of 70 mph when, all of a sudden, the speed had begun to drop to 65-50 mph. I pressed the gas pedal to accelerate, but the car wouldn't go past 65mph. Over a period of time, I began to hear a strange high pitch whining sound. Later, the speed had dropped as low as 40 mph, I switched lanes, and stopped on the shoulder of the highway. As I parked my car, I smelled the odor of the transmission fluid. As I parked, I began to read up about the transmission issue on the owner's manual as well as online. I later found out that the transmission, cvt transmission, had entered a mode called, "limp-mode" wherein the car limits the speed to a safe driving speed (this case it was 65mph) in order to prevent a transmission overheat. Not to mention, I noticed that my Rogue dashboard shows an air bag light flashing, something that happened recently. My family and I almost got into an accident with the transmission on limp mode. A recent bulletin from Nissan stated the issue with the cvt transmission. We had gone to valvoline and they said that the transmission needed a tune-up. No lamps or indicators showed that the transmission was in limp-mode. The only lamp that was flashing was for the air bag ( there was a recall about that. ).

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/30/2021

This model has a widely known issue with the moonroof leaking/clogging due to a poor design. Depending on the amount of water collected, it can pour inside the cabin on the driver and front passenger. When bright to the dealership (numerous times for the same issue) clogged in the front passenger side, the technicians confirmed that this is a design flaw. I've had water soaking the headliner, coming out from where the sunglasses holder and lights are located, from the front passenger side where the drain is, and along side the passenger side frame. Living in florida, where the humidity is always high, this is a perfect breeding ground for mold and other bacteria.

50 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2021

I purchased my 2015 in 2016 we are in January 2021 and my driver side door stopped working no damage it just wouldn't unlock. I was going to get gas and attempted to exit the vehicle while parked and off and the door wouldn't open.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2021

Apparently, according to my mechanic at jamie's tire in xenia ohio, all wheel drive Nissans are having problems with the rear differential electrical coupler going bad. This causes it to slip and cause damage to the differential. According to him I am not the first with this problem.

52 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2021

The transmission started to fail at 70,000 miles. I am now getting a full replacement at 90,000. I have owned the car the entire time and have been adamant about changing transmission fluid and oil. At 75,000 miles my transmission started to slip at 75 mph, slowing me down to 30 mph on a highway. A snowplow almost rear ended me and there was no where I could go as it was a blizzard. Since and before, it has jerked pretty hard, shutting in traffic and while driving highway speeds. It is ridiculous and dangerous to have this as issue in a relatively new car. It should be illegal to sell defective cars and Nissan needs to be held accountable.

53 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

There is corrosion in the tailgate/latch area. Car locks open and close while driving. Trunk does not open with key fob or from inside the car.

54 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/19/2020

My heating system stopped functioning. I took it to the dealership and it was $536 to repair. That didn't fix the entire problem and it's now $1200 more to fix the remainder of the problem. I don't have $1200 so I'm forced to drive my vehicle without the ability to defrost the drivers side of the windshield. It also doesn't heat the vehicle properly so I'm bundled up to drive it.

55 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2020

Electrical harness wiring back of the engine caught fire while climbing a hilly terrain during rain conditions on the island mountain road of st. Thomas vi (charlotte amalie usvi).

56 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2020

Driving on highway at 70mph when I heard what sounded like a gunshot and then my sunroof exploded causing large chunks of glass to go flying in the air and on the highway behind me. There were no other vehicles in sight.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2020

2015 Nissan Rogue completely lost power on a parkway on October 26th around 7pm during a rain storm. Luckily there was low traffic and was able to coast off a nearby ramp however window-shield wipers stopped working and barely able to see. After coming to a stop the car was cut off and restarted. No check engine light or other warnings appeared on the dashboard. After a few days the car had no issues and then it cut off again on October 4th while at a stoplight late at night. I notified Nissan of America of the issue on September 27th and they mentioned there are no recalls or campaigns however I see several reports of the same power failure issue online. Local Nissan dealer has had the car since October 5th and cannot duplicate issue or find codes indicating what could cause the power failure. This is a vey serious safety issue and Nissan should know what could cause the car to completely power off and all control is loss briefly while driving. Car has approximately 103,000 to 106,000 miles and all maintenance has been done along with no previous serious engine or transmission issues.

58 Equipment problem

61 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2020

I was driving down the highway at 70 mph and heard a loud noise, like a gunshot in my ear. I heard glass falling and loud wind sounds coming from the sunroof. The sunroof shade was closed but I knew the glass had broken. I pulled over and there was a giant hole in my sunroof. I was not near other vehicles when it happened so I knew it wasn't a rock. I was concerned that someone had shot at my car.

62 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2020

On Friday, January 24th at approximately 11:50am, my sunroof exploded on my 2015 Nissan Rogue. Weather was dry, road conditions dry and free of debris. Outside temperature between 52 and 56 degrees. No overpasses were traveled under. No traffic in front of me. Traveling at approximately 60 63mph. I heard a loud explosion and glass fell from the sunroof onto the me, the middle console, both front floor mats, the passenger seat, rear seat and rear floor on both sides. Explosion blew up, not down, with the glass pushed upwards at the open, shattered edges.

63 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2020

I noticed recently that my vehicle's heater is not working properly, when I turn on the defogger/ heater, the passenger side works fine, but the driver's side only blows cold air, which, when living in the north east is a problem on cold days as the window will fog up while driving. Also, this causes me (the driver) to have to resort to wearing a scarf and gloves while driving as it's my side that is freezing. I've done some research and notice that this is a common problem with the Nissan Rogue, and that any attempts to re mediate the problem is only temporary and has been known to happen again. This winter (2019-2020) has been extra cold so I only noticed this now when trying to warm up the car.

64 Equipment problem

65 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2019

4 passengers in our awd rouge (2015), with a panoramic sunroof, were driving on 1-85 from las vegas, nv back to salt lake city, ut on 12/08/2019, in the county of beaver about 30 miles from fillmore, ut, at about 75 mph (80 mph interstate speed zone), when all of the sudden, we hear a loud crashing sound. There were no vehicles around us on the road, so we were all extremely terrified. The car had become very loud at that point, and we immediately pulled over to side of the road. We found that the panoramic sunroof had combusted, literally spontaneously. It was completely wrecked and for no reason at all. We took it to a small service station as soon as we could, but we were in the middle of small towns when this happened. All they were able to do was allow us to vacuum up the glass. A few of us had cuts on our bodies, so we bandaged those up while there as well. We called insurance, there were no other cars involved fortunately, as there were no other vehicles closely around us when it exploded. The insurance company said we would have to pay a $1,000 deductible for the incident to be repaired. Obviously, this was concerning because this was nothing of our doing. This was simply because of the poor design of the sunroof, and has happened to others as well. Nissan should pay for the damage, and in fact, should re-call all vehicles with sunroofs to install a better designed sunroof with appropriate glass. Had we had our soft top inside open, there is no telling what would or could have happened as we were driving at an interstate speed. After reviewing the other stories of this happening, this needs to be rectified immediately for the safety of drivers with sunroofs with this design before something fatal happens. I will be joining the class-action lawsuit already open on this exact scenario that has happened to several other people.

66 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2019

My 2015 Nissan Rogue does not blow the proper temperature out of the vents. One side of my car blows cold air, and the other blows hot air- regardless of whether I am trying to use heat or ac.

67 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

Heat box malfunction it blows cold air from the driver's side and hot from the passenger side I have difficulty seeing in the rain and snow does not defrost the windshield I have had this problem since I bought the car me and my brother and we purchased two identical 2015 Nissan Rogue at the same time and the same dealer.

68 Equipment problem

69 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2019

Hood latch- in motion- highway. The hood will not securely lock into place. When closed/latched the hood can still be moved up and down. It visibly moves at freeway speeds causing distracting line-of-sight and vibrating/shuttering feel while driving. Also causes heighten anxiety for fear that the hood will fly up while driving and cause a deadly accident. I have witnessed an alarming number of Nissan Rogues and other Nissan vehicles with hoods violently shaking at freeway speeds. A simple visual examination of Nissan vehicles at freeway speeds will show that this is a prevalent and widespread problem. Nissan's own instructions state that "the hood should lock into place. " other Nissan products have already been recalled for this and it is a treacherous oversight that this model of Nissan Rogue has not been recalled. Reporting recalls is not an obvious process to most vehicle owners. A low number of reports is not an indication of a negligible problem. Lives are at risk. Action is required.

70 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

Cvt transmission jerks in eco mode each time after releasing the gas pedal, also even when not using eco mode the grinding noise coming from transmission when going down the hill even if you're not applying on the brake pedal, also front passenger seat vibrates when in drive mode and holding the brake pedal at the light, the SUV has only 33,500 miles on it. In my opinion all issues are due to manufactured faulty transmission. According to mechanics consulted was told jatco company that makes transmission for Nissan makes bad cvt transmissions. A friend's dad owns a Nissan also and had his cvt transmission that went bad replaced with a new purchased cvt transmission from Nissan dealership and after about 60,000 miles he's having transmission issues again.
