I purchased my used car 2016 Nissan roug from stg auto dealer address 10325 central Ave montclair CA 91763. Phone 855-637-1975. Engine shakes when ac is on. The vibration is significant when idling in gear (for example, when stopped at a traffic intersection). The problem increases when ac and fan is turned on. Appoitment was scheduled stg service dept. But when I pick up my car from repair. I told them its still shakes. They told me they already change it and its just the way it is and nothing they can do about it. And now a recall for 2016 nisan rouge in my VIN number 5n1at2mn1gc837213. I went to the dealer metro Nissan 9440 autoplex street, montclair, California 91763 phone service dept : (800) 970-0426 . Made an appointment & the service advisor told me to call Nissan corporate because there is no fix for my car on my VIN number. They cannot help me. So told them that what if something happens to me in this car fire electrical is Nissan liable for my safety they replied they dont know and they cannot help me, so they had me exit the dealer. So now im not on a peace of mind driving this car I finance and I dont feel safe at all. So please help.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2021

In April 2021 I purchased a 2016 Nissan Rogue. A few times I noticed that I did not have my seatbelt on while driving which for me, is highly unusual because it is the first thing I do once I start my engine. It is the audible chime that alerts me. I then specifically started my engine and realized that the car did not have a safety belt chime. ( fmvss 208 s7. 3 ) I took it to a Nissan dealer. The technician told me that Nissan did not put a safety belt audible chime in any of their vehicles before 2020. I could not believe what I was hearing. Not only is this feature federal law but, it is also in the Nissan owners manual. It is not a feature that can be turned on or off. It is a federal requirement. Nissan is violating federal law and has been doing so for years at the expense of the american people. I am worried for my safety and the safety of others since it is difficult to discover that there is no audible seat belt safety chime and that it is a safety issue that might prevent one from putting on their seatbelt so that they don’t go flying through the front windshield. Federal law states: “manufacturers have an option. They can either use a seatbelt symbol and an audible chime or the words “ seat belt” and an audible chime”. The audible chime is not an option it is a requirement. The chime is not a feature that can be turned on or off in any Nissan vehicle including my 2016 Nissan Rogue. The consumer needs to know about this missing safety feature as per federal law. I wonder how many lives have been lost because someone just like me, needed that audible safety belt chime to remind them that their seat belt was not buckled and it cost them their lives. There is a reason that the safety belt safety law has two components. A visual and an audible safety belt feature. Federal motor vehicle safety standards exist for the safety of the american people. With Nissan, this does not seem to matter.

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2020

I purchase a 2016 Nissan Rogue on July 27,2019. On August 20 I took car back to dealership and stated that the car have vibration, click sound , the hood was like it was going pop up if I went more than 65mph and was like you had give a lot gas for it to go. The say they check out and nothing was wrong. One day I was driving down and had to push petal all way down and the car was still only going about 20 mph but the rpm was at like 5. Was sacred feeling took car back to dealership and they say nothing was wrong. Then on Jan 1,2020 coming down 95 southbound and my whole dash bored lights came on . I believe it was every single warning light came on. Was told that my abs was bad and it was going cost around 3800 to be replaced. My car stayed at Nissan dealership for over 2 months. Once I receive my car back still complain about the vibration and hood. Again was told since it's no check engine light there's no problem. On July 17 my check engine came on and my rpm was going up to like 5. Drop my car to Nissan to have light check out was told that there's wasn't a light on once they pull my car in shop. Again no answer. On August 8 my car was like I had push pedal all way and it was going like 25 mph and rpm was at 4 but the check engine light and airbag light came on. Took my car back to dealership and was told that it was my transmission. Now that my warranty has expired just the end of July 2020 I can receive a diagnostic if problem. But I have been experiencing this things the whole year I have had the vehicle. I see that there are know problem with these transmissions in Rogue. I see where the warranty has been extended for cvt transmission so why that doesn't apply to my vehicle?.

I just bought this SUV 4 weeks ago and the a/c isn't working. I see a lot of other Nissan Rogues with the same problem. This is a safety issue since I live in nc and it is 96 outside. I thought I was going to pass out on the way home. Please help me get this issue resolved as I see multiple people have reported this same issue. And I can't shell out thousands of dollars for five years until it's paid off.

48 Equipment problem

When I push the gas the car barely moves - literally - and then it will go all the sudden. It has almost caused multiple accidents because I can find no rhyme or reason to when it will happen.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2020

My wife and (3) month old great granddaughter experienced a loud boom out of no where I immediately stopped and made sure the baby and my wife were not injured and then I became very angry that the sun roof exploded like this and put my baby life in unnecessary danger. Nissan says-it is not their fault and now want me to file on my insurance a charge more than 2,100. 00. I have 1 question. . . Does everyone riding need to wear safety glasses now?!! this precious baby could have lost her vision and had possible disfigurement. This is a very scary problem. . . . (help).

Both headlights on low beam do not light up road infront of you although they used to no problem, the regular headlights are so dim it is almost impossible to see without having high beams on. However driving with high beams puts headlights directly in the eyes of oncoming traffic. . Improper lighting is dangerous! when driving at night, I must use highbeams or you can not see far enough ahead to confirm nobody walking on side of road and road ahead is clear. This started occurring at approx. . 40,000 miles, my last Rogue never had this issue. I have not taken to dealership yet but need to now that I see some of the complaints and our issue is not a bulb. There has been no warnings or messages for this issue to repair ourselves we are unable to do so because it's not a blub it's the direction of the low beam lights have changed we do not know what has caused this we just started noticing we were unable to drive at night securely and did not have $ to take to dealership. Yes my car can be inspected if you are able to do so. I will be taking to mechanic ASAP I will upload report. This is an ongoing safety issue.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2020

Bad ac/heater control. Known issue, Nissan service bulletin #ntb15-045e I purchased a certified pre-owned 2016 Nissan Rogue in 2017 is now winter and the heater has failed. I took in in for oil change and brake work, but when I got it back the heater wasn't working and the dealership doesn't have any clue why. They have replace the control senor but that didn't help. They are now claiming it's the hoses/radiator and some other stuff. My heater failing, and not able to defrost/defog my windshield means that I can't see, and if I get stuck on the road I have to heat to stay warm and alive (I travel for work and can be anywhere in the united state). There are a lot of people with this issue for this year and model and even though Nissan knows about it, they have not made a recall on it.

52 Equipment problem

On 11/13/19 at 06:18 a 2016 Nissan Rogue swerved left, then right, and struck a utility pole head on at 30mph. Driver had minor abrasions. Two children in back - both in ff car seats secured w lower anchors + tether. Rear passenger side: 2y2m male in cosco alpha omega elite (dom 5/17/2011) w/ minor injuries - few abrasions, bruises on head, bit tongue. Rear driver?s side: 4y0m male 42 inches (38. 5lbs during last exam, approx 2 mo. Prior) in britax frontier clicktight xe whose ?5 point harness pulled and broke through the plastic framing of the shell?. 4y/o initially crying & whimpering but quickly unresponsive and went into cardiac arrest at scene. Eventually revived, but declared brain dead. Removed from life support 11/15. Autopsy concludes child died of multiple blunt force injuries: acute subdural & subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral swelling w/ herniation, hie, skull fxs, pulmonary contusions car seats remained installed. Evaluated in-vehicle 11/14 by msp officer who is cpst. He noted: frontier installed using la strap which was properly attached, routed, & locked to the vehicle?s las, tether strap properly routed under hr and attached to ta. Approx. 4 in. Of side to side & forward mvmt of frontier. From officer?s report: ?the 5 point harness pulled and broke through the plastic framing of the shell, causing the harness and adjustable portion of the seat to come forward, with the frame still being attached to the vehicle. When the child was first contacted after the crash it was described to officers that he was "hunched over". (britax then uninstalled) I observed broken pieces to include a metal spring and plastic parts on the vehicle seat, underneath the css. These parts were broken from the britax safety seat. Further damage was found to the shell of the seat, to include the harness routing path and multiple locations to the rear of the seat. The adjustable portion for the head protective portion was completely dislodged from the shell. ? VIN invalid.

54 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2019

I recently purchased a 2016 Nissan Rogue s awd with about 30,034 miles on it. The next day after driving about 75 miles it started jerking and stalling in traffic, and having issues going from park to drive and drive to reverse. On the day after, which is today the vehicle would not shift from park to drive and instead of driving forward while in drive, the vehicle started to roll backwards on our side walk with my 6 year old son and I inside. My fianc and I attempted to get the vehicle to shift gears and we were not successful. It seems as if the cvt transmission failed. I immediately contacted the dealership and they came to pick it up via tow.

55 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2019

My vehicle will lose power out of nowhere when I'm driving causing me to not be able to accelerate above 40mph at 4-5 rpm, the gas peddle does not work you can feel the pull on the car there is no power. I need to take my foot off the gas to not blow my transmission but then I drop to about 20mph and on highways or even side roads this is very dangerous and not always possible. Because this only happens here and there (3 times in the last month) and never predictably, the dealership is saying they cannot fix or do anything to the car without the issue happening there under their supervision. As I stated, this is a known issue and well documented from current and previous Nissan owners and everyone's description of the incidents are identical. There needs to be a recall and this needs to be fixed on all vehicles before someone dies. When my I take it to the dealership it states that my battery was bad then recommend me to change the positive terminal so I say I have bought the battery from the dealership and it is still under warranty so they replace the battery then I agree to change the positive terminal since it was under $100. After change both take it back and drive on the freeway and it happens again and I was able to start my car up and take it back to the dealership and they say the fuse was loosed so they release the car to me and it has stalled at night my my children in it and I have to get help and push my car in kroger parking lot and plan to tow to the dealership in the morning. The next morning it starts up so I drive to my friend house to park it there and wait until Monday to take it back, they then this time want me to change the chaissy control and I have told them that is not the problem. I had enough with them so decide to call corporate to file a complaint and now my car is still at the dealership for over two weeks. Ecm change but code still.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2019

-car has 56,000 miles -a few times over the past few months, it hesitates when accelerating from a full stop -yesterday, it happened a lot, and several times I even pushed the accelerator to the floor, and nothing happened. . . Then it suddenly revved and shot forward after a few seconds. Terrifying. -I researched and it's a known issue, but today the dealer said they won't do anything because no error codes, etc. , are showing up.

58 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2019

Driving the vehicle, the hood of the Nissan Rogue is latched but the actual hood will move (flap) when driving over 45-50 mph. This started the same day the vehicle was purchased but was not able to get it in because of wait time at the location. I have went to the place where the car was purchased at carmax, but they said it was a problem that Nissan informed them about and there was nothing that can be done. Nissan told them that there were many other vehicles that have the same defect because of the way the car was made and the only solution was to tighten the hood to a certain extent according to carmax. After leaving the location and 3 days later the hood of my car is flapping and moving even more than before, I feel like this will evetually lead to another problem because you can actually see the hood moving while driving and the person at the carmax location was aware of how much it was moving during a test drive. I have tried to look up information about the vehicle because I was told it was an ongoing problem, but as of now I have not found anything related to the problem I am having. I do not believe it is safe to drive the vehicle in that state because it could get worse and eventually because of the speed of the highway I drive on (70mph us 1 nc) it could possible affect the latch or something else.

59 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2019

Sunroof tempered glass exploded while at a stop light, nothing above me but blue skies. This appears to be a defect of some kind.

60 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2019

As reported now for 3 years that my heat does not work. It’s unsafe and I can not have my children in these cold conditions. I love my rouge but the lack of help repairing this heat issue is ridiculous. I am not paying now $1500+ when I reported this under warranty.

61 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2018

Windshield wipers scrape against the hood of the car when lifted for cleaning/replacing. This damaged the paint.

62 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2018

The car has idling issues and issues with hard vibrations in the front area of the vehicle. The rpm's were adjusted but this did not fix the issue and I was told it is the way the motor sits even though it was not having this issue when I first purchased the vehicle in March of 2018. It does not matter if the vehicle is stationary or moving or if I am turning or where I am driving. This issue persists.

63 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2018

Car only has 63,000 miles on it and the exhaust manifold and sensor in my car went out and my car was properly maintenance like it suppose too. But before then a sensor went out on my car , I never heard of a manifold going out early on any vehicle from any maker not this early and I felt when I bought this car it was already defected. In good faith, I would think the dealer would have check it out before I bought it, apparently not. I bought this car on November 11 and now I'm experiencing problems !.

64 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2018

The evaporator temperature sensor is defected. In 90 degree heat after driving 2. 5 miles in the heat airconditioner stops working. To fix it part number is 2773-4buoa. Nissan refuses to replace part cause computer cannot duplicate problem.

65 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2018

Our 2016 Nissan Rogue was stopped at an intersection at 6:30 a. M. On a city roadway when we heard a loud popping noise and the sound of breaking glass. We opened the cover to the sun roof and the smaller sun roof above the driver and front passenger seats was shattered, but the glass remained intact. We checked the surrounding area and could not find any object that could have struck the vehicle, or people. As seen in the photos, the glass was broken outwards from the car. The weather was clear, and visibility was good.

66 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/11/2018

On the morning of 6/11/2018, while driving on the freeway, I heard a loud 'gun shot' sound. Inspection of my car on the side of the road showed no damage. Driving home from work that night, about 70mph, all of a sudden I heard noise overhead. Looking out my rearview mirror revealed that my sunroof had just shattered and all the cars behind me were being hit with the shards of glass.

67 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2018

When shutting the front passenger door the sunroof exploded. Nissan would not cover it under warranty because they said the sunroof must have previously been damaged. It is on top of the car, nearly impossible to be damaged by any debris from road since it would either hit the windshield or fly over the vehicle, so how was it damaged? not too happy with Nissan since my research led to a website that stated the Rogue was in the top 10 for vehicles with most randomly exploding sunroofs.

68 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2018

2016 Nissan Rogue 2 years old, and transmission slipped already. I have quite a few miles, but spoke to multiple repair men who have said the Rogue is known for that and I bought a lemon car. When I drive and press pedal the car has no power and rpm keeps going up/ down also you can hear a whining in the car .

69 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2018

I see 5 recalls for my car but I get letter from the manufacturer for 2 recall but I do not know what is other three. After I get the letter I went to the dealer and the fixed the air bags. As soon as I drive the car 10 miles, the same thing happen again passenger site air bag sign always show up. 2016 car not cooling properly only the fan running in the car when I turn on a/c.

70 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2018

The hood vibrates uncontrollably when traveling at higher speeds. It is worse when behind trucks. I would think the older it gets that one day the hood will move more and the safety will give way allowing the hood to open.
