This seat is part of recall campaign 24c-002 (unintended harness release). I performed the manufacturer's approved remedy (installation of the fabric debris shield/cover) a few months ago. The remedy has failed. Despite the installation of the shield and ensuring the mechanism is clean, the harness retractor still slips without the button being pressed. The manufacturer's mitigation kit does not resolve the safety defect. The seat remains unsafe for use.
