1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2026

There are two issues with my 2019 Nissan Rogue - 1. Parasitic drain - battery dies if the car isn’t operated for 5 days. 2- door lock actuator - door lock actuator on the driver side door has failed and doesn’t work through the remote. A key has to be inserted in the car or manually locked for it to be locked.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2025

My 2019 Nissan Rogue sport is affected by recall 23v-093, related to the jackknife key potentially collapsing while driving and shutting off the vehicle. The only remedy currently offered is a spacer inserted into the key fob to permanently prevent the blade from folding. This disables the folding feature — a core function of the product — and turns a jackknife key into a permanently extended blade. I consider this an unacceptable fix. It does not restore the key’s intended design or function. No alternate solution (such as a properly redesigned or replacement fob) is offered. My dealer confirmed the “repair” is only the plastic spacer. Nissan consumer affairs escalated my case, but the call was dropped during transfer and I could not reach a resolution. I have not experienced a shutdown incident, but I am filing this complaint because the offered recall remedy removes a core feature and does not constitute a true repair. Nissan should be required to provide a fix that both eliminates the safety risk and restores original functionality.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2025

Driver’s side door no longer locks and unlocks without physical use of the manual key. Car did not experience damage. The locking actuator stopped working randomly and has not worked, resulting in the car being unknowingly unlocked and subsequently broken into.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2025

The car will lock while the key is inside. It also has a security issue that would prevent the car from starting if you lock the doors when you are inside and shut the engine off. Lastly now press lock and unlock will make the car beeps until you unlock it with the fob .

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2025

Constant issue with key fob not registering to car even after replacement of battery from dealership, now my car is not allowing me to lock the front passenger and driver side doors with any buttons but will still set alarm. When backing up my car will stop automatically even when nothing in the way nothing in the camera or on the camera, same when pulling forward it will stop out of no where showing nothing in the way. This caused a problem when I parked and it rolled forward and tore my bumper on the curb. The windows are touchy if they want to roll up some days. Called Nissan they said there isn’t any recalls looked online this isnt the first time Nissan has heard about the electrical problems yet refuse to do anything.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2025

I am first concern with the fact that the cvt transmission is not listed under the “component” section and this concern is a major problem many Nissan drivers are seeing. I would like to additional know how this transmission malfunction is not a safety concern as it tremendously affects the speed and operation of the vehicle regardless of maintenance. I have a 2019 Nissan Rogue sport that recently started to stall at red lights and even lose speed acceleration while in operation. Upon researching what this issue could be I discovered that most 2015-2022 model Rogue have this issue and it associate with the cvt transmission! my question and maybe great fear is why this doesn’t constitute for an immediate recall for Nissan by the NHTSA?! there are multiple reports on this issue to support our claims yet nothing. I strongly advise someone look into this matter before any loss of life happens.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2025

Cooling fan stopped working and this lead to leaking of anti freeze fluid and smoke coming out of car . I was on highway in traffic temperature gauge at max and car started to shake. Called police and called 2 tow trucks .

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2024

Twice the auto braking system has engaged when there was no obstacle to prompt it. Additional electrical issue as well- not recognizing fob and continually dropping the fob pairing.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2024

Car would not accelerate and stopped in mid traffic this has continued to happen and nissian takes no responsibility. After the car goes to the shop the same things happen to it again they never fix the issue.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2024

Hi. I was driving my Nissan car at around 45 to 50 miles per hour and the car abruptly/suddenly stopped in the middle of the road without any warning. I was about to be hit by other cars behind me but thank god that didn’t happen. I am very scared of driving this car now. My kids also drive this car and I am extremely worried about their safety. I am hoping Nissan will do something. Extremely worried and scared.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2024

The part that failed was the cooling fan. According to a litany of google searches, and from a few dealerships, Nissan has known for years about faulty cooling fans and has done nothing about it. My cooling fan went out last night and sprayed coolant everywhere. Not only did the coolant become gaseous as it burned against the hot engine, this poses a huge safety issue as it can cause a vehicle to stall on the highway and become a safety hazard in the event that other vehicles ram into the stalled vehicle, and vice versa. This problem has been confirmed as an issue by the dealership that I go to and yet Nissan has refused to do anything about it. Prior to the failure, there were no warning lamps or signs, until it actually happened and then the check engine light came on. By then it was too late. This issue can cause problems if someone is driving on the highway and are none the wiser. After doing some research, there were class action lawsuits against a few 2013-2017 models of Nissan vehicles, but not for anything beyond that. Confirmed by the dealer, these issues are well known and could be fixed with a recall. Thankfully, my car was parked at the time of the incident, right before I started on a 45 minute drive back home from where I was at. I live in the chicagoland area, where traffic tends to be high and had it happened on the highway, it could’ve caused an even bigger issue to those around me.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2024

I was driving my daughter to school and started hearing a crunching noise, mostly when I turned or stopped. It also sounded like rattling. Once I got to my daughters school the noise became extremely loud and there was a loud bang and smoke coming from behind my car. It smelled burnt. A piece of my car had broken from underneath. After my husband looked at the car he found it to be the rear differential that exploded from under my car. I had the vehicle towed to my house because its not safe to drive. What I am most am concerned about is there was no warning or light that came on to indicate I had a issue with my car that required servicing.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2024

Driver side door look slips and does not lock fully creating a life and safety issue for our families Rogue. This problem was addressed by Nissan in 2015 only, (vehicles manufactured June 5, 2015, to June 13, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the driver side front and rear doors may not fully latch. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 206, door locks and door retention components. "") but this is still an issue and I am having the same problem in my 2019 Rogue. Not sure why Nissan is not willing to fix the problem in additional Rogue years since this is still a life and death issue for the safety of the drivers.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/29/2024

The radiator cooling fan and cooling fan assembly failed. I do not have the failed fan available any longer. The cooling fan failed during a heat wave, thankfully I was at a gas station when it failed. Had I not been at a gas station, I would have been stranded in northern maine with my [xxx] infant, my elderly mother, and my service dog in excessive heat for hours while waiting for a tow truck. My infant could easily overheat and die in such temperatures. This is a frequent recurring issue in all Nissan Rogue sports from years 2017 through at least 2022. Forums for Nissan Rogues are filled with complaints of the radiator cooling fan failing (some at 27k miles and often around 67k miles), many complaints occuring in the laat month. Nissan is aware of these issues, many people having the dealership repair the vehicle and others (myself included) complaining to Nissan corporate itself. The problem has been confirmed by both dealerships and independent service centers. My component was inspected by the service center. I am unsure who else may have inspected others failed fans. There were no warning lights or messages prior to failure. Two days prior to the failure (roughly 48hrs), I had an issue were my ac suddenly stopped working unless the vehicle was in motion, thinking I needed the ac recharged, I made plans to have that done at the next oil change. I now know that this was likely my radiator fan starting to fail. I had no other symptoms of the problem prior to the fan failing completely and nearly overheating my engine. You can see video of a fan starting to fail here: [xxx] further complaints: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2024

I have reported to my dealer (the marlboro Nissan/MA on may 24, 2024 2:00pm) thedangerous situation that keeps my Rogue (VIN: jn1bj1crxkw322671) at a lowergear (the car cannot go more than 20 mph. . . In the highway this is very slow) afterstanding still in a traffi c jam for a while on a hot day (specially after a traffi c jam iscleared). I'm concerned this can cause an accident and Nissan is doing nothing toresolve this risky car issue. There is no indication in the dashboard and even thoughwe have reported this problem to the dealer twice, they have done nothing. Nissanshould be held accountable for not resolving this design/manufacturing issue. Additional.

See attached document for complaint.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2024

In first or second year of ownership the car spontaneously braked on 2 occasions. Both times after going over road damage. - I had no damage and thought related to rd condition, did not report. About 2 weeks ago chassis warning came on momentarily then malfunction error came on but went off for rest of day. Next day malfunction error for aeb system came on again and has remained on. I had trusted independent auto body shop computer person run scanner evaluation. Some 30 items lit up but 2 didnt clear suggesting possible wire harness. On line many customers noted difficulty finding the right dealer or repair shop the first time , often going to several before problem corrected, Nissan says all dealerships are independent and wont recommend one. Consumers talk about possible recall pending for 2017,18,19 Rogue. Mine is 2019. I want to go to most expert for this concern -should it be a collision expert or general dealer repair for this safety concern. Thank you.

21 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2023

I turn on the car and there is no screen and even the radio will be on playing sound at times but no screen nor do any buttons control it then suddenly comes on when driving happened a few times but now im sure something is malfunctioning . Now my back up camera screen went black while backing out of my driveway I damaged my home pvc fence and my right fender was damaged as well in this incident I currently will not count on the camera until there's a recall lastly suddenly at 50mph the vehicle started to brake sharply no one was on road or in front of me for no reason that happened awhile ago these sensors for safety are great but now I feel really uneasy that only happened 1x I am the original owner and never in an accident until hitting my own driveway gate with minimal damage but obvious and noticeable due to camera issue, not sure what to do but my deductible is high I even purchased extended warranty from Nissan so gonna see if they can cover the issue it's a 2019 no trouble lights were ever on and passes nys inspection without issue everytime.

22 Electrical System problem

Nhtsa recall -25v-093 key fob repair Nissan TSB for remedial actions on defective key fob disables the function of the key fob to be "closed". In essence, the "key" protrudes permanently as opposed to its' intended usage within device. The proper recall would have been Nissan to replace these defective key fobs which they will not perform.

26 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2023

At about 45,000 miles I noticed my passenger door lock intermittently not responding the lock and unlock from the key fob and button on the drivers door. Had I not noticed this could cause a dangerous situation safety wise. I took it to dealer said actuator is not working all the time. At that point I declined to fix it as I do not utilize that door often but now at about 63,000 miles it is not working at all unless I physically lock and unlock the door with the inner lock switch on the passenger door. Rest of doors work fine this should not be killing off already. Not recall the official first date I noticed that but if needed I can ask the dealer so below date is an estimate.

33 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2022

My vehicle's alarm comes on by itself at night and I have to get up and hit the key fob in order to stop the alarm from sounding off. Is that unusual and on the dash board a red triangle pops up and this has been going on for about 1 month. Also the lights inside of the car keep coming on when I am driving.

34 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2022

On October 14 2022 I was driving my vehicle at about 35mph and came suddenly upon a stop sign. I hit the brakes and skidded through the intersection and collided with a pick up truck going about 15 mph. My Rogue immediately caught fire from under the hood and the doors wouldn't open. The person I collided with was the only person amongst a dozen people who was brave enough and cared enough about my life to ram his body repeatedly into the rear passenger window and yanked me out of the car. Within 10 seconds of him doing that the vehicle exploded. I almost lost my life from what would be considered a minor collision due to the unexplained fire and explosion.

35 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2022

The automatic emergency braking system on my 2019 Nissan Rogue will come on and stop the car dead in its tracks for no reason or no obstruction in the way that should cause this to happen. I feel it is very unsafe as this has now happened to us while driving three times. And one day the warning indicator lights came on, but they don't stay on. It has been checked at bristol Honda dealership in bristol TN. And they did confirm that there is a malfunction with the brakes, however they also said they can't fix the problem, and we just purchased the vehicle from them may 30, 2022, just 4 months ago. Also, the bright lights turn off and won't stay on but according to the dealership they turn off because it is too bright outside, which is absurd since I only use bright lights at night when it is dark. I feel this is very unsafe and could be deadly if not repaired or replaced.
