I was on the freeway, going 65mph. Suddenly, I felt my car partially brake. Thank god I was close to an exit and got off safely. My car partially braked again while I was going 35mph down the street. As I cautiously drove home, the fcw kept blinking, even though there was ample distance between me and other cars, and at times, no car in front of me. It's winter time and there's snow on the ground. This could cause an accident!!!.
I purchased my vehicle in October 2025 for over $20,000, and it just started having issues on December 8, 2025. I have taken it to the dealership and made the head office aware of the issue I am having. The vehicle experiences delayed or absent braking response when brake pedal is applied. Dealership claims no issue found, but the vehicle fails to decelerate as expected, creating an imminent risk of collision. The vehicle has been at the coggin Nissan dealership in jacksonville since January 22,2026. I am not receiving any feedback or response on addressing the issue. I am now renting a car for which Nissan headquarters said will reimburse until yesterday but my issue is not resolved and my car is not safe to drive. Thank you for your help on this matter. I was driving on a four lane road, no car in front in my lane, only a car in the lane to the left and a car behind, when the forward collision warning came up and immediately activated the automatic emergency braking. There were no cars or objects in the road ahead that would have triggered the forward collision warning. Fortunately the car behind did not hit me despite the abrupt and unexpected stop. For context, I have had an ongoing issue with this car detecting shadows when in reverse (mostly in my driveway) and thinking they are objects or people, which triggers the automatic emergency braking. On the day of the incident described above the weather condition was sunny.
2021 Nissan Rogue sport. While driving, the forward collision warning/automatic emergency braking system will sometimes activate without reason. The vehicle applies the brakes suddenly, even when there are no obstacles, vehicles, or hazards in front of me. This false activation occurs intermittently and poses a safety concern, as it can cause unexpected braking in traffic. The issue has happened under normal driving conditions, without any obstructions on the road.
In forward motion a loud griding noise on drivers side was noticed. Stopped at a repair shop and told the calipers are bad. Nissan has a recall for the rear brake calipers for failure, but we were told that our VIN. Number does not apply, yet they failed less that 100,000 and the front calipers are original. Front should fail 3 to 1 to the back. . . The back should not have failed. Nissan corp. Did not want to entertain out complaint. Nissan case# 55061723.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds; there were squeaking and grinding sound coming from the front passenger’s side wheel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnose and it was determined that the caliper, brake pads, and rotor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact had learned of NHTSA campaign numbers: 23v791000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and 21v286000 (service brakes hydraulic); and linked the failure to the recalls; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard without warning. The contact pumped the brake pedal to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact coasted the vehicle to a stop and after the vehicle came to a complete stop, the brake functionality returned. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where an attempt was made to replace the brake calipers; but the mechanic was unable to perform the repair. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred for a second time while driving at a slow speed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the vehicle remained 2 weeks; however, the dealer could not duplicate or diagnose cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.
Parking brake light blinking and vehicle would not drive forward or reverse.
I was parked then backed up to proceed forward. There was a pole with a cemented base in the corner left as I accelerated I ran in to this pole. Peripherally I don’t know how I missed the pole however I do take accountability for that. What concerns me is my front collision system and forward emergency braking system failed and did not activate or message me in any way. In the past if I’ve come too close to a vehicle or object in front of me my vehicle lets me know messaging me on my screen, side mirrors and my vehicle has even braked itself. I have become reliant on this system and I no longer feel secure or safe knowing this system intermittently works. The dealership hart Nissan now victory Nissan I bought my 2021 Rogue from said that certain areas of the front bumper can miss objects. This is not safe and unacceptable. Additionally it is costing me a $2,000 deductible which is unaffordable on my disability income.
I was driving forward and following another vehicle. It slammed on the brakes suddenly causing me to hit the back of the vehicle in front of me. I am supposed to have forward collision detection and automatic braking and neither one ever engaged to avoid the crash.
On September 1, 2023, I was headed north on I-95 in north carolina. I was involved in a 3 car pileup where the automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning on my 2021 Nissan Rogue failed to activate. My vehicle had adas but almost killed my mother and me since they did not work. The car was totaled and the state trooper wrongfully cited me for failure to reduce speed even though my foot was firmly on the brakes. The airbags were severed during impact and failed to deploy.
Aeb/abs braking system lights came on. I've had prior electrical problems with this car so I assumed it was an electrical malfunction. When I took it to the Nissan dealership they told me there was a brake fluid leak in the abs actuator. The warning lights started Friday August 4th 2023. I took it in to get diagnosed Thursday August 10th 2023. I bought my 2021 Rogue in Jan. 2023 from carvana with no knowlege of accidents or prior issues within the first few weeks I had issues with the distance sensor which Nissan recplaced. I have not had any accidents with the car since I've owned it.
The car belong to my father. This is the third incident. While he was going out of his property in reverse about 5 miles by hours the car sudently turn off itself making imposible to control the vehicle in any way , no wheel control , no brakes and almost kill his neighbors.
The contact leased a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, an unknown warning light illuminated and a message indicating an unknown malfunction was displayed. The vehicle then experienced phantom braking and came to a complete stop, almost causing the vehicle behind him to crash into the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle 10 minutes later, the vehicle responded as needed and he was able to drive to his residence. The vehicle was picked up by the leasing company. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. There was no further information provided. The failure mileage was approximately 30,992.
When trying to start the car I had to push the brakes almost to the floor to get it to start. They were extremely soft to get it to start the engine and then they were going to the floor before coming to a stop. They are almost to the floor when slowing down or stopping. Then while I was driving to pick up my prescriptions and approaching a stop sign, then 3 stop lights or approaching a vehicle that is already stopped in front of me my brakes are extremely soft and do not engage. They almost go to the floor. The car does not immediately slow down or come to a stop. I have to keep pumping the brakes and even then they were extremely soft and went almost to the floor before stopping. I have small feet size 6-7 and one time my foot slid under the pedal. I had to use the parking brake at the stop sign and the stop lights to feel comfortable enough that I would not move forward and be sure I that I came a full stop. I pulled into a mcdonalds parking lot less than a mile from my home to see if I turn off the car it will reset the brakes and it did not work. I called elevated Nissan in merriam, kansas which is the dealership I purchased it from (less than another mile away from the mcdonalds) they were closing in 25 minutes, so I drove less than 5 mph to get there and dropped off the vehicle. I showed mike russell in service how they would go to the floor. He called me the next morning and after the vehicle sitting in the shop all night long the brakes engaged in a normal fashion the next day. They are trying to find out what is causing them to go soft. These brakes can cause a serious catastrophe resulting in injury or worse.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the malfunction warning light was illuminated and the message "awd error. See owner manual" and "abs error" were displayed. The contact stated as she turned off and restarted the vehicle, the warning lights disappeared; however, the failure reoccurred intermittently. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off while it was parked and the oil pressure warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle emitted abnormally loud sounds. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.
While driving down a road at 40mph that has a speed limit of 45 there are a set railroad tracks that you go over. Of course I slow to 20mph but the forward collision warning activated but it was not a warning but an out right complete stop of the vehicle which would have cause rear end collision if someone was behind me. And it was reported to Nissan about the situation and requested to disable this safety feature but was denied.
The steering wheel and brake peddle locked (unable to steer or pump brakes) causing me to lose control of the car. I ended up sideswiping a tree and rear-ending a parked pickup truck, totaling my car. This malfunction was an ongoing issue that I initially reported to the dealership which the car came from and also after occurring 2 additional times (with video evidence). The dealership stated that because they were unable to duplicate the malfunction, they could not fix the problem and due to my state's lemon law, Nissan corporate could not get involved until the same malfunction occurred for a 4th time. This exact malfunction (unable to steer or pump brakes) had only occurred while the car was in reverse but unfortunately for me, the 4th occurrence happened while the car was in drive. My son and I are very fortunate to have walked away from this very avoidable accident with minor injuries, although the trauma will be there for a while.
Sensors that stop the car reversing if someone is behind them malfunction and you cannot reverse. Sensors that are meant to slow car for fwd collision do not work at all, or stay on with no obstruction causing you not to be able to drive. Dealer stated issue when temp is below 35 degrees and reset, issue not fixed. Nissan rep states no issues with car take to dealer. Multiple other people with issue on a group page. I hit a deer at 15mph the sensor never detected anything or stopped car. Nissan rep stated it was to stop. Car for pedestrian not a deer.
