Service Brakes problem #1

While making a left turn at approximately 10 mph in light snow conditions, braking became severely impaired with pedal pressure present but vehicle failing to decelerate, and steering became significantly resistant and insufficient to redirect the vehicle away from the obstacle. Vehicle continued toward a tree despite brake pedal input and steering input away from the tree. Slippery road warning light activated before and during the incident. Multiple additional warning lights activated during and after impact. Airbags did not deploy despite collision. Post-incident, steering required significant opposite steering input to drive straight for approximately 1. 7 miles to reach a safe parking location, consistent with front-end damage affecting steering alignment. Prior to this incident, I experienced multiple separate occasions where braking felt abnormal and insufficient in conditions requiring higher traction including rain and snow. I verbally reported this concern once to an authorized Nissan dealer in December 2025 and was told this was normal aeb system behavior. No documentation was created for this verbal complaint. Vehicle had a prior manufacturer recall performed at an authorized Nissan dealer on June 1, 2024 reconfiguring the ipdm/usm — the module controlling electronic steering column lock and can bus safety system communications. At that same visit, the Nissan technician documented abnormally dirty brake fluid at only 14,410 miles on this 2023 vehicle. A second manufacturer recall reprogramming the ecm was performed at an authorized Nissan dealer on December 4, 2025, approximately two months before this incident. The vehicle is available for inspection. No independent or dealer post-incident inspection has occurred. An insurance claim has been opened. Incident occurred within the 3-year/36,000-mile manufacturer warranty period at under 31,000 miles.

Service Brakes problem #2

How brake failure caused the Rogue to crash. “I was coming up on a stop and was trying to slowly come to a stop. But I noticed that my car wasn’t slowing down. So, I tried to brake harder by pushing on the brake pedal, but the pedal resisted my foot pressure. I pressed harder on the pedal, but the car didn’t start to beep the collision warning. I was not in control of the braking system (and) the car would not stop. The car wasn’t allowing me to brake. As everything happened so fast. I ended up rear ending someone. ”.

Service Brakes problem #3

This is a rental vehicle- I had several incidents when I could not stop the vehicle. Above the brake is a structural bar about 1/2" in diameter. I wear a size 13 shoe. At several red lights I tried to apply the brake but the car would not stop. (I did stop before hitting anyone) upon investigation I discovered that my toe was pressing on the bar, not on the brake. Only when my shoe's heel was on the floor was I able to clear the bar and step on the brake. I normally keep my foot somewhat higher than the floor when braking my own car, so this was a dangerous surprise to me.

Service Brakes problem #4

The most recent incident the emergency brake locked on and the dash flashed system malfunction , maintenance needed, , emergency braking system shut down and several indicators were shut down . This continued for 90 minutes while I was on the phone with Nissan and was waiting for the tow truck when arriving at Nissan 72 miles away , they were not able to find any codes and the car was fine no issues . Luckily I have video to back my story . I have pictures and videos of other times it has done this , but no one will look into why it keeps doing this and it’s done it several time over 2 1/2 years . They changed the stop /start button and it helped but now it’s starting to flash the emergency braking system is off again which is a build up to a major episode again. My Rogue has less than 40, 000 miles on it and has been one issue like this after another with them slapping band aides on it and not finding the source of the problem. They even claim it cleared the bearing failure test but the test was preformed while it was on route to Nissan on a tow truck .

Service Brakes problem #5

While stopped at a stop light, I turned off adaptive cruise control. Upon the light turning green and accelerating to 10-15mph, the parking brake spontaneously engaged locking up the rear wheels bringing the car to a immediate, unexpected and jarring stop in moving traffic. The vehicle was a rental and was not inspected afterwards. No warning lights appeared on the dash warning of the parking brake engagement nor did any appear after the parking brake was fully engaged.

Service Brakes problem #6

While on the highway heading to florida. . . . . . . All kinds of lights came on and reduced the speed. It was hard to understand what happened but I made it to the Nissan place halfway through the trip. They couldn't do much and had no loaners but the reset the codes in my car. As it was cleared. . . . . Everything went back to normal as of nothing happened. But on my way back home . . . . . It happened again. This time I couldn't make it to Nissan but I made it to auto zone and a local shop in orangeburg. They received 13 different codes. Again. . . . There's was nothing they could do so they man reset the codes in my car. Clear the code n I made it home safely with my family.

Service Brakes problem #7

When parking, my car keeps automatically applying brakes. I have turned off this setting yet. It continues to happen. Safety is at risk when my car stops in the middle of the street instead of continuing to back up. Cars following behind me are unaware that my car will randomly break. I have not reached out to a dealer with these concerns and have yet to get an inspection.

Service Brakes problem #8

Electronic parking system warning light is on on four separate dates(12/29/2023, 03/20/2024, 03/28/2024, 04/17/2024). I have video recording as evidence that the warning light is on. It is a safety risk because it is suppose to be an emergency brake. Took it to the delearship to be inspected multiple times and as of right now, there has been no resolution. Even the engineer still can’t find a solution to fix it. The manufacturer has been informed.

Service Brakes problem #9

Purchased brand new in January of 2023, engine problems, engine knocks while driving or idle, hesitates when accelerating. Stalling when driving, heavy gas smell, bad plastic oil pan, breaks during oil change, cause oil leaks, and engine failure. Vehicle vibrates when braking, bad lower fuel pump.

Service Brakes problem #10

In the 5mph stop and go traffic of leaving a sloped parking garage, the brakes did not respond to repeated attempts to stop the Rogue. The brakes did not work with pumping them, hard pressure or light pressure. No collision warning alerts activated. (no beeping, lights or camera occurred as it usually does when an object is close to the vehicle. ) no emergency braking activated. The only thing that stopped the Rogue was the impact with the vehicle in front of me. There is damage to the front bumper as well as the rear bumper of the car I hit. I turned off the car for 2 minutes and turned it back on to move it out of the way of the traffic behind me. The brake function returned as normal as did the collision warning alerts. The Rogue was taken to the Nissan dealership from which I purchased it. They state that they are waiting for a Nissan representative specialist to come to the location to attempt to reproduce the issue and fix the problem. There have been zero previous incidents of any kind with this vehicle. I purchased it new in March, 2023. The insurance claim has been filed but no body repairs have been scheduled because the priority is the brake system failure.

Service Brakes problem #11

I was parking car. Car unexpectedly accelerated, hit object in front of me & continued accelerating off road into a field until I got car into neutral. Car has not been inspected for cause. At time of accident I assumed I made an error. Danger is car was going extremely fast with no control to stop. Drive off road maybe 20 feet after hitting a manual water pump (at campsite). There were children playing in area.

Service Brakes problem #12

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan altima. The contact stated that the windshield had cracked with no external cause. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was the windshield was replaced. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 45-50 mph, the vehicle ahead slowed down, slid and stopped side ways, approximately two feet in the emergency lane and two feet in the left lane. The contact stated that upon depressing the brake pedal, the wheels locked but the abs failed to engage, causing the vehicle to skid. Additionally, the contact attempted to turn to the right to avoid the other vehicle, but the steering wheel was locked. The contact used his physical strength to steer the steering wheel; however, the vehicle crashed into the passenger's side rear bumper and headlight of the other vehicle. The contact stated that the forward collision avoidance emergency braking system failed to engage. The air bags did not deploy. The front driver's side door failed to open widely. The contact stated that he kicked the door in order to exit the vehicle. There was no injury sustained. There was no police report filed. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer's autobody repair shop, all magic paint & body (14461 commerce center dr, moreno valley, CA 92553). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a Nissan field inspector would inspect the vehicle and would review the edr information. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,300. The VIN was unavailable.

Service Brakes problem #13

I was driving home from work during 5pm rush hour. I was coming up on a stop light going about 30mph and was trying to slowly come to a stop but noticed that my car wasn't slowing down so I tried to brake harder by pushing on the brake pedal but the pedal resisted my foot pressure so I pressed harder on the pedal but the car took over the braking and started to beep the collision warning. I was not in control of the braking system the car would not stop. The car wasnt allowing me to brake. I heard all kinds of beeping from the car as everything happened so fast. I ended up rear ending someone. Max speed was roughly 30mph and air bag did not deploy.

Service Brakes problem #14

On November 12, 2022, I purchased a brand new Nissan Rogue 2023. Within a few weeks of driving this brand new car, the check engine light came on. A few days after the check engine light appeared, the car almost shut down while I was making a left turn at a light. I called the Nissan dealership where I purchased the car and they told me to bring the car in for inspection. While driving on the interstate highway to get to the dealership, the check engine light changed to "engine malfunction. " immediately, the car stopped functioning. The gas pedal became flat, and I could not get the car to accelerate no matter how hard I tried. The vehicle essentially stopped in the middle of the highway with me and my two children in it. This incident posed a significant risk to me and my children, as well as to other motorists in that we could have been involved in a major car accident. I called the police and had the car towed to the dealership. The dealership stated that the signal between the pedal and the engine, which cause the car to accelerate was faulty. They said the defect has been repaired, but I will never drive that car again. After this incident, I conducted a little bit of research and I found out that consumers have been experiencing similar problems, dating back to the 2016 model (all of this information is located on google). What makes the situation even worse is that Nissan has, on multiple occasions refused to reimburse my $35,000. I am now paying the price for something that is not my fault. Buyers be aware!.

Service Brakes problem #15

We were in an accident that has caused injury to the driver (fiancé) and passenger (myself). The impact was on the front driver side. No airbags deployed. No emergency braking activated or collision warning appeared. The cruise control was on, that also activates all sensors. We do not have insurance information yet, but this vehicle is most likely going to total. We have yet to receive the incident report from the police.
