At 7:20am on Dec 5, 2025, we used the remote start on our 2023 Nissan Rogue which was in our unopened garage. We heard a loud sound and walked out to find the back window shattered. It looks like it blew out by the heating element (defroster) on the window. It was roughly 10 degrees outside and maybe 40-50 degrees in our garage. We have not had this issue in the nearly 2. 5 years we have owned this vehicle.
I am reporting a premature corrosion issue on my Nissan Rogue with approximately 25,000 miles. Rust has developed on the roof panel, which is highly unusual for a vehicle of this age and mileage. The vehicle was purchased in early December 2025. To my knowledge, this condition was not disclosed by the selling dealer, carmax, along with other issues identified after purchase. To the best of my knowledge, the vehicle has been properly maintained and not involved in any accidents, as none were reported or disclosed. The rust appears to be developing under or through the paint, suggesting a defect in factory paint or corrosion protection. I first brought the vehicle to mossy Nissan on February 11, 2026, and was referred to their body shop, which completed a report on February 12, 2026. However, the dealership did not submit the claim to Nissan until March 4, 2026, causing a delay. After submission, I was contacted about a week later for mileage. Despite multiple follow-ups from me, there was no timely response. I was asked again to bring the vehicle for inspection, which I did promptly. After these delays, I was informed the claim was denied without a satisfactory explanation. Given the roof location and the vehicle’s condition, this raises concerns about a possible manufacturing defect and the claims process. Premature corrosion may affect long-term integrity and value. I request this be investigated as a defect in materials or workmanship and that Nissan provide an appropriate repair. I also request review of whether this condition should have been disclosed at the time of sale.
On December 3, 2025, while parked in the hospital parking lot, the rear hatch window of my vehicle suddenly shattered without any impact, collision, or outside interference. I approached my vehicle and found the glass completely busted outward. I immediately contacted hospital security. They reviewed the surveillance footage and confirmed the following: no one was near or tampering with the vehicle at the time the window shattered. There was no visible impact, vandalism, or external cause. The video clearly shows the window spontaneously breaking on its own. After leaving the hospital, I contacted the Nissan dealership. They stated they had “never heard of anything like this. ” however, after researching online, I found numerous complaints from other owners reporting similar spontaneous rear window failures in Nissan vehicles. This raises concerns that the issue may be related to manufacturing defects, glass stress fractures, faulty hinges, or improper pressure seals. At this point, I am seeking assistance and clarification on how to proceed regarding the repair, warranty coverage, and potential safety defect reporting.
I was parking at my workplace and when I was getting out of my vehicle and back windshield glass just completely shattered and I have done some research to find out that I’m not the only one that deal with the issue a lot others people have had that happen to them.
I was gently and normally closing my trunk as usual today and the entire glass window of the trunk completely shattered. It sounded like a loud pop or a gunshot. Glass flew all over the car and my daughter was in the back seat. I cut my hand on the glass. My car is now making noises and beeping constantly. My backup camera is not working properly. This is a significant safety concern that needs to be addressed immediately.
This morning when I got into my car and closed the door, the back window exploded. Nothing hit it, there were no cracks, etc. It simply sounded like a gunshot and fell inward into the back of my Rogue. I have seen numerous similar stories online with Rogue back windows shattering for no explainable reason.
Vehicle: 2023 Nissan Rogue, VIN [your VIN], kr15 engine issue / complaint: I brought my vehicle to [dealership name and location] for the kr15 engine bearing recall (campaign 25v437) to have the oil pan and engine inspected for metal debris. The dealer refused to perform the required inspection, claiming “no remedy available yet,” and initially tried to charge me for a diagnostic test. The dealership’s refusal violates federal recall requirements, as recall inspections must be performed free of charge. I am concerned that my vehicle may be at risk of engine damage if this inspection is not done. Request: please ensure the dealership performs the recall inspection properly and at no cost. I have documentation of the visit.
Nissan has failed in a timely manner to get the service bulletin out about the engine recall.
Failed power train part that Nissan knows about( TSB notify to shops ) and is not willing to fix. This item is failing premature and can definitely be a safety hazard. My wife was driving this when it completely failed. She was afraid her car was falling apart, vibrating excessively. It is the left hand side motor mounts. It causes serious vibration throughout the vehicle when driving or stopped. They issued a TSB ntb24-14 for 2021-2023 Nissan Rogues. Looking back I would say there was small vibrations around 30-32k miles but it was just intermitting. I'm not a mechanic nor my wife. We bought a Nissan because we were told they were safe and reliable vehicles. I do not feel this way about it anymore.
Two weeks ago my 2023 Nissan broke down on the highway and with reduced power mode we were able to bring it to the closest Nissan dealer. When we got there it was closed but we left the car and asked for a recall inspection due to the note that displayed on the dashboard matching what we had received in recall. We were informed Monday that it has nothing to do this the recall. . . We went back and forth with our Nissan dealer and called Nissan corporate and they refused to do the recall assessment which would be looking for metal shaving in the oil pan. They claimed this was because there was not sufficient enough evidence, even though there has been rattling, when I got an oil change he said it was very messy, our thermometer is broken and now I broke down on the highway. They still claimed there was not enough to warrant the assesment. They determined it was the ivt sensor which was a $1,432 fix. We went back and forth with Nissan corporate again to get the recall assessment done so that we could know if this was affecting why we needed a new part that shouldnt need to be replaced so early. . . . But we were denied again. We paid the money, but are still having issues with our car and Nissan dealer and corporate outright refused to evaluate our car for safety recall engine issues affected by recall. Manufacturer recall numberr25a8 NHTSA recall number25v-437.
I hust bought a 2023 Nissan roghe sv, took it home next day tried to start the vehicle but the dashboard display system was malfunctionig, tried to shft to reverse or drive and the vehicle wouldn't go foward or backwards. . . . It flashed all the icons on the dash board. In addition to this incedent the vehicle is making rattleing noices, knocking noices in the engine, it seems noices come specifically from around the timing change, the rattle is noticeable when accelerating and decelerating aorung 2000 rpms, when going up a hill the rattle is more louder.
I was driving my vehicle after dropping my son off at school and my back windshield exploded without warning. I was unsure what to do and there was nowhere to pull over. I drove home and called my local Nissan dealer who I was leasing the vehicle from and they said the repair would not be covered. I used a local windshield replacement company and paid out of pocket to have the windshield replaced.
Takes a while for seatbelt light to go off ,sluggish driving when driving has a sound to it like its not pulling, also when using automatic starter to start car up for a while before entering it it cut off within 2 minutes and if I start it when I am a few steps from the car with the automatic starter once I get in the car it tells me to apply brake then push start when I do that the car won't start like that I have to completely cut the vehicle off and push start button, when using heat it sometimes has a burning smell. I had the car for a while but haven't driven it much because I had a second car so I noticed when I started driving the car and using the switches.
I bought my 2023 Nissan Rogue back in may. Then in June or July, I noticed a huge bulge on the sidewall on my left front driver's side of my car. I had to have it replaced immediately, in which I did, at walmart. Fast forward to September 30, and I went to mclarty to have an oil change cause walmart will no longer do them because of some sort of plastic oil seal that they have broken several times and their boss said no more oil changes on them. While at mclarty they found a bad front left quick strut and basically accused me of hitting something and hitting it hard for it to do that much damage. I did not hit anything at all!! I feel that this damage was done to my vehicle before I bought it and I don't feel that I should have to pay for something that I didn't do and that the mechanics should have found, if in fact they did do their inspection before selling it to me. The inspection was supposedly done. Signed, very unhappy and irrate customer.
My back window shattered when it wasn’t even touched by anything.
Was driving my Nissan Rogue and the back windshield exploded. Seems to be a concurrent issue online and I wish Nissan would do anything about it.
I purchased this car in September and the recall on it was not disclosed to me, I asked the person at the dealership, he said no recalls were on this car. I am afraid to drive this car because it is a major issue with the engine failing while driving.
I parked my car at 740 am 9/10 and went to work. I am a nurse and I work for an outpatient clinic. I parked in a deck that is also monitored by security. When I got out of work at420 pm my rear window was completely shattered. The entire circumference of the window. I noticed it because I got in the car and close the door and heard something fall and nothing is in my car so I turn around and look and the window was shattered. What I heard falling was little pieces of glass falling inside my car into my trunk. I saw that other Nissan Rogue owners had the same encounter where there back window just exploded. I had to report this because I am now 2 weeks without my car waiting for Nissan to tell my dealership to fix my car because I am still under warranty.
On Saturday, while driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue (currently under recall) down the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration. At the same time, every warning light illuminated on the dashboard. This occurred without any prior warning, forcing me to quickly and unsafely maneuver to the shoulder of the road while traffic was moving at high speeds. Component or system that failed: powertrain/engine/acceleration system (vehicle is available for inspection upon request). Safety risk: my safety and the safety of others were at risk because the sudden loss of acceleration occurred in the middle of highway driving, creating a dangerous situation where I could have been struck by oncoming vehicles. Reproduction/confirmation: unknown. The incident has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Inspection status: the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Warning lamps or prior symptoms: all warning lamps illuminated at the time of failure. There were no prior warning messages or symptoms before this incident occurred.
I called the dealer empire Nissan in ontario were we purchased the vehicle to have the recall fixed. I was informed they don't have the parts in to fix it. I asked do they know when more or less it will arrive? they tell me no idea. I ask if it's possible to get a loaner meanwhile don't want to risk vehicle catching on fire according to recall it states this can happen if not taken care of they said there's nothing they can do. So now I'm afraid to drive the car but that's the only transportation available. I don't know how else to go about this. Please help.

Back window shattered while closing the door and also the car lost power while driving.
I've been waiting for Nissan to come up for a remedy for recall # 25v - 437. I've called the dealership several times and have been told that there isn't a remedy yet for the problem. I first started calling about six weeks ago once I found out about the recall and its potential problems and hazards.
My car just randomly started having issues. It will start one day then take forever to start the next day. I’ve experienced bad odor to the vehicle and also the vehicle jumps into gears instead of smoothly shifting into gear. Also the engine is making noise and also the engine malfunction light has came on and my vehicle reduced power making it impossible to drive out of nowhere. I don’t feel safe riding in this vehicle due to the burning smell.
My back window of my 2023 Nissan Rogue sl blew out. I have a police report. Woman sweepingnuo the glass was nearly hit by the glass as the liftgate opened automatically and she could have been hurt very badly. Of there was someone in the backseat it would have been a very serious injury. The back window id defective and there have been numerous reports of the 2023 Nissan Rogues back windows exploding for no apparent reason. Very dangerous situation. I had mine replaced with no help from Nissan as my car was bought brand new and is still under warranty. Im out $1400. 00 for the repair as well. This is unacceptable in so many ways. Im so afraid to drive it again as this could happen again. Someone can be severely hurt or killed. This needs to be recalled now. Before someone dies!!.

Vehicle has been having multiple issues a repairs since may. Contacted Nissan corporate multiple times regarding concern for issues and safety. Vehicle has become disable multiple times along the highway at early morning hours, ie 2 am. Have called engine knocking, poor engine performance and engine malfunction dash lights illuminated on dash to attention of cochran Nissan dealership and Nissan corporate multiple times. Dealership continues to gaslight us about the engine issues. We recently learned of recall on engine and were informed there is “no fix. ” failure to repair will increase risk of crash. Feeling very unsafe and uncomfortable driving a vehicle that is not reliable and may crash due to recall and lack of repair.
My 2023 Nissan Rogue is currently at the avondale Nissan dealership in avondale, az. I have been taking it between service appointments and the check engine and recall for the pass 4 months then a week ago it stop while driving to my mailbox and acted like it was in an accident. Each time I have taken to the dealership they stated it unfortunate would have to wait until something worse happen because they couldn’t see it in the codes. Now that what was described has happened the dealership is stating I have to pay 3500 to determine if it is the engine. Before they can determine if it’s part of the recall after 4 months of me asking for the help and describing how the car was running.
2023 Nissan Rogue with 26,527 miles and oem bridgestone alenza sport a/s tires. Sidewall of passenger side rear tire has a bulge in the side wall. Noticed this after having the car serviced at the dealer. Coincidentally, the front tire blew today while driving.
While driving, I suddenly saw the message "warning! malfunction. Refer to owner’s manual" display on my dashboard, which caused a loss of power and made it difficult to accelerate. I had to turn off the car in the middle of the highway, and it was frightening to think what could happen if this occurred on the expressway.
I got recall notice from Nissan I went to Nissan cresent dealership 6600 state hwy 121, frisco, TX 75034 on 15th Aug 2025. Nissan person told me within 1 month I will get a call from Nissan dealer and I can bring the my veichle . Several times I called them but I got same response . My 2023 Nissan Rogue with less than 38,000 miles is experiencing severe engine failure. This has happened multiple times (more than 30 times) on the highway and in the city. When I am in slow-moving traffic or stop at a red light, the engine appears to rev and a warning light comes up "engine malfunction. Power reduce. Service now. " then the speed reduced, and no matter how hard I stepped on the gas pedal, the speed would not go past 8 miles per hour. I had to turn on the hazard lights to warn motorists behind me. To get the car to function, I turned off the engine, let it cool for a few minutes, and turned it on again. This issue has been going on for months. I took it to the Nissan dealership, and they could not find the problem. I am afraid of driving in slow traffic and of stopping at the traffic light. Please, somebody, needs to pass this on to Nissan so they can fix this problem? from online discussions, this appears to be an ongoing problem with many 2023 Nissan Rogues.
Since August 6, 2025, my vehicle has been under a safety recall and has been unusable for over three months. The recall notice states that the remedy is not yet available, and there is no estimated date for when repairs will be completed. I have contacted Nissan multiple times seeking assistance, including requests for a loaner vehicle, rental reimbursement, or buyback, but Nissan has refused to help or provide any interim solution. As a result, I have been without the use of my car for several months due to a manufacturer’s safety defect. Summary of issues: •recall active since August 6, 2025 •remedy not available; no repair timeline provided •vehicle cannot be safely driven •manufacturer refuses to assist with transportation, rental, or buyback I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance and investigation into this matter, as it is unreasonable that a safety recall leaves an owner without a vehicle for such an extended period without any remedy or support. Thank you for your attention to this urgent safety concern.
I am writing to formally report a concern regarding a potential design defect in the 2023 Nissan Rogue that I believe poses a safety risk. During a routine oil change at a Nissan dealership, the metal drain plug detached from the vehicle’s oil pan. The dealership determined that the plastic oil pan had to be replaced and charged me approximately $500 for the repair. I have since learned that this issue may be the result of a flawed design — specifically, the combination of a plastic oil pan and a metal drain plug, which may lead to stripped threads or plug failure over time. From my understanding, Nissan has modified the oil pan design in the 2024 Rogue models, which suggests they are aware of the flaw and have taken steps to correct it. However, for 2023 models like mine, this issue remains a risk. If the plug detaches while the vehicle is in operation, it could lead to a sudden and dangerous loss of engine oil, potentially resulting in engine failure and loss of vehicle control — a serious safety hazard. I believe this should be investigated as a potential safety-related defect. The current design not only puts drivers at risk but also leaves them responsible for costly repairs resulting from what appears to be a manufacturer design oversight.
I got into my vehicle on drivers side as I closed my door the rear windshield shattered.
