Wiper problems of the 2025 Nissan Rogue - part 1

Hello, I am writing to report a sudden rear windshield failure on my 2025 Nissan Rogue. On March 20, 2026, the rear windshield shattered without any impact or external cause. I am aware of ongoing reports and a recently filed class action lawsuit alleging rear windshield defects in 2021–2025 Nissan Rogues. Based on the circumstances, I believe my vehicle experienced the same defect. I have video and photographic documentation available upon request. Due to immediate safety concerns and inability to operate the vehicle, I had the windshield replaced on March 21, 2026, by windshields r us at a cost of $337. 04. Given the known safety concerns and reported defect, I am requesting reimbursement and documentation of this incident under Nissan’s defect review process. Back glass completely shattered while driving around 65 mph down the road. Had been driving for around 1 hr prior and weather was a consistent 30 degrees. No objects hit the glass and then it sounded like a loud explosion. I had a service inspection on February 20, 2026 where no issues were stated. No warnings appeared prior to this incident.

While getting into my car I closed the driver side door and the back glass shattered. It had no visible cracks or chips and was parked in an open area.

I went to start the car. Got out and shut the drivers door and the rear windshield shattered and fell in. There were no cracks or chips in the window before. Broken glass shards got all in my 7 month olds extra car seat that we use for a stroller. The Nissan dealership we bought the car from said the glass is on back order with no idea when it will be in stock. They put plastic over it and sent us away until they find more information out.

While sitting at a red light, the rear windows exploded and shattered. After getting out of the vehicle to determine what happened, the windows then caved in. This is a rental vehicle and has to be repaired immediately. The damage is no longer available for inspection. This put mine and others safety at risk because if I had of been moving during the time of the explosion, it could have caused an accident. The police inspected the vehicle. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to this happening. I only had the vehicle for a 4 days prior to this happening.

The back window on our 2025 Rogue shattered an explored to today February 15, 2026, safety was compromised by not being able to see out of back window. There is no back window to reproduced. No warning just happen. After being parked.

The rear window shattered without being hit by anything. We were parked in a lot and the window just shattered for no apparent reason. Window fragments are dangerous. I saw the issue online when I started to investigate if this was a one off or it happened to others. We are scheduled to visit the dealership. They indicated that they had another incident with video proof that nothing struck the rear window and it just shattered. The dealership also indicated that Nissan refused to fix it. There was no warning. Something needs to be done to cure this situation. Our vehicle is brand new - we have owned it for less than a year.

I got in the car this morning and when I turned the car in it just shattered for no reason at all.

My car was sitting in the parking lot at work and the back glass shattered. I called the dealer to see if it was under warranty and they told me no. I called my insurance and they are trying to get it replaced. I put crash wrap on it so I can drive it. I can't see out the back now.

My vehicle had been parked in my driveway for approximately one hour. When I entered the car and closed the door, I immediately heard a shattering sound. The vehicle was not running at the time, and there was no impact or external force involved. The rear window shattered suddenly and without warning. I am thankful this did not occur while I was driving, as it presents a serious safety concern that could have caused an accident. There were no prior signs or indications that this would happen. The rear window of the vehicle failed and cracked around the edges and then imploded shattered glass into the vehicle with no force or accident, only cold weather. Vehicle was parked and engine not on.

While getting in my car after work I shut the drivers door and the rear hatch glass shattered.

On Friday, January 2, 2026, the rear windshield of the vehicle spontaneously shattered into a million pieces. The vehicle was not running. It was not moving. . . And no one touched it.

Rear windshield shattered for no reason. Came home from the store and heard popping from the back parked in driveway. Glass was shattering and by the time it finished entire window was gone. Did some researching and multiple Rogues have this issue. Safelite told me I was the 5th Rogue owner in 2 weeks to have this issue.

The rear window on my 2025 Nissan Rogue shattered. There was no reason for this to happen I had driven it in the morning and it was fine I went out an hour later and it was shattered. There was a slight temperature fluctuation that day in plano texas December 30th 2025. Upon researching this I found out that this had happened to other people in the same make and model.

My rear window just shattered without cause. I got into the vehicle this morning, closed the door and then a loud noise occurred. I looked and found that the entire back window had shattered. Very dangerous had this happened on the road!!.

Rear windshield spontaneously shattered. Car was parked in a vacant lot, with no external contact. I opened the driver side door and the window shattered. Rear defroster was used about 4 hours before on drive to work. Hatch was opened upon arrival with no issues or noticeable cracks.

I parked my 2025 Nissan Rogue in my attached garage on Thursday night. I went into the garage on Sunday evening and saw that the rear windshield had shattered. The perimeter of the windshield had pieces missing, those were on the garage floor behind the car. At this point the glass was still attached. However, I needed to retrieve an item inside the car. When I gently closed the door, a chunk of shattered glass fell in the cargo area. More fell inside today, still parked in the garage. I bought it in Feb 2025, it has around 5,000 miles. I spoke to the dealership today and explained what occurred. The response, which I will quote, “that just wouldn’t happen. ” I reported it to my insurance. I have no other vehicle and need this fixed this week so I’m paying the $500 deductible. There was no prior damage to the windshield. The car had not been driven for 3 days. I did take a video and photos.

Got in my car and was buckeling my seatbelt and then a loud bang. . Sounded like a gunshot. The rear window exploded. This is a known issue with Nissan Rogue. The sound scared me. I have chest pains from being so scared. Nissan dealer can't do anything and when I called Nissan customer affairs they took information and told me there is no recall and to call my insurance company.

On Thursday November 13th, 2025, I drove to work like I do every day. When I got to work and parked, the rear windshield cracked all on its own. It was not freezing, nor were there any large temperature swings to cause this. Today (wed Nov 19th, 2025) the safelite repair man came to replace it. He stated that he sees this quite often with the Nissan Rogue. I called Nissan and they said that they never have heard of this (as I would expect them to say). I would like this investigated as there was nothing done to cause this - no rocks, etc.

My back windshield exploded while it was parked in my office’s lot. The glass completely shattered for no apparent reason. I had to drive my vehicle with glass still connected but about to fall out. I went to the dealership and shut the door, and it all fell out. I have seen hundreds of online posts with the same thing happening to other Nissan Rogues, and the dealership is saying they aren’t going to cover it and claim they have never heard of the issue. There were no warning signs that this was going to happen.

My car was sitting in my driveway earlier, no trees around, or no one outside. I had walked past the house door and my rear window was busted. We contacted Nissan and they said because there is not a recall, there is nothing they can do.

Owner of 2025 Nissan Rogue rock creek. On 11/03/2025 3pm temperature 45-47 degrees. Car was parked and all of a sudden rear window exploded. I called the dealer and told them they said they had nothing on recalls of defect. I did make a claim with my insurance geico and did report it to Nissan also case# 55966563. Upon online research there is multiples of incidents with the sale exploding issue on various years but all same model: Rogue.
