1 Headlights problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/24/2021

I have been pulled over twice now because of passenger headlight out, and also the license plate lights out. When I went to replace bulbs both lights were in working order. The headlight was working when I first started driving. It quit while in motion. The license plate light quit working on a different occasion and I am not 100% sure if it worked when I first started to drive. I was pulled over and given a ticket. The next day I went to nearest auto parts store and purchased new bulbs. When I went to replace both bulbs they were both working. I obviously am unable to say if they both quit while driving, however I now check all lights before driving anywhere.

2 Headlights problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/23/2020

On the evening of sept. 23, 2020, I was on a city street in mystic and had extreme difficulty seeing, to the point where I hit a curb. My passenger asked me if I had my headlights on and I assured her I had, but it did not appear that we could see clearly at all. She thought I probably had plastic headlight covers that had discolored took car to Nissan dealership and established that was the problem but they could not just remove "glaze" from outside since glaze was inside the headlight. Quoted $1,000 to repair. Called Nissan headquarters and they agreed to adjust cost to approximately $500; I will have repair done since I need to drive at night on occasion; however, this is a totally unsafe situation if left unaddressed. I do believe this was a serious safety hazard and probably should be a "recall issue".

7 Headlights problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/30/2018

I reported my steamed up headlight assemblies to Nissan while performing oil change and tire rotations early on after my purchase which was 12302016 so end of year model clearance. The moisture in the headlamp affected night visibility. Felt safety concern but told the small weep hole was part of the product design. Why would any manufacturer put a weep hole on the headlamp if it is sealed w/ gaskets & engine compartment assembly sealed w/ gaskets at bulb/wiring harness? while driving in snow/rain, dirty water enters the assembly causing the temporary fogging affecting vision, especially after a warm day and moisture trying to escape via evaporation. Only pure water can ever evaporate & debris dirt left behind is impossible for owner to clean as this is closed headlight assembly. Other complaint within a few years of ownership was the oxidation of the poor quality plastic used on the headlight assembly. I bought a car cover to reduce sun damage once I had issues since this affects safety/driving visibility. I cannot drive w/ high beams in a city. I only have 55k miles as I have other vehicles that I drive & am very disappointed as I must now replace the entire two headlight assemblies but do not want any oem product as I see their product as deffective and poor design. Major safety concern with visibility when using headlights which is ok if on due to rain during the daytime but night time visibility is terrible. Reported finally up the chain at Nissan but want to report to your safety division. I cannot believe they were able to get away with this design flaw & dismiss our concerns over safety for years. Told $2,000 for them to replace but I don't want their defective headlight assemblies so now forced to research and purchase elsewhere with no weep hole. All headlamps should be factory sealed and whoever thought this was a way to avoid issues with poorly manufactured and sealed headlight steam complaints just made situation worse!.

8 Headlights problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/22/2018

I started noticing the headlights not turning on upon start up in my garage, they have been set on auto turnon since I bought it in August. Driving on cloudy, overcast, foggy days not turning on. Nov. 22, approx. 6 pm, started car, could see that headlights were on with drl on. Put in gear, backed out, on a city street, drove down street on headlights went off. Had to park, turn vehicle on/off, turn headlights on/off manually before they came back on. They were set on auto when this happened. Took it in to dealer Nov. 26, they said no recalls/updates and working. Took off, drove 15-20 minutes and the dash/radio/headlights all blinked off then back on. ??? obviously this is a major safety issue when they go off in the dark and I'm driving. Radio/maps issue. The radio randomly stops playing. One time touched maps button to turn off and the whole thing froze up. Radio not working, maps not working. I was driving down the highway/or city street when this happens. Totally random events. After it had been turned off for approx. 20 minutes, restarted car and it was working again. On Nov. 23 radio quit playing again. I've already taken it into the dealer 2 times for this issue. Drove straight to dealer, setup to take in Nov. 26. They checked it no new updates, opened technical ticket and was told they would call me. Called me later that afternoon, said Nissan aware of the issue and working on a fix which could be new update ( no good), maybe replace the radio or the computer in the car. No dates given as to when this might happen. Told just go ahead and drive it. This has happened multiple times when driving. What with this radio issue and now the headlight issue something needs to be done.

10 Headlights problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/24/2018

Brake warning light comes on dashboard and makes beeping sound when brake is not on, while I'm driving. Its been leaking under the dashboard by the foot pedals, almost every time we get a good rain shower in florida. When I get in after a rain and drive, it plus in on my feet or the passenger side. 11 Headlights problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

Car was bought in March 2018. Around 1 month into driving the car the radio and dash display starting doing its own thing. One would say radio on, the other radio off. At times, the connection menu would come and freeze. Got into the car and started it and the cd started playing loudly, which was strange as when I parked and got out of the car I always turn the radio off. Blind spot indicator failed several times when passing a tractor trailer. While driving at night with a storm coming the headlights and dash lights went out along with lights going dim for no reason several other times. Had one instance when pulled the wipers to clean the windshield, the sprayer worked but the wipers did not. Alot of electrical issues. Took to dealer 4 times in a month so they could "duplicate" the problems, I advised that there is no pattern to these problems. They told me to call Nissan USA in tennessee, I did and went back and forth and they sent a Nissan tech to the dealership. He didn't drive the car and advised we delete all phones from the car and drive it that way for a few weeks. All problems still going on. Nissan USA called today and said to go back to the dealer, the case is closed and the dealer maybe can work with us on it. They reassured me that we still have the warranty so these problems are still covered. All instances happened whether driving, starting or parking the car. So 4 trips, 2 rental cars and 2 days of missed work in a month and driving what we feel is an unsafe car.
