Engine fuel pump failure. Driving on busy highway engine started to stall. Had to use clutch to keep engine running, nearly missing other vehicles trying to maintain control of vehicle trying to restart engine. Immediately took to dealer and fuel pump failure diagnosed. Fuel pump being replaced right now at $700. 00.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, the engine stalled without warning. After multiple attempts,the vehicle restarted and the "check engine" warning light illuminated. The contact had independently performed a diagnosis test and the test read a code of p0335 which indicated that the crankshaft positioning sensor had potentially caused the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign:07v527000(engine and engine cooling). The approximate failure mileage was 127,000. Gb.
: the contact stated while the vehicle is at an idle in heavy traffic, the engine stalled and would not restart. The vehicle was pushed aside out of traffic, and after an extended period of time, the engine restarted. The vehicle was seen by a dealer who replaced the crank sensor. After the replacement, the problem persisted. The dealer could not find a probelm. Updated 09/13/06.
