The car's airbag dashboard light has been on and blinking for about a month now- indicating an issue. I have not been in any recent accidents and it appeared on its own. Subsequently, the car horn does not work. Airbags and car horn are necessary to prevent accidents and serious injury, including death in the event of an accident. I advised my local Nissan dealership who stated there are no current recalls and the car would need to be inspected- which will likely be costly. No inspections have been made at this time.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while the daughter was driving approximately 45 mph the vehicle crashed into the rear of a second vehicle. During the crash the front end of the vehicle was severely damaged but no airbags deployed. No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,000.
Driver air bag sensor light came on. The dealership reset it several times but it continues to come on. We paid the money to have them put the car on the diagnostic system. They are saying after review, the airbag needs to be replaced. It costs $1500 to replace the airbag. Which makes zero sense. The car has never been wrecked. Reports have shown issues with airbags in hundreds of thousands of Nissans. The 2008 Nissan Sentra needs to be reviewed for an airbag recall. This is extremely dangerous.
Vehicle air bag began flashing and horn stopped working when pressed.
Air bag started flashing and has not stopped. I noticed there are several complaints regarding the airbags in this type of vehicle and I am waiting to see that this is investigated and help with a recall due to the cost of attempting to fix this when it could well be a factory defect. I also had to repair the transmission a year and a half ago when while on the freeway started having issues ending in the Nissan dealer in utah short of $3500 later after they determined it has to be replaced because of a malfunction due to a cooling system problem, which needed a cooling device of some sort in order to prevent it from overheating, which is exactly what happened to my car.
Transmition is not responding. When is hot loses all the power to 30mph. A whying noise.
The driver air bag flashing red light when I was driving and never going off also the horn doesn't work. Also the engine burn a lot oil and I don't see any leaks.
I was coming to a complete stop and the breaks did not stop the car forcing me to hit someone. I always had trouble with the breaks with forced me to change them every so often. This time was tough.
Driver airbag has come on and will not turn off. Bag has never deployed but I'm afraid it won't if I get into an accident. Dealership wants to charge me about $800 to diagnose and repair if I agree.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while parked, the front passenger curtain and door air bags deployed when the door was closed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 107,537.
The air bag check light began blinking for no reason at all just before the car hit 60,000 miles. It continues to blink and I now have to pay the dealership $75 to determine why it is blinking. To me this is a manufacturer issue given there was no incident that triggered this event.
The driver of a 2008 Nissan Sentra was stationary in a level parking lot. When shifting the vehicle from drive to park, the passenger side curtain air bag and passenger seat air bag deployed. The only occupant in the vehicle was the driver and no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was not involved in a collision and no signs of damage visible to the exterior of the vehicle. Currently, Nissan does not have a recall for air bags deploying without collision but has issued voluntary service campaign id # pm952 that addresses side curtain air bags that may be incorrectly positioned during vehicle assembly. The vehicle is currently at a local Nissan dealer pending service work and Nissan USA has been contacted by the driver to file a safety complaint. The failure occurred at approximately 67,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, a vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. The vehicle began to spin into the median where two other vehicles crashed into the contact's vehicle from the front driver and passenger side door areas. The police reported to the scene and a report was filed. The contact was unconscious and transported to the hospital via ambulance. The contact sustained bruising and various fractures to her cervical bones. The vehicle was destroyed. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. Updated 05/15/lj.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and unoccupied, the four air bags equipped on the front passenger's side deployed without any impact. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for a diagnosis. In may of 2009, the vehicle was repaired under a manufacturer voluntary recall. The vehicle had not been repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
As slowing down at intersection the passenger air bags unexpectedly deployed the side and seat ones but not the front one.
