My 2013 Sentra it began to jerk and lose power while driving. The car revs up to 5000rpms went back down to between 3000 and 4000rpms. I drove to the nearest auto shop aamco. The mechanic said to see if it was under warranty. He said there were known problems with the cvt. We drove home and I called Nissan (8883880318) and spoke to a representative. He asked for the VIN and told me there was a "campaign" on this car. I asked him was a campaign and a recall the same thing, he said they were the same, different words. . He told me the cvt needed to be reprogrammed. He gave me a dealership. I called, made an appointment for 9:00am this morning. We took the car in, was told the car had been reprogrammed. We drove away from the dealership, got about one block and the car began to jerk and lose power like before. We turned around and went back to the dealership. I told the representative the car was still jerking and losing power. She said I would have to pay $99. 00 for a diagnostic test. I did not pay for the test because the Nissan representative on the phone told me the repair would be at no charge. When we got home, I called Nissan, again. I was told I could not talk to the representative I talked to yesterday. This time, I was told there was no warranty left because I had 82,000 miles on the car. He told me the warranty stopped at 60,000 miles. I told him the representative I spoke to yesterday told me it was covered and I had looked online and Nissan had added to the warranty to 10 years or 120,000 miles. He said that is not for my car and I could join a class action lawsuit. I told him I don't want to join a class action lawsuit, I need my car repaired. Please hold Nissan accountable to fix these unsafe cars, because, Nissan knows there is a wide spread problem with the cvt's. This is unfair.
When driving my car on the highway or city streets, I lose speed and can't use pedal to accelerate to pick up any speed. Car won't go pass 20 mph.
Vehicle has been having acceleration problems since first bought from carmax. Transmission was replaced under warranty but vehicle is still not accelerating when going up hills. This vehicle is a major safety problem and liability issue. Carmax has failed to address it further and fix it.
My vehicle has had ongoing issues with acceleration and the rpms going past what it should under normal circumstances. This issue occurs specifically when I accelerate. On January 21, 2018, as I was merging on to the highway trying to accelerate, my speed would not increase initially and my rpms were past 5. This is extremely dangerous and concerning as I was told by Nissan that my transmission is in proper working order after having been replaced once already. My car doesn't function properly and I went to a transmission specialist who also said that my transmission is slipping. I presented this information to the Nissan specialist who stated it wasn't and it is fine. However, I've had instances where the vehicle does not operate the way it should under normal conditions and prior to having transmission problems.
Takata recall, I have had my vehicle for two years and every couple months while idling it will turn off. After turning off the car won't go over 15 miles per hour. I have taken the vehicle in and no one can give me an answer. It's has happened in the middle of busy roads and I am lucky I have been hurt yet. Please check this out for me thanks.
While driving the car would lose acceleration. The first time it had happen it was around April 2017 on a hot day. I thought maybe me turning the air on plus with the heat that it was the reason for the malfuction, but then it did it again a few days later while I was turning onto a busy intersection. I took it to a close friend of mine to ask if he had any known solutions to why I am losing acceleration while driving. But he didn't know of any. So for a while it was driving normal. . . At least I thought. My daughter had used the vehicle and I forgot to tell her about the acceleration issue, but she almost got into an accident due to the lost of acceleration. I then started paying more attention and was going to take it somewhere professional to get it looked at. Unfortunately I did not get it looked at fast enough as the acceleration went out again and caused me to have an accident. As I was driving and coming around a curve the acceleration once again left and as I have done in the past hit the pedal multiple times to try to get it to rev up so that I can drive. Only this time and after hitting the pedal multiple times it jerked and rev hard which startled me and I loss control of the car. My car flipped over 3 times. By the grace of god I survived. Puzzled and trying to get my self back on my feet I started to research what potentially could have been wrong with that car only to learn that I was not the only person who experienced this with Sentras. I am glad others was safe, but I also feel that when I purchased this car from carmax that any and all recalls should have been pointed out to me. Or at least something from Nissan due to me being a new owner pointing out any issues they had with these cars. This not only traumatized me it also cause me to be labeled with insurance compaines as (at fault) driver. Meaning my insurance payments have skyrocketed.
I brought my car into the dealer today for service on two recalls, the cvt, and the passenger airbag. These recalls are updating the computer. On my way home from the dealer, my car would not accelerate properly. When I would remove my foot from the accelerator and reapplied it, there was a long delay in the acceleration. Due to this delay I was almost in an accident, because I was not able to accelerate out of the way of an oncoming car. By blowing my horn, I got the attention of the other driver and I avoided the accident. I called the dealer and spoke to the service manager to explain what happened. Tomorrow morning I am bringing the car back in to have it checked out.
Purchased a 2013 Nissan Sentra with around 45820 miles on it. 2 weeks later the transmission goes out. They replaced because it was still under warranty. Received it back with problems. Rpm would go up past 5 when acceleraring or passing. Complained and never received a call back was told that was normal. . Problem continues. Even had a supervisor test drive and was told nothing was out of order. Contact corporate they send me to a new dealer and its gears that are not shifting correctly. Solution another transmission this time they expect me to pay but they are willing to pay half. Unacceptable for a problem I been complaining about since receiving the vehicle back. Obvious defect in transmission for nisan or in mechanics that work for them.
Left rear tail light was broken, moisture affected propulsion causing an immediate inability to sustain any acceleration almost resulting in an accident with the sudden loss of power while vehicle was in motion.

The contact stated that there was an intermittent failure progressing with the cv-t transmission which was causing a strong jerking vibration, slow change gears to shift which had caused the contact to have to change gears from drive to park and back to drive to try to prevent the failure which had not worked in most instances when the failure was happening. In addition, the vehicle failed to pick up speed upon changing gears.
