general problems of the 2014 Nissan Sentra - part 1

Transmission clutches are swollen and would make car loose throttle but I’m not to sure I got everything checked out new throttle busy and all so idk why my car hesitate to get up to speed or looses throttal.

My moonroof spontaneously exploded while driving to work on the interstate. There was a very loud boom that sounded like a bomb or tire exploding and then glass started raining down on me while driving. Luckily, my children were not with, as there were small pieces of glass throughout the interior cabin including the back seat where they sit. I was driving alongside a semi when it happened and was at about the mid point of the semi's length. I initially thought the semi's tire blew and debris hit a passenger side window until the glass started falling on me. I live in michigan. The temperature was around 30 degrees to 32 degrees. No snow, rain, or ice was on the moonroof or on the road that could have been kicked up to cause the break. The road and adjacent ground were completely dry. I parked in the garage overnight and had been on the road approximately 15 minutes when it happened. I was driving approximately 76 mph. This is the second time my moonroof exploded with this vehicle. The first time happened approximately 5+ years ago and the glass was replaced by a local glass shop under an insurance claim with progressive insurance. With the first incident, the result was a round hole maybe 9" in diameter, so I thought a large rock hit it. I was completely distraught over it, pulled over to the side of the road in morning rush hour traffic, and searched for a rock in the car. I found nothing. At the time of the first incident, it happened during a warmer michigan month; though, I do not recall the specific timeframe. It was well above 50 degrees when it happened. I had been on the road for maybe 10 minutes and was driving approximately 70 mph. Now that it has happened a second time, I am absolutely convinced both incidents were due to a vehicle flaw. It happened yesterday, 12/11/2023. I have an appointment on 12/14/2023 with graff Nissan in okemos to have it reviewed. I am looking for a new vehicle because I'm scared to drive it.

The transmission is flawed and a safety hazard as it goes out at very low miles and stops working in traffic causing accidents to nearly happen. When I looked it up it’s very common for this to happen in this make of model.

Transmission suddenly went out while driving on a busy road after no prior issues and left me stranded. After that, it completely locked up and won’t even roll in neutral. Car was only 9 years old, 93,500 miles. Per mechanic it needs to be replaced and has seen other young Nissan transmissions with the same issues.

The check engine light keeps coming on with a p0101 indication mass or volume air flow curcuit range/ performance problem. The filter was changes, the mass air flow sensor was changes, and the pcv valve was changed but the light keeps coming on. The vehicle also will not accelerate as fast and sometimes will not go over a certain speed. The vehicle sometimes startes to rolls backwards when in drive when idling. The vehicle also shakes when slowing down from a higher speed I. E. When you are on the freeway and then have to slow to lower speeds no matter how much distance you give. I have almost been rear ended and run backwards at the light because the vehicle goes backwards then goes forward. This is not safe for 2014 nissian owners.

I currently have a 2014 transmission Sentra sv. I am currently in need of a transmission. This would be the 2nd transmission. Nissan corporate is stating that there is nothing that they can do for me they are very unprofessional and unapologetic on the issue that they have with their transmission. I I have contacted the head quarters to see if they could at least pay for half of the cost and the super carl was very rude and stated that he was confused on what I thought that he could do. He also advise that that he was unaware of any issues with a 2014 Nissan Sentra. I advise that this was very funny since there was a law suit again Nissan because of this exact same issue. I am very disappointment in how things are going. I personally don’t have the money to get a new car nor buy a new transmission I think that since has been a knee issue Nissan should help pay or either pay for all services with the transmission.

I was driving and my car didn't speed up when I push the pedal, and the car behind me almost crash en me.

The car was having problems accelerating, and then would also drop quickly in mph while driving; both situations are really dangers to myself as the driver, my passengers as well as others on the road. I brought the Sentra to the dealership where I always get it serviced ( no warning lamps on). Upon inspection, I was told the transmission was failing, on an 8 yr old car with only 53k miles on it.

Subject: 2014 Nissan Sentra transmission Nissan has not recalled the 2014 Nissan Sentra. There are thousands of complaints online and at dealers. My warranty has expired last August 2021 and I only have 53354 milage. The dealer quoted me 4k to fix. I called Nissan corporate and they said they would cover half of cost. This car is not safe to drive it changes speeds without notice and doesn't accelerate. It goes from 65mph to 45mph. This is dangerous on the highway. The dealer and corporate are aware of the danger. Confused at why would I have to pay a dime to fix if they know there are issues with the transmission.

I was driving my 2014 nisaan Sentra sv and when merging into traffic from the off ramp as I turned and accelerated in that second the car downshifted and accelerated enough to put me in danger due to the oncoming vehicles it then shook and I had the gas pedal depressed completely the vehicle then jerked real hard and would not go thankfully the vehicles that were oncoming seen me with just enough time to almost cause a huge car accident they slowed however you could hear brakes and see people behind the first vehicle swerving due to the sudden stop because of me I was honked at cussed at flipped off someone even threw a drink at my car and it could have been way worse the vehicle would not shift I had to get out in the middle of highway to push my car into a safe zone where I was in danger not to mention I lost my job for the simple fact it was my first day at my new career in johnstown at high country beverage since I purchassed this vehicle on July 3 2021 the dealership sold me a lemon vehicle that absolutely would not pass emissions in which I had to force dealership to re issue my temp tags 3 times due to the failed attemps and they would not give me my money back they had several attemps and chances to fix the issue in which they never did ive spent hundreds of dollars out of my pocket to figure it out and finally Jan 2022 I was able to pass emissions , then shortly after in Feb 2022 the car kept dying out and reading p0101 p0102 code mass air flow sensor and low circut current I spent 400 dollars to fix this issue theres more.

The car will not shift into third or accelerate over 2,000 rpms.

The check engine light came on while on highway. Attempted to put vehicle in reverse in a busy parking lot but it would not shift. Car is a 2014 Nissan Sentra with only 73700 miles. Mechanic says the transmission is stuck in "fail mode". The car shuddered ever since it was purchased. Dealer suspects the transmission pump is failing.

Loss of power, transmission jerking, transmission slipping,a big rattle noise, error message being displayed. We believe that it is the cvt transmission. It was in motion when all occurred.

Transmission slipping, hesitating, and lunging. Some times causes sudden acceleration or deceleration, almost causing accidents. Car is also starting to make abnormal sounds from time to time, which started when the transmission issues started. Sometimes the car has even tried to lunge forward when brake is applied in a stopped position. This transmission was already changed once because original owner complained of lack of acceleration. The car only has 50k on it. Taking it to Nissan service center this weekend! but I can imagine what I'm going to hear.

When I acel�rate it shakes a little.

Cvt transmission needs to be replaced. Car purchased may 31, 2019 at 114174 miles. Car currently has 151232 miles. Dealership did not mention the class action lawsuit with the cvt transmission at the time of purchase.

2014 Nissan Sentra automatically turned off while parked on 9/26/20, jerked, revved and shook while in motion between 1 and 2 rpm on 10/15/2020, 10/20/2020 and 10/21/2020.

The battery and transmission are failing, this car has been giving me issues since I purchased the vehicle. No one cares to help me and I've still been having issues with to this day.

2017 I had an transmission replace at 50,000 miles. There is no way that a transmission should go out in a car so fast. Here I am again in 2020 my transmission went out again. I have called consumer service for help with they defective part they refuse to help me. I was told that they couldn't do anything because the millage. It has been sitting up for a year and I'm still paying my notes and unable to drive the car. This is know fault to me because the transmission is a defective product. I have seen and looked at videos of people having the same problem I have but yet Nissan dose not want to offer help to there customers. I don't understand why there isn't a recall on these cvt transmission. Nissan make a horrible product and the customer have to suffer. This is not right for other to take advantage of other. Nissan have sold me a lemon or flooded out car. I come here for my complaints because no one is trying to help me. There is a pandemic out here and can't afford to pay car note and get it repaired. While traveling at approx. 30 mph turning at the end of an exit ramp off the interstate highway, the vehicle suddenly slowed down as if it was shifted into first gear at a high rate of speed. I pulled off the road, turned it off and back on again but could only go 6 mph without jerking violently. After stopping, turning the car off and on again numerous times, was intermittently able to get the car to go faster than 6 mph only to have it suddenly slow down again, jerking within 1-2 minutes. It took one and a half hours to travel 16 miles back home. Not sure whats wrong. . . Transmission, speed sensors or other? I've gone online and seen other similar complaints. Why hasn't Nissan been held accountable? Nissan needs to fix this lemon !.

I got into my car after I have already took it to the Nissan dealer and got the 1 recall fixed and my check engine light has popped on again! since I have purchased this car which has been little than over 2 weeks it has had issue after issue. When driving the car sometimes it seems like it wants to cut off and while drive its like there is a turbo engine in it because it makes a loud noise when you are driving it and sometimes (most of the time) it almost seems hard to control the car while driving on the hwy.

Transmission. . . I paid back in 5/24/19 for the tranmission recontroid. . . The guarante I got it was only 90 days after 5/24/19. . . & the transmission started to failed on 1/4/20. . . I drove it the next day to work & the transmission gave up on me on the highway.

Cvt transmission is slipping causing delays to power while driving the vehicle, delays to engage when accelerating, vigorous shaking when idling as well as while driving.

Transmission issue when coming to a yield to take off again the car stalls makes a grounding noise. Then it takes off . You have to come to a complete stop first so that it doesn't hesitate. Does this when turning from yielding.

Tracmition problen.

Car's transmission was replaced in March of 2018. I have been informed by the Nissan dealership that the transmission needs to be replaced again. The transmission that was replaced, the first time, is no longer covered by the warranty. I expressed concerns that no vehicle which is serviced regularly should require another transmission in a year and a half.

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Sentra and within 6 months the transmission suddenly went out. It started acting funny on my way out of town to an appt. And within 2 hours exited the interstate and was unable to move off the ramp due to transmission going out. Press the gas pedal and nothing happened no raving or rpm movement nothing. Finally I shut her off for about 5 minutes restarted put her in drive and she jerked and lunged across intersection. She then threw the engine light on for transmission issues. Prior to stopping and lunging not so much as a light had come on. The car acted like it had gotten bad gas a time or two but otherwise no warning or anything prior.

While in motion my vehicle is jerking and stalling. This is not safe especially when you're doing about 55 mph. This has been going on for a few months. I am not sure what the issue is but I see there are others with the same complaint and they are saying its the transmission. If it is then Nissan needs to take responsibility and something has to be done!.

I have a 2014 Nissan Sentra sv. Last week at just over 100k miles my transmission went out on my car. I have the cvt transmission and my car has always been well taken care of. Nissan claims the transmission ian out of warranty. When my transmission went out I was going 65mph on the freeway and my car completely stopped. There is so much jerking and tugging. It is a safety risk and Nissan needs to take responsibility for the defect on the cvt in these cars. They now want almost $4000 for a new transmission to be put in which will most likely still be defective.

My brake system has unknown problem . I had a mechanic replace all brake componets including pad rotors shoes drums ect. And I still pedal fade and unreliable braking when appling brakes . This happens at various speeds and conditions.

Transmission is slipping car shakes problems began at about 90,000 miles.
