general problems of the 2015 Nissan Sentra - part 1

No check engine lights or any kind of warning signs. My car randomly will jerk, lose power, accelerate, and makes noises! issue caused car to slow down rapidly and I was almost rear-ended twice this week! I don't feel safe in my car!.

My car's transmission gave out in November 2023. It was returned the day before thanksgiving. For the second time on January 11, 2024, the transmission blew. It was towed to the dealership where they notified me that the car would need another transmission. The car received another transmission and the car was returned to me on February 13, 2024. On February 14, 2024, after only driving 65 miles the car stalled after exiting the highway during rush hour. The car would not accelerate properly and was jerking. The car wouldn't accelerate past 15 mph. I was able to get the car to a safe location where I parked and called to get the car towed back to the dealership. On February 15, 2024, the dealership notified me that the transmission blew again. There were no warning signs or lights when the car stalled. It was driving fine until I exited the highway and was sitting at a red light. When I tried to accelerate at the change of the light the car jerked and would not pick up speed past 15 mph. Having my system fail unexpectedly in the middle of traffic put me and my passengers in danger.

I’m getting the code p0101 which is saying I have a bad maf sensor. I have replaced this sensor and im still having problems. Getting worse than average gas mileage, engine rpm’s going crazy while accelerating. Not idling properly, hesitant and jerky movements. I’m getting tired of searching every little thing and I know lots of people with this same problem. Sounds like a manufacturers mistake.

Mass air flow sensor code keeps coming on. I have replaced the sensor with the Nissan brand and the check engine light comes on again being the maf sensor. Also the radio screen is blank.

The transmission started with acceleration speed issues, after about a week, it started stuttering and failing to accelerate at all. Today the car would not accelerate through a traffic light which could have caused an accident. A mechanic has confirmed that the transmission is the issue. Initially there were no check engine lights or anything that showed up but now the check engine light is on.

1. Engine malfunction/transmission: yes, the car is available for inspection upon request. 2. While driving the car on the road the car begins to hesitate and wanted to stall in moving traffic. Had to pull over vehicle over until it was safe to try and preceded. This problem has continued and now feeling no longer safe to drive on the road. We have a small child, and our car is our main mode of transportation and right now we are without transportation because of this faulty situation with the transmission and we definitely want to make sure that we have a safe vehicle for our family and not to cause an incident with other drivers due to the car stalling. Currently the car sits in the driveway. 2015 Nissan Sentra 89,575 3. Yes, the problem has been reproduced by a Nissan dealer here in our area. 4. Vehicle was towed to a Nissan dealership 5. Vehicle has been inspected by mechanic at Nissan. 6. No warning lights came on and prior to this we had not experienced any symptoms from the engine. First noticed maybe around last week of July.

I recently encountered a distressing situation with my Nissan Sentra, where the cvt (continuously variable transmission) unexpectedly failed, resulting in the need for my car to be towed. This unforeseen incident left me stranded and unable to operate my vehicle. The failure of the cvt transmission not only caused inconvenience but also posed safety concerns as the car became inoperable. This particular year make and model has been known to have transmission issues. Has this been resolved and/or covered by Nissan. The transmission currently is making a very loud whining sound.

Chech engine light came on showed maf sensor bad so replaced it changed spark plugs and ignition coils reset check engine light then warning light came on again cleared it came on several times replaces maf sensor again running fine then sitting at light started idling funny then couple days later check engine light on again getting frustrating don't know what to do now.

My transmission messed up today, not sure exactly sure what is it yet. From what the into I gathered today, my rpm goes over 1 through 2(+) thousand up while my mph either barely moves or stays the same. When parking my car in my driveway, I noticed my car moving forward while the gear it's on is reverse.

My Nissan Sentra is constantly “jerking” and “stalling” when accelerating. It’s not coming to speed and completely stopping in traffic. The vehicle seems like it’s struggle to switch gears and giving problems with the transmission. This is a very dangerous issue that needs to be resolved.

The transmission quit working in rush our traffic in st. Louis, missouri. The incident nearly caused a severe accident, if it hadn't been for two alert drivers during rush hour. After sitting for approximate sixty minutes waiting for a tow truck. Just before the the tow truck arrive another tow driver was going to pick up another vehicle "he stop to help. " the tow driver was going to tow the vehicle. He was testing to see what the problem. As he started the vehicle he put it in drive and nothing happen. After a few minutes it jump in gear. The vehicle was driven home with loosing power, surging, and rpm going up without acceleration. This happen in late November. The car continued to jerk, stall, and loose power over long trips. The car was taken to the dealership but they could do nothing until they put a device on it to read codes. This was completed December 20, 2021, I was notified to drive the vehicle for several days up to a week and bring it back to them. The vehicle was picked up and drove per dealership instruction. The car was returned after christmas. The tech perform a tcm update. They tested and drove the vehicle with myself in the car. The manager concluded the car had transmission problems that pointed to the transmission but it would not reveal a code. Until they get a code or approval from Nissan there was nothing they could. On about January 28, 2022, I was instructed to pick up the car. Also, I was instructed the car was unsafe to drive. It was bitter cold (12 degree) fifteen minutes into the drive home the service manger call (note after hours). The vehicle stalled/loss power and a multiple of problems. Approximately twenty miles away the vehicle caused an accident in which I suffer frostbite and damaged to my left hip. With the assistant of the state trooper I was safe until the tow truck from d and k arrived. The vehicle was towed back to the dealership and remain until present date, james gibson.

For a while now it jerks or pulls, and it only goes up to 1-2 gears like it doesn't want to accelerate. It doesn't shift gear properly more like transmission issues. There is no power.

I'm driving my car on the freeway and it's stalls. I barely made it to the shoulder. I waited a few minutes and drove again. Went a few miles, and again, it stalled. I made it to a safe place. Had my car towed to a mechanic. They said it was the cvt transmission.

Transmission malfunction. The car will reduced speed putting me on risk of getting hit in the back and someone colliding with me due the reduction of speed and the slowness of the car to start to gain speed. There was some jerking as gas pedal was pressed down and will slow down and then gain speed before it completely slow down to the point it will not go beyond 40 miles per hour. The car was inspected by the Nissan dealership where the car was bought and transmission is failing internally according to their findings. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership. There were no warning/message prior to this problem.

I got it check by mechanic and the transmission is going, car is making noise, is jumping and only has 90,000 miles I bought it with 37,000 on 2016 I think is too soon for the transmission to brake. Is there any help from Nissan to get my car fix.

My check engine light came on and code is mass airflow. I have replaced it 5 times as well as had the work done suggested by Nissan for the tbs that has been issued for it. It stalls while I am driving it. Which almost resulted in am accident. The only code that comes up on the scan is for the mass airflow. I have contacted Nissan and was told that they dont know what the problem is bring it to a dealership. I have had it checked and rechecked and fixed and the issue is not going away. With it now stalling as I drive this is now a safety issue. It happened on a route where the speed limit is 50 miles an hour. At this time I not only replaced sensor again but also had a mechanic clean the throttle body and do the other recommendations. The light cleared and 2 weeks later same issue happened.

I was driving on the highway and my car started to slow down I continued to press the gas but it would not accelerate as I kept trying to drive it just stop going I pull to the side the car would not go in reverse or forward,I called someone to come help and they said my transmission went out.

Mass air flow sensor was previously replaced in late July 2020 and current mass air flow sensor is failing again this one is brand new and the date is August 25th.

Car will just randomly stall in the middle of traffic I loose a power or stealing then will slowly come to a stop my breaks lock and car start clicking then shuts off. Once I sit for a bit restart it it will start up like nothing happend it had happend to me twice in less the two weeks apart. Both times happend when car ran for about 10-20 mins with no movement then once I start driving it occurs.

Transmission problems with only a 70k milage car. And 4 months later, its giving me the same problem. And they keep on having to fix it at mossy Nissan dealer.

The car doesn't want to change gear.

On 4/29/2003 I had taken my car in for an oil change soon after leaving my car began to come to a stop I attempted to drive my car would hardly move fortunately I was able to make it back to the valvoline oil change to have them tell me if my oil change was any way responsible after being given a reasonable explanation I was instructed to try and make it to a nearby autoz onei did they did a quick diagnostic I was told it was the pressure solenoid over the next week I reached out to any and everybody I even called Nissan headquarters spoke with someone that said I might qualify for a goodwill assist program, but I had to have the dealership perform a diagnostic testing I did, and found out I needed a transmission I had been driving with a faulty transmission, I am sometimes responsible for my mom to her doctor's appointment I was attempting to turn at a red light had enough time to turn car stalled in traffic which left me stuck in the middle of on coming traffic was finally able to avoid being broadsided my mom would surely have been hurt or worst no indication of having problem until it happened im sure their are others with similar issues im well aware car manufacturers will not have recall on anything that interferes with profit m.

We bought this vehicle brand new in 2016, and it seem to be a nice vehicle until it hit 30,000 miles. When we hit 30,000 miles in April 2020, the brake system failed, causing a passenger side collision, however, there were no injuries. Then in November 2020, the transmission went out. At that time we had to have the front brakes replaced as well. Then in may 2021 at 40,000 miles, we had to replace the front brakes again. In September 2021 at 50,000 miles, the front and rear brakes started grinding and needed replaced, which ended up having the abs system, abs module, brake lines, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake drums, and pads replaced. In February 2022 at 58,000 miles, while driving home, there was a loud bang from the front of the vehicle, the vehicle shuddered violently, had very little acceleration, and there was a large amount of white smoke coming from the back of the vehicle. Had the vehicle towed into the service shop, where they stated the engine block had thrown a rod through the engine. Had the engine replaced. Four days after the vehicle was returned, the front suspension collapsed on the tires. Had the front suspension replaced at 58,000 miles. August 2022, the transmission failed once again at 69,000 miles, and also had to replace the front brakes again. At 76,000 miles, in March 2023, had to once again replace front brake pads, rotors, and passenger caliper. No rear drums and pads need replaced. Vehicle abs system is nonresponsive, abs light is on once again, when, pressing the brake pedal, the vehicle does not stop just like when abs system and module was replaced prior. Emergency brake does not work as well. I have contacted Nissan several times, to which I was told they would no longer service my vehicle. Now I am wondering what to do at this point.

While driving stopped at a red light. When it changed to green stepped on accelerator pedal with no response. Brake, oil and battery lights illuminated. Was able to shift into nutral and push vehicle to a safe location. Turns vehicle off, attempted to restart. Vehicle turns over but will not start.

No power, no shifting gears, pulsating, hot smell, rpm goes down when vehicle is accelerated, loss of speed while in motion on the highway and roadways.

"takata recall" this issue has nothing to do with current recall. My issue is regarding the transmission. Initial issue happened prior to 50k miles, original transmission failed. Replaced by Nissan, 2nd transmission failed at 96k miles, Nissan wanted to replace again. Requested they take vehicle back. Saw lemon law info showing issues from 2012 - 2018. Fyi vehicle stopped 1st time on freeway. 2nd time in middle of busy intersection both times had to be towed.

When the car is in motion and at any speed, when pressing the gas pedal the car will randomly and without warning lose acceleration for an unknown amount of time even though the gas pedal is all the way to the floor. This happens on the highway and on any roads.

Car loses power to console only at times and others the hole car loses power while driving losing all control of car while in motion.

The weather strips on the passengers doors come off.

My cvt transmission went out at 81,361. I took it to 4 different repair shops, one of them being the Nissan dealer I got the car from. All agreed it was a faulty transmission. I was told by the Nissan service department that Nissan would not cover any replacement or repairs, but could repair and replace the transmission for $4800. 00. I went to a different auto repair shop in town and they could do the repair for $2800. 00. I chose to go with the less expensive amount due to the fact that I was told by the Nissan service center I would not get any reimbursement form Nissan for the repair. Now that I have paid $3000. 00 at the other place and opened a case with Nissan's complaint department I was told by Nissan's complaint dept. If I had chose to get it fixed at a Nissan service center they would have covered it. As I stated to the last Nissan rep. If I had been told they would cover it I would have used Nissan's service and not another place. The place I chose is ase certified and Nissan certified to repair my vehicle. They did put in a transmission and within two weeks the replacement transmission was faulty, so now I have had 2 replacement transmissions put in my car. I see many complaints on Nissan's web site regarding the cvt transmissions in 2015 Sentras. How can a recall be issued for what is apparently a mass problem that Nissan will not admit they have? thank you.

I was in motion when all of a sudden my car started to hesitate and not speed up. I can't remember exactly when it happened but it was a few months ago. I have tried to take care of this matter with Nissan corporation but they were not helpful and not being cooperative. I also took my car to a transmission specialist near where I live and they stated it is the transmission that went very bad. I no longer have the vehicle in my possession because I refuse to pay an arm and a leg for a faulty transmission that was beyond my control to get it repaired and I was sold a lemon vehicle.
