My mechanic advised that the list price for the headlight assembly is $1,100 and the labor to put the headlight in was $300. They said that there is no access to the low beam led headlight bulb. The assembly had to be replaced. I could afford to pay $1,400 to replace a light bulb, but many people could not afford it and would do without. I only paid $6,500 for this car with 130,000 miles on it. My suggestion is that auto manufacturers should be required to design headlights so that they can be economically maintained. I was able to find an assembly for $342 and install it myself. Not everyone would be able to do that.
