The competent that continues to fail is the emergency response breaks. They continue to stop at random times creating a very unsafe environment while I drive daily. I do have this on video and my car is available for inspection at any time. I just recently finally got the emergency break system on video since it is so random and plan on making an appointment with my local Nissan dealer. I did have a visit recently regarding the recall for the tire rods. My car continues to make odd sounds and I paid over $1000 to get it fixed with all new tires. These problems have began since the day I got my car. I have bought over 10 wheels due to issues with the tire rods. The video we finally were able to get was last night regarding the emergency stop systems, it does not let me add to the complaint but I can send to any email if needed as well as the local Nissan dealer did inspect and work on the car for my tires and tire rods.
Steering wheel vibrates and has become difficult to steer. Occurs often. While on the freeway, vehicle has come to a stop in 2 different occasions, it just stopped for 4-5 seconds. Back up camera is blurred, mainly in the center.
Automatic emergency brake engaged while driving when there was not a car directly in front of me. There were no obstructions on the road and cars in the lanes next to me were not merging into my lane.
My abs light randomly come on along side of traction control, front and rear collision assistance lights. Car has had electrical problems since I got it such as sometimes bright headlights won’t come on( they just stay on the dim regardless of what you do) the radio will just freeze and not work at all. Have to unhook the battery to get radio to even reset or even wait days for it to do it itself. Do not recommend this car. Nothing but electrical problems since I’ve gotten it. And it only have 50,000 miles and all regular maintenance has been done.
The automated break system came on while I was driving 2 times within 3 days without anything being in front, the back or on the side of the car. When this happened there was a few beeping noise and a quick red flash on the dashboard that said maintenance. This started happening the next day after getting an oil change from the Nissan dealership. My safety was at risked because when the car suddenly and unexpectedly stopped it jerked my body forward causing my neck to become sore. This can cause greater injury or worst if I was going any faster. If someone was behind me it could cause them to crash into me which would be doing the opposite of the purpose of the safety feature. I took the car in to the dealership and nothing could be done because there wasn't a code and it didn't happen in the presence of the mechanic. It could be a sensor issue but I don't know and the mechanics seem to be just as clueless and very dismissive. I find this to be unacceptable that I must drive around with a car that can break abruptly at any given time. I do not feel safe driving this car and it should be a safety recall on this issue. I looked online and seen other people complaining about the same issue so I'm sure Nissan knows what's going on and aren't doing anything about it.
While driving, car brakes by itself. There were no cars in front or behind. Red light flash on dashboard and then snatched brakes by itself. Another time, someone came close behind me and my car stopped by itself again nearly causing the driver to run into the back of me. Sensor light come on. Doesn't recognize my key. It's been reset but same problem.
I was traveling at about 40mph when my vehicle, with no traffic in sight, had the automatic emergency brake go off and reduced my speed to 32mph. My safety concern is what if this happens on the freeway or even while raining. If there was a car behind me what if it caused them to get road rage. ***dashcam video available***.
This has happened twice while driving down the road, 2021 Nissan Sentra aeb system locked up the brakes with nothing in front of vehicle to cause the system to be activated.
So while driving my car, no car infront of or anything running out in the road. Going 45 mph my car automatically slammed on brakes by itself. Causing the car behind me to swing around me to avoid hitting me in my rear. A similar situation happened back in may 2023 resulting me to put the car in the shop & was told it was corrected.
The aeb system will activate sporadically in traffic and open road (I. E interstate) this can cause a serious crash if the car locks it up running 70 mph and tries to emergency stop it has been to the dealer for this issue with no resolve no prior warning when this happens and has been continuously more frequent since 30k miles.
1. Automatic emergency braking - system - system failed /or malfunctioned car is available for examination (28,000 miles) 2. Collision alert sounded, with warning indicator (red bar with two white bars below), emergency braking triggered (no apparent abs, but driver felt the vehicle decelerate), stopped the vehicle, and turned the vehicle engine off (electrical systems remained on). The vehicle was traveling on a city street at approximately 35 mph at a slight incline, at dusk. No signs, pedestrians, other vehicles, or signs within visible distance present in front of the vehicle, or on either side of the road. There were no obstruction, debris, speed bumps, trees or pot holes on either side of the road within visible distance in front of the vehicle. Injuries may have occurred if another car was closely following, or could not stop in time. 3. The problem has been reported to the suntrup Nissan (dealer from whom we purchased the vehicle) and Nissan consumer affairs (case 49477214). The consumer affairs representative did not seem to understand the problem (initially thought it was abs)or safety concern though (she said we should not worry as the vehicle was under waranty). We are awaiting a call back from the dealer though. However, in searching for an explanation we saw similar issues reported by a law firm (lemonlawexperts. Com) 4. Vehicle has not been inspected. 5. This was the first such incident we experienced in the car. Other than the warning alert during the incident, there was no indication of this problem. The car had been in for routine service about a month ago though. At the service I mentioned the radio spontaneously turning off while traveling in a parking lot, and then turning back on a minute or two later in the same parking lot. To our knowledge the only repair work was a faulty window switch that was replaced.
Automatic emergency braking has happened 3 times in the last 2 months without any reason. The 1st time there was a person who stepped off a side walk but I wasn’t to close to them. The last 2 times there was nothing around and all 3 times I was doing 40 or less. What happens if it happens doing 65+ on the highway. I’m worried this is going to cause someone to rear end me because it happens so suddenly with no warning really. I have made an appointment with the dealership.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving 35 mph, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,382.
For the past two years, an emergency brake has been activated when an object, such as a car, is close to my front bumper. This is excellent, but occasionally the sensor activates when nothing is in front of me, which is risky and causes my brake pads to wear out more quickly than they should. When I took this up with the Nissan dealer two years ago, they claimed to have rectified it, but they didn't. When I went to another dealership because I was dissatisfied with the service at the prior, I brought up the issue and asked if they could turn off this feature. They said that there wasn't much they could do. They gave it a test drive and found nothing, but since this only occasionally occurs, it is difficult to keep track of it without keeping the car for several weeks, which I cannot afford to do. This seems recall worthy.
Brake system failed. Car brake petal was all the way to the floor and grinding to stop. The car didn’t fully stop. Car has be inspected 3 times by dealership. No warning lights on. The car automatic brake goes off randomly and breaks out of no where and put me at risk with causing an accident it has been inspected by dealer as well and this continues to happen. Car jerks and looses power while drive check engine light comes on and blinks. The car has been seen twice by dealer for this issue nothing resolved. Almost caused a major accident first time on freeway and again on a busy intersection. Car is very unsafe and not reliable.
Intermittently the automatic emergency braking system randomly engaging with no obstructions present.
Aeb system activated on it's own, 3 times randomly ,brakes slam on for no reason while driving at normal speed. It is available for inspection. If there was a vehicle in behind me there would have been an accident. We just took it tothe dealship to have the system checked and they could not find a problem. It has not been inspected by a manufacturer or others. No warning lights or symptoms prior to failure. I can no l,onger drive this car with confidence.
Deadly.
My car has been hacked. I know the hacker was able to get my VIN number bec he hacked my computer also (and I had to enter the information to setup autopay etc through my finance company). The hacker has been messing with the brakes which makes me afraid that it will force me into an accident. He is also messing with my rpm (I believe): there's resistance when I'm accelerating.
10/5/21-first noticed something was wrong while backing up veh. Warning signal going off showing driver side rear nothing behind me at the time all clear figured it was just ? I reversed anyway and took off to store while on my way home around 2:30ish while driving about 30-40mph vehicle suddenly activated the automatice emergency braking system red lights on dash indicating it was activated at the time there was no vehicle in front of me! I was approaching a railroad crossing at the time I had my son in the front seat after a few seconds the vehicle released the brakes and I proceeded home of course I was shaken up and had questions as to what was going on? took to dealer 2 days later dealer kept there for over 5 hours and during veh. Updates via text from dealer was told they were going back and forth with Nissan corp. Via email on trying to receive assistance as to how to go about repairing the issue, was also told to pick up veh. Drive for a week and return to check if other codes were noted? so they admit there were codes indicating there was a problem. Not a week yet to return to dealer until next week however I drive over 50miles a day commute to work and I am very scared these days to drive I also have clients I must transport in my personal veh. For work purposes what if someone gets hurt? its so stressful. Im worried!any suggestions? also, on NHTSA website I found by VIN number the veh. Made 2nd,4th and 6th in order after mine which is 0 this is suspicious and troubling.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the automatic emergency braking system engaged while there were no nearby vehicles or pedestrians. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the message "system malfunction" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
I was driving at 55 mph this morning while taking my child to the bus stop when the emergency braking system kicked on out of nowhere almost causing me to lose control of the car. There were no vehicles in front of me or any obstruction that would have caused this to occur. The recall for the blind spot sensors has already occurred on this vehicle as well. It is a danger to not only myself but potentially other vehicles that could have been following me to have a vehicle abruptly stop like it did which in then endangered myself and my children.
