There are issues with the sensors. Specifically, the collision sensors. I have owned a 2022 Nissan Sentra for a few months now and multiple times have had the traction control malfunction warning, front collision sensor malfunction warning, and back collision sensor malfunction warning appear. In turn, this makes other safety features like the lane departure warning malfunction as well. This is a safety risk because first, the point of collision sensors is to minimize the risk of being in an accident. Second, if the sensors are corroding or have issues it can cause a fire or damage other aspects of the vehicle. I payed for multiple reports of the car. I assumed it was in an accident and the dealership did not disclose it. As the issue becomes more persistent it is clear that is what the car does. Malfunction.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving from a complete stop at an intersection, the vehicle shut off. The contact stated that while attempting to restart the vehicle, the message indicating a malfunction was displayed. The check engine, abs, and battery warning lights, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart. A police officer assisted the contact in blocking traffic to prevent a crash. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that the failure had been a recurring failure while driving and while the vehicle was idling. The vehicle was jump-started. The vehicle was taken to auto zone, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that there was a water flowing sound coming from the rear of the vehicle while driving. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000. The VIN was not available.
Window child locks randomly locks windows in position. There's no reason for it to lock them. I've never tried to engage them on purpose since I have no children. Sometimes pushing the child lock hard several times will allow them to unlock but it may lock in that position so I really can't use 3 windows.
Battery drained overnight after a day of normal use. Upon trying to start the vehicle, there is a message that states the key is not present and to get it near the push-button. After multiple attempts, the battery was checked with a voltmeter, the battery was bellow 9-volts. The vehicle had to be jump started and taken to the dealer. Battery was replaced, the report says the electrical system is in order and that was only a faulty battery.
The battery in my car died out of nowhere. I tried to start my car leaving from work and it wouldn’t start. I initially thought the battery in my key fob was dead because the screen in my car kept saying I needed to place the key near the push to start. Even though I already placed it directly on top of the button. I got someone to jump my car and it finally started. After that the battery still is not holding a charge. I have gotten my battery jumped 3 times since then( once a day) and the dealership charged it at the service center. The service advisor confirmed the issue is with the battery. Every time I turn my car off, it won’t start again without a jump. Also I got my car serviced by Nissan for an oil change and tire rotation on 06/21/2023. And they performed a multi point inspection of my car. On the report, everything concerning my battery was marked green. Indicating that it had no issues. My Sentra is also programmed to have a warning sensor icon/ pop up if the battery is low which never came on.
The contact's son owns a 2022 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at various speeds at night, the front headlights were independently turning off. The contact had to pull over and turn off and turn on the headlight switch several times before the lights turned on. Additionally, the contact stated that her son stated that the forward collision avoidance, and the back-up sensors were also turning off independently. The contact stated that her son saw warning lights on the instrument cluster indicating that the systems were not activated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring for several years. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer for assistance. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 23v421000 (structure); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,700.
An episode of "parasitic drain" occurred again. I drove the car for two short trips yesterday, Saturday, may 27. This morning, Sunday, may 28, the battery was completely drained, and I had to use the physical key to open the door to open the hood. Ever since this exact experience occurred with the car about a year ago, I have been extra vigilant to make sure the radio, air conditioning, lights, everything, are turned off whenever I park and leave the car. I will report this as well to the dealer, hart Nissan of springfield, virginia. Thank you.
Headlights dim when pressing the accelerator, brighten when releasing pressure on the accelerator. The problem has been continuous since purchasing the vehicle five months ago. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership service department, which advised they observed no issue.
Clicking / popping noises when turning the steering wheel. Diagnosis bad insulator-engine mounting harness. Rpm / idle issues and jerking while driving. Diagnosis reprogrammed engine control module. Problem still present and worse, than prior to reprogram. Cruise control slows vehicle on slight curve, no warning for drivers being no brake lights when it slows. New vehicle with so many problems and I do not feel safe. Unreliability and costly due to time missed at work, paying for a rental car and adding miles each trip to the dealership.
Vehicle inexplicably drained the battery again. For the 10th time in 1 week. Sunday November 20, 2022. The, the vehicle does not start. I take it to the dealer’s service center and they tell me there is no problem with the car or the charging system or battery. ” “car will not start. Unexplained battery depletion.
Vehicle lunges while trying to stop. In heavy rush hour traffic vehicle nearly lurches a vehicle length while slowly applying the break. For months the dealership claimed it was “functioning as expected” 7 visits later they finally determined it is the election intake valve. Dealership refuses to replace the part and it is a known issue, was sent away 2 times without it being fixed and they are aware I’m still driving it with the malfunctioning part. Huge safety risk! vehicle other issues have been erg valve, motor mount, plastic parts coming off, master control switch in the door, electric intake valve, crash detection system failure and throwing codes, many more codes not provided by the dealerships. Death trap vehicle, Nissan will not address issues. Owned for 8 months 15 visits to the dealerships 2 + months out of service and still no resolution! Nissan made a lemon, not a sound vehicle, waste of time and money!.
Case of "parasitic draw" on the battery? (I see that NHTSA issued ntb21-053b. ) car was purchased new from Nissan dealership in springfield, virginia, March 3, 2022. On Tuesday, sept. 13, roughly 5:00 p. M. , I parked in my driveway as usual. The vehicle had approximately 8,980 miles. I did not move the car all day Wednesday, sept. 14. On Thursday, sept. 15, around 11:00 a. M. , when I attempted to open the car door, the battery was completely drained. I had to use the physical key to open the door. I know for certain that the lights, including the dome light, were not on. Doors and trunk lid firmly shut and locked. (the only thing I can imagine is that I had a cell phone charger plugged into the cigarette lighter port, but the cell phone was in my possession. ) I called aaa, a technician tested the battery, and it was completely dead. (see photo 1. ) he jumped the battery and it started. I drove to the Nissan dealer where I purchased the vehicle, and they said they put the car on a charger for more than an hour, and reported the battery tested okay. (see photo 2. ) but incident was very disconcerting.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the traction control, abs, esp fault, and master brake system warning lights illuminated. The contact then stated that several other warning lights on the instrument panel started to malfunction. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the sensor had detached from the module and that the failure was possibly caused by rodents chewing through the wiring or when the vehicle had driven over a pothole causing the wiring harness failure. The contact was informed that an unknown module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact was concerned that the failure could recur. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 93,000.
At 505 miles vehicle center radio/control display failed to work also suspending the use for sensors for crash prevention. Vehicle has less than 2500 miles on it and doesn’t want to accelerate. When driving and attempting to make turns the vehicle fails to go forward with pressing the gas pedal to the ground. Vehicle continues to feel like it is going to stall, shutters at various times and is unstable when driving as the vehicle does what it wants when it wants, driver is not in control. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle.
We purchased the vehicle around December of 2021, around July of 2022 the vehicle started stalling while driving; at first it started at slow speeds driving in the neighborhood, then started happening about 4-5 times a week. Essentially, you could be driving at forward speeds of 10-50 mph, and the car would stall, intermittently a message would appear on the display with a warning sign and “vehicle stalled stop safely”. However, with each stall the warning may or may not appear. Then this started occurring at highway speeds up to 75 mph, with same intermittent warning. At time of stall you lose all power, steering gets stiff, and pressing accelerator does nothing. The warning only appears after the stall, so at that point you have lost power to the engine. We took the vehicle into reed Nissan for service, they stated diagnostics showed no errors, we cannot help. Upon another stall, we took it to universal Nissan, same comment, no diagnostic codes, so they cannot help, they did keep the car for the day to do an extended check, but said they found nothing. On the way home, the car stalled again. We contacted Nissan consumer affairs and we are still waiting to hear from Nissan. This vehicle is not safe, and will potentially cause an accident resulting in serious injury or death.
We started it one day and popped up malfunction signal and we lost power to everything.
Safety features such as front crash detection and other preventative features fail when the interior of the vehicle gets gets hot (due to climate). Among safety the cruise control, radio and center display no longer operate. Unable to use bluetooth or any vehicle settings when the screen is completely black and nonfunctional.
I was told that the throttle malfunctioned. I was driving on the highway and the car would not accelerate, the dash said malfunctioning and the cars driving beside me had to swerve around me. I took the car back to the dealership where I purchased it and was told that parts had to be ordered and that it was a throttle malfunction. The car has not been inspected by anyone except those at the Nissan dealership where it was purchased. There were no warning signs before the malfunction. In the middle of me driving the car slowed downed and would not allow me to accelerate to match the speed of the other vehicles around me (70 mph). As I continued to push the gas the lights on the dash lit up and said malfunction.
I leased a 2022 Nissan Sentra in February 2022. About two months after leasing the vehicle, I started having problems with the car battery. The car battery would die for no reason at all. I didn't leave anything on the battery would just die. I could be driving and stop and the battery would go completely dead. I've had to get my car jump-started by strangers and through my insurance company roadside so much so that my insurance company cancelled my roadside assistance coverage. I took it to the Nissan dealership several times and each time they said the battery was perfectly fine and they didn't find any issues. However, my battery kept dying and I would be stranded for long periods of times. This continued for months. It got to the point where I had to purchase jumper cables and then a portable charger. I finally contacted Nissan consumer affairs about the battery (case# 48804535) and they told me to take it to the dealership to be serviced. I made an appointment on 05/23/23 and this time the battery failed and they replaced the car battery. I wish I could say that this was the end of the problem but I was having the same issues with the new battery too. Same as before, several times. Once I stopped at gas station after getting gas the car wouldn't start the battery was dead and I had to get a jump. The car battery was still dying for no reason until another issue with the steering and tie rod occurred on 11/18/23. Something in the vehicle is causing the battery to drain. This shouldn't be happening.
On multiple occasions while driving, at traffic lights or stop signs, a light will come on the dashboard with a symbols including: place the key near the start switch --even though the car is already on and running; and other times the car will not start at all with the key next to the start switch; lower tire pressure - although the tires when check are not low at all; low fuel gauge -although I would have just put gas in the car; a phone number from a person that I already hung up from as still an on-going telephone call; forward collison sensor; rear auto breaking symbol; abs symbol, car crash symbol, warning symbol and words; master warning symbol and words, system malfunction, I took the car two both universal Nissan dealership where I bought the car and glendale Nissan dealership after the lights came on - they always said, the dashboard lights do not come on when I leave my car with them---they cannot duplicate my concern, however they would always clear out pass codes in the car computer systems, which indicates and verifies that the dashboard light was on and which symbol was displayed on the dashboard. No software update was ever offered to me, all things I complained about were consistently denied. Nothing was done to repair this electrical problem or glitch while my car was under warranty -prior to hitting 30,000;the drive car door will sometimes stick and will not open - I will have to exit on the passenger side. Universal Nissan car dealership lied and said I has body work done on the car and they charged me for checking the door. However a few months later glendale and carfax verified I had not ever had any body work done to this car! its cost me to miss work at uber (which is my main income!) for 45 days and have many anxiety attacks. I am paying for a car that is malfunctioning regularly (for nearly 2 years now from brand new at 8 miles -to 50,000), Nissan headquarters will not repair, replace or buy it back. Nissan 2022 Sentra is a scam!.
