The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 to 70 mph, he could hear a loud whistling noise. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic and the contact was advised to replace the rack and pinion. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
Power steering was out when I bought the vehicle. Rack and pinion was also not working. The Nissan dealership dragged their feet before.
