The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the fuel gauge inaccurately displayed the fuel level as empty. The contact had to constantly refuel the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 10v074000 (fuel system, other) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 186,000.
Takata inflators when turning the key it makes a faint click it does not start but when I try it again then it will start the truck is stationary.
I purchased my truck in 2014 from country Ford. Shortly after purchase I had a tire side wall come apart on one of my brand new tires. I took it to country Ford and they refused to fix it. So I took it to good year in southaven ms who said it was a manufactures defect and they explained that to country Ford's general manager who in return finally replaced the tire. Since then I have had all four tires on the ground patched by elaine tire company; total number of patches done were 5 times. The tire repairman stated that rocks had poked holes in the tires in the tread area. It was brought to my attention that all the tires on my truck are passenger rated tires, including the spare which are not designed for my truck, instead of putting lt tires on the truck which should be mandatory by all car sales facilities they put 4-ply p-rated tires on my truck which are designed for passenger cars. All trucks should be required to have lt-rated tires with a minimum of at least a 6-ply tire design. These tires almost caused me to crash when the side wall came apart; and if driving on a gravel road can flatten a tire the p-rated tires that easily then they should not be used at all. I have attempted to get country Ford and good year to replace these dangerous tires several times with a proper lt-rated tire. They both refused stating “the tires should be sufficient enough to do what ever I wanted to do”. Evidently they are worthless for everyday simple driving, if the can be flattened with a rock.
I bought a Nissan Titan 2008 6 weeks ago that had 5 brand new good year Titan tires put on at purchase; 4 on the truck one on the spare. Within 3 days of each other 2 went flat. The first was ruled as a factory defect by the tire repair shop. The second the shop was not sure, it had a hole in the tread area but had no nail or any other cause of puncture. Anyway he recommended that I take it back to the dealers ship to get the tires adjusted and replaced. They refused to do so and not knowing that I use to work on tires myself proceeded to blame me for the flats. I informed the man he was wrong and he said I could take it to a good year service center for a second opinion; which I did. Good year said the same thing as the original tire guy, "factory defect" he also stated I had "p" rated tires on my Titan and in his opinion I should have "lt" rated tires on my truck. These flats occurred with my truck setting in the driveway thank god. The dealership was country Ford of southaven ms. The man who lied to me and accused me of being at fault was named truitt. The good year man said when he spoke to them he was told by another guy that they wouldn't resolved the tire issue because they had 4 months of adjustments they had not been paid for yet. That is not my problem; now since they are the ones who put the p rated car tires on my truck; and not lt rated truck tires they have put me and anyone else riding with me as well as anyone driving near me in danger. I had two flats in 3 days on tires that have less than 2000 miles on them.
The heat works on and off. After the truck is warmed up, the heat will not work. This happens frequently while using the heat.
The wiring harness in the king cab version frays and sets off the airbag light. There is a recall on certain Nissan Titans, but they are before this model year. Nissan obviously didn't change anything because I read about this all over the internet, yet no one can get the harness as part of a recall because it doesn't cover our model year.
On the 2008 Nissan Titan there is a design flaw that may cause injury or death. The headlamps and turn signal are on the same switch. When signaling a turn the headlight position changes. When operating the vehicle at night this is especially dangerous as you will lose all exterior and interior lights. It is confusing to the operator of the vehicle as the operator must react rapidly to locate the switch and regain some idea of the location of the vehicle. In addition operators of oncoming vehicles may be confused by the headlights flashing on/off. The defect has other accident possibilities as the switch may have gone to the off position during daylight hours and the automatic switch would not operate as expected leaving a person traveling past the twilight hours with out road lights.
