general problems of the 2016 Nissan Titan

I was driving down the freeway on cruise,when all of a sudden,the vehicle started vibrating and shaking violently. This happened in the middle of a downpour,and the tires broke loose momentarily,but I was able to gain control,and safely pull on to the shoulder. After searching the internet,this incident sounds very much like a broken crankshaft,as described in the many,many reports of this type of failure,especialy in the 2016 model years,like mine.

Driving down the interstate 2 days in a row cruise control 72 mph and go into reduced engine power. I believe it is the egr cooler as well as many other people’s are having the same issue.

Vehicle hesitates at acceleration. Also known as dead pedal. Going through an intersection, hit the gas pedal and nothing for 2-3 zeconds.

Loud rattle/knocking from engine while driving. Truck shut down with no advanced warning and would not start or turn over. Got off road and had vehicle towed. 2 different diesel mechanics suspect broken crankshaft.

I am the owner of a 2016 Nissan Titan xd, which has a 5. 0 diesel engine. I have concerns reading about the current status of a preliminary investigation by your agency regarding the crankshaft breakdown while driving without or warning. My vehicle has 57,000 miles, and while I still have not suffered breakdown I do have concerns on the safe driving this Titan xd. I purchased this vehicle to travel towing a travel trailer, and traveling with our grandchildren. I reading what other Titan owners have indicated, I now have concern on the safety of traveling in highways and suffering such a breakdown. I also travel on mountain roads to reach vacation sites around our area, and having no control in such conditions make me unsure of the safe travels. I worry on my $52,000 investment may be non dependable, or unsafe to use. I am requesting a your agency find a conclusion to the investigation as soon as possible, as the safety of owners, and other drivers could be in danger. The vehicle is loosing power when making a sharp right turn. It's like the engine is cutting off from it power source and you feel the engine is stall ready to cut off. Then, regain power few seconds later. This doesn't happen on the highway at when driving at very high speed. It happened on local road between 30 to 50 mph.

Vehicle won't properly accelerate especially when making turns. Vehicle is ventilating diesel exhaust gases into cabin when heating or cooling system is on.

When accelerating the vehicle gets stuck at apx 30rpm. It will stop complete acceleration for apx a minute and then will pick up speed. This continues to happen and has almost put me in two accidents getting hit at intersection and entering on to a ramp, and stalling in traffic on a busy street. I have reported to west texas Nissan and corporate. The vehicle was returned once to me without correcting it and it did it again with a mechanic test driving with me. It is currently in dealership again for the last 40 plus days with them saying they cant detect what it is. I would mention a new engine had to be replaced on this truck with in a month of new purchase. This issue is a safety concern yet Nissan continues to say they cant pick up a code for it. I have videos of it happening and a Nissan mechanic that drove it with me.

I'm getting exhaust diesel fumes in the cab. It occurs when driving slow and when idling. Not only my truck but the truck I test drove at a different dealership. The purchase was 12/24/2016. I brought the Titan back to them and all I'm getting is lack of accountability. The statement to me in writing was that when the regen sytem activates fumes are getting into the cab. When I called penke auto groub in michigan and Nissan national both representatives said they will contant me before noon the next day. Not one of them responded back to me. According to the service manager at Nissan in west warwick ri. Is that Nissan will be putting a bulletins out in the next 6 weeks and another out in April. I was told not to use the fresh air and use recirculation botton. This is clearly is irresponsible by Nissan of my legitimate compliant and a health, especially a safety issue to the motoring public. I drive tractor trailer for a living. If an dot officer inspects my vehicle and finds a exhaust leaking into the cab I'm immediately put out of service.
