Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph a loud explosion was heard and smoke was present inside the vehicle. After stopping to investigate it was discovered that the front driver seat side air bag had erroneously deployed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer leckner Nissan (8569 baltimore national pike. Ellicott city) were both notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 70,000. Jft.
I'm just curious as to this newest recall Nissan has issues for certain Versa sedans and hatchbacks. You see, both my front passenger and front driver (steering column) airbags both had to be replaced due to a recall. Now, the side air bags are beginning to show up on the recall list yet when I enter my VIN, it shows no active recalls. I'm not really a betting woman but I will say that if my driver and passenger were replaced, wouldn't it stand to reason that the side airbags should probably be included in this newest recall Nissan has put out? I got two side airbags. One on my driver and one on my passenger. And I don't want little metal fragments exploding in my face if impact comes to my car. Please let me know as it can take a while for my dealership to get the parts needed to replace the airbags. You know if two out of the four airbags have already been recalled, chances are the other two are next.
Takata recall I was informed last week via a letter that I have two recalls on my vehicle. So I did what Nissan told me to do and went to a dealership, to pick up a loaner vehicle provided from Nissan. We went through all of the paperwork and they informed me that the driver side airbag will not be available until spring 2018. I accepted this fact and was willing to accept their loaner vehicle and bring my car home and not drive it. When we got to the rental agreement they informed me I would not be able to use the vehicle for lyft or uber driving, lyft is my main source of income and I have no other option. I am also a driver for amazon flex and I'm leaving pizza hut. When I went to sign the rental agreement they informed me that I would not be able to use their vehicle for my job. Also they informed me that I would need to contact Nissan for it to be approved to be able to use the vehicle for commercial purposes. This is my only means of transportation and income. So I contacted Nissan and the person I was connected with escalated my case to a regional Nissan manager. The second person called me back within a few hours and informed me that I would not be able to use the vehicle for my job, and that if I choose to continue to drive my current vehicle I would be relinquishing any rights if the airbags were to harm me. So I either choose to accept their loaner vehicle and find a new job, or refuse the car and drive my current vehicle with airbags that might harm me and or occupants of my vehicle. While I was at the dealership I attempted everything I possibly could I even asked if they would be able to accept my car as a trade in they denied to this because of the airbags. So I have the choice of changing careers or continue to drive a car that could possibly injure me or any occupants. I was informed to contact the NHTSA by the dealership I purchased my car from.
"takata recall" I have been told by the Nissan dealership in canton, michigan that they wont have the airbag parts until March 2018. It is the drivers side airbag and I need the car to go to work each day; however, I am afraid to drive it but have no choice.
I purchased this vehicle used and was informed that the manufacturer needed to replace the passenger side airbags. I made several appointments and they were all cancelled stating that they did not have the part and that they part wouldn't be available until spring 2018.
Takata recall. Got a recall notice from Nissan. Said don't allow anyone to sit in passenger side of car. Called van nuys Nissan multiple times for 2 years until they finally could repair it. Three months pass without that omnipresent stress. Then another recall notice arrives about driver's side air bag. Says parts not available until spring 2018. Similar message to before. I have no expectation they will be able to repair my car by then. Afraid to drive but this is my only car. I do work at home so drive less than other people, but I can't stay home 100% of the time. Nissan should replace these vehicles. People have died.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the front passenger side air bag was repaired per an unknown recall. Regarding the driver's side air bag recall, the dealer (sutherlin Nissan of fort pierce, 4815 us-1, fort pierce, FL 34982, (772) 924-2668) was uncertain as to when the parts would be supplied. The manufacturer was contacted to determine when the parts would be supplied to the dealer to receive the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. While driving 30 mph approaching an intersection, the contact heard a loud explosion. The contact discovered that the front and rear passenger side air bags deployed without warning or reason. Nissan ellicott city (8569 baltimore national pike, ellicott city, MD 21043, (410) 465-5550) repaired the front passenger air bag in 2016 or 2017, but the failure recurred with the side and rear passenger air bags. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the parts were not available. The manufacturer provided case number: 35865693. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
Nissan Versa 2007-> travelling on a hwy approximate speed 110 kms/hour, sliding off the road and over stearing my vehicle resulting in 8. 5 rollovers. My passenger air bags deployed above head panel succeeded only if there was passenger in my vehicle. Long story short, why were my driver bags, steering wheel, side head panel not deployed? this happened a couple days ago. Single vehicle accident. Im the only occupant in the vehicle. This investigation is going on. Prior to this accident. The door sounded hallow when it was shut and not really a firm solid shut like most doors. Sounded more like and old rusted 85 chevy silverado door like an empty echo inside sound. Could this car been tampered with before? carfax can only prove it if it was properly done and submitted. Perhaps a person who knew how to fix it with out submitting information to properly secure a non accident history report. Lemon for sure on the air bag issue. I can only say that its good to be alive and see my kids again.
At approximately 4:15pm I was driving east in a 2007 Nissan Versa on sr 18 at a speed of 35 mph. A truck ran a stop sign going south and I collided with his passengers side rear between the extended cab and bed. The collision caused significant damage to the front end of my vehicle. It also caused my transmission to shift or be pushed back because I can not put it into drive. Also, I believe my drive shaft was also damaged because I cannot take my keys out of the ignition. With this significant amount of damage and the speed of travel my complaint is that my vehicles airbags did not deploy.
I own a 2007 Nissan Versa, which was reareneded. I was pushed forward and rearended the car in front of me. Both ends of my car were pushed in, but the airbag never deployed. My Versa was found to be told by both insurance companies.
I purchased a 2007 Nissan Versa in July of 2006; 3 weeks later the passenger side air bag cover came off the dashboard. Took it to the dealer ship and they pushed it back in and order a new one. They said it wasn't a safety concern. They new back took about 2 months to arrive. They replaced it and a bout a week later the air bag cover came off the dash board again. Went back to the dealer ship and they kept it for a 2 days and they told me they had screwed/ bolted down the air bag to the inside of the dash board. Last week I called them because the cover came off once again and they called a field engineer to come take a look at the car, meanwhile they say is safe to drive the car like it is right now. Should I be concerned of the air bag cover exposed like it is? sense this is the 3rd time am really concerned about the safety of my family in case the bag deploys.
