Three problems related to transmission gear slipping have been reported for the 2014 Nissan Versa. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The cvt transmission has been known since 2004 to have major problems. The car needs a new transmission it has been slipping when driving and it wont down shift when you get going. Nissan has many lawsuits against them but they wont help me at all.
I recieved the car with a damaged heat shield. I was told that it was fixed yet continued to have problems with it. Lately I have had axel seal leak issues as well as transmission slippage when accelerating.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the gears had slipped several times upon changing gears with no warning. The contact also indicated that while traveling approximately 20 mph, there was a sudden loss of power, the steering wheel was completely tight and the vehicle stalled. The contact had to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road, turned of the vehicle and was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they also provided no remedy but indicated that they would cover towing the vehicle back to the dealer if the failure recurrs. The dealer gave the vehicle back to the contact, it was not repaired and the condition may recurr again. The contact was included in NHTSA campaign id number: 15v507000 (service brakes, hydraulic , vehicle speed control) and was unable to determine when the repair would be completed by the dealer and the dealer was to schedule the recall repair mid October 2015. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.
