Tl the contact owns a 2010 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the locks were not working on the hatchback. While the vehicle was in motion, the locks would lock and unlock without the contact doing anything. Also, the odometer and fuel gauge were flickering and not providing a correct reading. The vehicle was taken to car-mart of texarkana (3015 summerhill rd, texarkana, TX 75503, (903) 792-4298) where it was recommended that the lock motor be replaced. The dealer stated that they would repair the odometer, but admitted that they basically rolled it back. The contact also stated that the mileage reading changed to time. The vehicle was purchased in March of 2019. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, the contact received an unknown recall notice regarding the air bags. She took the vehicle to an unknown Nissan dealer to have the recall repair completed. The contact mentioned that the dealer did not let her see the paperwork for the sale until after she signed for the purchase. The failure mileage was 113,329.

Front door power lock cable broken in actuator for second time in 3 years. Actions: driver opens door using interior door handle while at the same time removing the key from the ignition and activating the automatic unlocking of all car doors. Result: front door lock cable broken in actuator. Now the driver door stays locked while all the other doors are unlocked using the keyfob. This is a safety issue because I have to open my window to open the driver door using the outdoor handle and could not get out in an emergency. First incident was in 2011, it was fixed under the car original 3 year/36000 miles warranty. 2nd incident Nov 28 2013. Nissan estimates $295 to replace the actuator + cable.

We bought the basic model of the 2010 Nissan Versa. Our chief complaint is the fact there is only one lock and it is on the driver's side door. I am disabled therefore when I come back from the store or some appointment etc or have my grandchildren or other children from the family, I have found that either someone has parked too close to open the door ( many times and when you are in pain the last thing you want to do in the rain or 90+ weather is wait for someone to come out and move a vehicle when you hurt too bad to walk back wherever you are) or the other problem is leaving children unattended while reaching thru to unlock the passenger door because you actually have to physically get in to reach the other lock. You don't want kids walking across cloth seats with dirty shoes. We need keylocks put on the passenger side doors. It is a matter of safety if anything else. What if there is an emergency and you cannot unlock your car door? we don't like power locks because of the grandkids and children we have with us their ages. But we won't buy another Nissan product if you can only enter one door.

The side panels on both front doors of our four door sedan do not illuminate, so at night we cannot locate the unlock/lock tabs (or the power window tabs). Because of this of lack of illumination, whenever it is dark we are unable to locate the unlock tabs, thus inhibiting our ability to exit the vehicle. This is a safety hazard because in the case of emergency, we will not be able to exit from the vehicle quickly and safely. (please note that the side panels do light on our other 2012 Versa, which is a hatchback. ) I have written three letters and spoken to four Nissan customer relations representatives---and each says that Nissan will not retro-fit the door panels and that we have to find a solution to this concern on our own. Because all the doors lock automatically once the car is driven, I believe that the unlock/lock tabs need to be illuminated that driver and passenger can quickly see the unlock tabs so we can get out of the car. We are literally locked into our car and in actuality cannot see to get out of our car whenever it is dark.

Elderly, disabled and small children should never have to be left unattended in order to access a vehicle.
