On three separate occasions while driving, my driver seatbelt has come unbuckled on it's own. Most recently today. It also sometimes sticks and is difficult to unbuckle.

As a result the vehicle got rear ended by two other vehicles. The air bags did not deploy the driver and passenger seat fractured and seat belt became inoperable. The vehicle was towed. The contact stated both her and her husband sustained injuries to the head, shoulders, back, jaw. And left leg. Medical attention was required. The contact stated that a police report was filed but it is not available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. New Versa delivered 8/16/2024. Rear seat belt alarm will not chime when 1,2, or 3 passenger(s) are seated in the rear without fastening their seatbelts. However when passenger(s) do buckle in properly, the alarm falsely and unnecessarily chimes for 45+ seconds.
Seatbelt on driver's side didn't lock. Seatbelt on passenger side did lock no one riding there. A deer jumped right in front of me going 55mph air came out but I didn't get any powder burns and seatbelt pulled all the way out. I'm a small woman lucky I didn't go through the windshield.
The airbag light is stuck on solid(its accessable). The seatbelts lock without toucking them(its accessable). The trunk wont unlock electrical problem through wire harness(its accessable) my safety and everyone else safety is in danger with these recalls that the dealer wont acknowledge on my 2007 Nissan Versa still in 2022. The problems are on all Nissan Versa models through 2007 - 2012 have been confirmed by dealer and my vehicle is a 2007 Nissan Versa hatchback and it says theres no recalls for my VIN which Nissan needs to be sued for this or actually fix there recalls. My vehicle has not been inspected by dealer, police, or insurance. But it has been checked by professional mechanics. No lights before problem started. Just came on out of no where airbag light never blinks just stays on solid after car is turned on. And the trunk worked just fine for 15 years until yesterday. The trunk has some electrical problem after mechanic inspected it. Fix these problems. My safety is in danger and so is everyone else.
The passenger seat belt keeps locking up anytime me and my wife put the seat belt on. For the seat belt to loosen we have to unclip the seat belt but anytime we even stretch the seat belt and then put it back in the clip it tightens up again. This is when we are stationary and not moving but it also happens even when we are just driving and I’m not even pressing the brake pedal when it happens.
I was involved in a auto accident , air bags didn't deploy and seat popped off & started smoking .
Tl the contact owns a 2020 Nissan Versa. The contact stated the driver's side seat belt failed to release when the button was depressed. There was an abnormal noise detected from the seat. Nissan vehicle was on a main city road in motion and then slowing down to traffics change in speed when rear ended. As soon as vehicle was rear ended, brakes were pressed to prevent further collisions with vehicles up forward. My vehicle seatbelts failed to restrain driver and all passengers wearing them during a collision. Two passengers in the back were children. One child had a convertible car seat, saving them and fully restraining them to seat. The second child was in a booster seat and whiplashed completely forward and back nearly hitting head behind drivers seat. The driver locked their arms in place to prevent hitting the steering wheel. The front passenger, myself, hit the area of the glove compartment and suffered a small but deep gash on the forehead. This required sutures to close womb up. No air bags deployed when impact to vehicle was made. Airbags were replaced when recall to vehicle airbags were made in the past.
Air bag alert signal will not go off. Seat belt light indicator will not go out.

Seat belt light and air bag light never goes off even when after buckled in.
Speedometer some times stop working, and driver seat belt is loose and don't retracts by it self.
The driver seat belt is loose.
Passenger airbag warning light (warning that the airbags are off) is constantly on; no matter if no one, an adult, or a child is is in the passenger seat. Occurs when vehicle is idle or in motion. Seat belt warning light (warning that seat belts are not being used by driver or passengers) was constantly on, even though driver did wear a seat belt & no passengers were in vehicle. Spontaneously corrected itself; currently have no issue.
I was reaching for something in my glove box with my seat belt fastened when my belt broke at the connection to the frame. It looks like it was just glued and the glue came loose. The vehicle was in motion at the time.
Owner notification the front driver and passenger air bag inflator can explode in a crash which could result in metal shrapnel striking or other occupants in the vehicle, wich could cause serious injury or death, and the dealer falls or is unable to make the necesary repairs free.
I was driving on the interstate. Traffic was slowing down, I took my foot off accelerator to slow with traffic ahead of me. The car infront of me stopped abruptly and my car wouldnt stop. My brake peddal wa all the way to the floor. Car didnt stop til I hit another car. Ari bags didnt deploy and my seat belt didnt lock. Resulted in left hand injury and chest hitting steering wheel( bruised chest).
Vehicle is 3 years young had to replace headlight, starter, when air condition in use it emits moldy odor.
My car was in park , when I got in and shut driver's door the airbags exploded hurting my eyes and neck. Still dealing with Nissan for 18 months and still not even looked at.
When driving passenger seat belt randomly disengages from lock. I will even make sure it is fully engaged before taking off by pulling on the belt and it will still randomly become unlocked. This has been going on for about a year now and it is slowly becoming more consistent. No modifications have been done and lock appears to be cleaned and in good shape.

I had on the heater, I was driving on the freeway and my car started to shake there was a burning smell a loud pop sound and then I span out of control into a ditch. I was living in sacramento, CA about to get off the highway to pick someone up from the airport. It was raining, but not hard at all.
Pleace help Nissan mo respond my call.
Takata recall for the last 5 months my passenger airbag light is on and my seat belt on driver side keeps on flashing even though seatbelt is buckled in correctly also my tire light keeps flashing often.
Dear sir, Nissan corporate has been very rude and purposely mis-representing information with regards to putting us in an alternative vehicle since the recall. The are also refusing to honor a driver side seat belt warranty, the seat belt being stuck in it's buckle. On 11/1/2017 we were advised to not drive our Versa any more in a phone call from Nissan. The local dealer then told us to call back again the following day, as the person who is supposed to give us paperwork is on leave. We insisted and then a service technician told us to call enterprise and reserve a car. Enterprise sent us back to Nissan dealer for a purchase order. Finally with run around, another service tech gave us the papwerwork for the loaner car. We called enterprise again to book the car and got their at the 5:00 pm, when the car was reserved. It took 90 minutes for enterprise to get the car after which service manager reneeta refuesed to give us a car until we paid a deposit. She persisted and suggested that if we did not buy insurance, the smallest dent on the car will come off our personal insurance deductible, even if not our fault. I am at loss on why we should be paying such deposits or be harrassed be the Nissan dealer and rental car for a recall and why is Nissan offerring customers a loaner and then harress them so that customer give up on taking the loaner. I will call NHTSA tomorrow to formally request an investigation on the same. Nissan corporate contact : deandra : (615) 725 7545 enterprise : reneeta & terence clark - terence. Clark@ehi. Com town center Nissan contact : dominic please help! thanks, ashish.
I purchased my 2017 Nissan Versa in September 11th, 2017. Within 2 weeks, I began having brake issues. The car would screech when slowing down and make almost a grinding sound when making a hard brake. I took it to the dealer who I purchased the car from (abc Nissan) and they twice refused to fix it. Than I drove across town to another dealer (midway Nissan) who admitted that it was a known defect and said it simply needed more grease. About a week after being fixed, the problem continued. Two weeks later, I was on the freeway and attempting to slow down to stopped traffic when the brakes locked up and would not allow me to stop. I attempted to steer in the direction of the side lane, but was unable to avoid the collision with the car in front of me. The airbags immediately deployed and although no serious injuries occurred, I found that some papers I had in the car had somehow been torn. Although I was wearing a seat belt, my seat belt was nowhere to be found. I am glad I am alive and I am thankful that I was not injured (other than very minor knee injury) but I feel that both the brakes and the air bags present significant safety concerns. Previous years of Nissans have been recalled for the brake issues. My car only had 24 miles when I purchased the car and the brakes locked up and failed at 3,000 miles.
Takata recall I am having difficulty with the recall process, primarily receiving a return call from dealership after calling on four different occasions; and receiving alternate transportation option because "all 35 loaner cars had been already given out". I do not want to drive this vehicle due to the serious nature of the recalls, however I have not been able to rectify this situation with local dealerships. Please help.
The contact owned a 2017 Nissan Versa. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle was involved in a chain reaction crash. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to slow down. The contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle, which then crashed into the preceding vehicle. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts failed to function as intended. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a bruised chest and fractured ribs, which required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
I bought a brand new 2017 Nissan Versa note. Drove it straight home. Opened the hatch and saw the passingers rear seat latch was unlocked. Tipped seat forward and found the seat belt was stuck in the lach and damaged. The dealer was notified and he said they will replace the seat belt. But that will not stop it from happening. The seat belt hangs loose and needs to have some sort of holder to keep it firm against the side panel to avoid the seat belt falling into the latch area and getting stuck in the latch and causing the seat not to latch and damaging the seat belt. The dealer said he looked at an identical vehicle on the lot and found that vehicle had same exact issue and damaged that seat belt too. He said at this time there is no solution to the problem. There are small notches in the side panel that appear might be for a bracket or some type of strap. But the dealer said there is nothing available and has no idea what those notches are for. This is a safety issue that needs immediate attention. The seat will not latch if belt is jammed in it and it is damaging the seat belts. I can only guess how many seat belts consumers might go through everytime it gets jammed.
The seatbelt was able to easily become disengated by hardly touching the release. There was an auto accident that resulted in the paralysis and eventual death of the driver. The driver was t-boned while making a left turn on a green light at the intersection. The other driver was cited for excessive speed and failure to keep a proper lookout. It is our belief that his forearm brushed the release on the seatbelt and caused the seatbelt to discharge at the time of impact. I have a video better conveying this, but it is comprises too much data to upload on this form.
Airbag. Seat belt light and unknown or other.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. The vehicle was previously serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 07v094000 (seat belts). Upon turning on the vehicle, the seat belt indicator illuminated. Front coil springs making noise saw recall for salt belt region what about California where salt might be used when backing out and also going forward; city streets; turning also seat belt does not retract fully.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to the dealer, where the fuel pump assembly, the lower control arm, and the electronic parking switch were replaced. Additionally, the contact stated while starting the vehicle, the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The vehicle was taken to dealer, where it was diagnosed that cylinder #1 had misfired, and the dealer determined that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a transmission specialist, where the catalytic converter was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the catalytic converter was replaced for a second time. Additionally, the contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the vehicle failed to shift to first gear. The vehicle was towed to another dealer, classic Nissan newport news (12925 jefferson Ave, newport news, va 23608), where the transmission assembly, the ignition coil, and spark plug #1 were replaced. The contact stated while driving after the repair, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while her grandson was occupying the rear passenger's side seat, the seat belt locked and failed to unbuckle. The contact stated that her daughter cut the seat belt and released her grandson. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Airbag red light flashed on 12/15/2016 take car to Nissan of redlands,,c. A. New 1/15 2017 the dealer still no part.
All the airbags not working as indicated lights flashing! recall states passenger airbag could explode causing metal fragments resulting in injury even death. Was informed by Nissan san francisco dealer that there is no fix for the airbag problem yet and they're not responsible for my anything to do with airbags not engaged except for the recall and that there is no fix for currently for the safety recall. In addition, when buying new tire sand getting a wheel alignment, I've been informed that all 4 of my struts are bent and suspension is off as a result.
On September 8, 2016, I was driving and all of a sudden the car's steering violently pulled to the right and when I tried to correct it, the car then turned all of the way to the left, causing the car to roll over several times. Although I had my seat belt on, the pre-tensioners didn't fire to keep me from moving around and hitting my head. None of the airbags went off either, not even the ones on the driver's side curtain where the car was damaged. Afterwards, I went to the doctor and a chiropractor because I hurt my back, neck and my head. I also got a lawyer because I had not done anything wrong while driving. The steering problem just came out of nowhere. Nissan, takata, tkh and my lawyer inspected the car in March and found that none of the air bags went off, the seat belt pre-tensioners didn't activate, the car's vehicle speed sensor had a fault code, the car's intake air temperature sensor had a fault code and Nissan's engineer that was there was unable to access the power steering module with his machine. Next, we found out that the electronic power steering system can shut down due to excessive steering at slow speeds. That is bad because Nissan had a technical service bulletin that said that the car can pull to one side even when aligned based on Nissan's requirements. This means that the reason people have had steering problems is because of the car's design, Nissan's alignment requirements and the car needing to be aligned differently. Also the intake air temperature sensor can cause a car to surge and sputter, this can be why people have had problems with acceleration. There is no reason why the seat belt pretensioners didn't protect me. I also believe that the speedometer recall may be due to the vehicle speed sensor problem. My car was totaled and these things need to be investigated.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. Another vehicle crashed into the rear driver's side of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The passenger side seat belt failed to restrain the passenger. A police report was filed. The driver sustained a torn muscle injury on the right shoulder and the passenger sustained a mild concussion. Both occupants required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 15,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Versa. While driving various speeds, the air bag disabled warning indicator illuminated and the air bag failure warning indicator intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the seat belt retraction was replaced; however, the failures recurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and was informed that the cause of the failure could be the seat belt sensor or a fault in the air bag. The dealer was unsure if the part could be ordered and if the vehicle could be serviced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 07v094000 (seat belts). The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.
I would like to report that I purchased a Nissan Versa on April 5, 2015. The night I drove it home I noticed a few problems: first: the seat belt light stays on unless both front seats are buckled even if the drive is the only person in the vehicle. This is cause for the vehicle to not pass state inspection and the dealership I bought it from is telling me they took the car to two different Nissan dealerships and this is proper function for the Nissan Versa. The mechanic from the inspection station and I each called Nissan dealerships as well and each of the dealerships we spoke with said this is in fact incorrect and needs to be fixed. Second: the car is not accelerating or shifting (atleast that is how I described it). I tried to merge into traffic and rpm's moved way up but the car hesitated to move forward once it started to move I had to put on the brakes because traffic was too close. I drove it to west virginia with my young sons in tow and it could not keep up with the flow of traffic and continued to get worse the longer we were on the road or on an incline. The speed limit was 70 mph on interstate 70 and it took a long time to get up to speed. When there was an incline (we were in the mountains) the rpm's would go up to 4,000- 4,500 but the car would stay at 60 mph and lose speed. The dealership called me and was very condescending letting me know they could find no problems with the car. They will not even fix the seat belt warning light even though I can not get my hard tags for the car.
Vehicle was traveling straight on highway when on coming vehicle drifted into our lane. Head on collision ensued. Rear passenger seat belt anchor broke during accident releasing the belted passenger who suffered blunt trauma and was killed. The accident was at under 45 speeds and the front passenger and driver of the oncoming Toyota camery survived with no life threatening conditions.
Me and my spouse were rear ended last night at a red light. Neither of the airbags functioned and her seatbelt didn't hold her to her seat, causing her to impact the dashboard with her face. Her nose is broken and she also has hematomas on her eyes and forehead.
I had to stop real quick to avoid hitting a stray dog running across the street. I fell forward the sterring wheel. My seat belt was loose. The seat belt cover on the driver's side had to be replaced because it popped off and would cut my arms or hands whenever I had to reach in back to lock or unlock back door. That was finally completed approx. 2 weeks ago. By a Nissan dealer. However, it stated on the work order. They did it the best way- they could. Last night, 8/4/2015, I used the seat belt and it was loose when I put it on and never got any tighter, even if I tried to move around the front seat. With or without brakes it never tightens up if I make a sudden stop. . I have other problems with this car, but this is dangerous to me. I contacted the dealer and they refused to work on it-orders from above. My brakes act crazy since they did that recall system and now this(plus my other problems). Seat belts are a must in my car. How can I tell my passengers to wear theirs when mine just hang on me. This is big safety issue.
Car seat belt on passenger side would not open , that is to say that the belt would not come out of the thing in which it is put where you push the red button. Several strangers tried to help but it was locked and passenger was in a very uncomfortable tight situation ( thank god he did not suffocate). And the belt would not come out. Passenger was stuck, until we cut it. We wish for the belt to be replaced by Nissan and should they want a recall -please let us know.
Seat belts do not retract and slip when put on the body.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while in a parking lot, the front passenger seat belt would not retract or un buckle. The driver had to remove the bolts that connected the seat belts to the seat in order to release the passenger. The air bag warning light illuminated after the passenger was released. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000. Oo.
My complaint is that the side impact airbags did not deploy at all nor did the driver's seat belt engage. The incident occurred on my usual way to work. While driving the car through a t intersection and making a left turn, my car was struck by a second car that ran the red light. I was traveling about 20 to 25 mph. I was able to slam on the brake but not much else. The second car impacted the left side front wheel well area which resulted in injuries to myself and front passenger. As stated in the police report, it happened around 3:00 pm with clear weather and a dry road surface. The car was bought near the end of may of 2012.
My car seat belts are not working properly on the passenge side and my air bags warning lights are flashing. I contacted Nissan north America and asked them about any recalls for this car and they said no. . Read more...
The Nissan dealers say that the change of speed in this car cannot be felt, and so does the tv commercial. It isn't true. It is a danger in the streets. Everytime I go to the expressway I have to make sure that there isn't a car any close to be able to enter because when you try to speed a bit, it restrain itself and I already got scared with this experience. Even when you are in the city and you try to speed a bit to change lane, you can feel that in most of the cases it won't let you do it inmediately. I don't know how this car have been approved with 5 stars by the american government as the dealers say. Besides, the driver's seat belt won't go all the way, and you can see that after few blocks driving, it loose a bit more. I bought this car for my teenage daughter, but I cannot put this danger in her hands. I hope I get advisors that help me to get my money back or to be able to change this car and not loosing 5000 as the Nissan proposed me. Unfortunately I cannot afford it anymore.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that when braking abruptly, the seat belt would not catch or hold firmly. The contact would be pushed forward into the steering wheel. The failure would not injure the contact yet she was concerned with the seat belt restraining her in the potential event of a crash. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection nor was the manufacturer contacted to report the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.
Driver side restraint. No resistance on sudden stop. Manufacturer was informed and they did not a thing to correct the problem. Also the dealer has not done anything. Iam afraid that some day I may be propelled through the windshield.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. On August 1, 2007, the contact received safety recall notice number 07v094000 for the seat belts. She felt that there should not have been any recalls for this vehicle because it was advertised as being safe. There had been no failure to date. The current mileage was 4,344.
