One problem related to front seat belt anchorage has been reported for the 2001 Nissan Xterra. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2001 Nissan Xterra based on all problems reported for the 2001 Xterra.
The center seat belt in the rear of the vehicle does not adequately accomodate a child safety seat (in the center of the vehicle). The female strap is too long and will not tighten properly. If you can get it to tighten properly, it is inside the car seat and poses a threat to the child because it is in their back. The child could lean back on it at that point and unfasten the belt. If their was an accident, the belt fastener could come through the cloth part of the car seat and injure the child.
