general problems of the 2002 Nissan Xterra

Service engine soon.

After shifting into reverse, with one foot on the clutch, and one foot on the brake still, my Xterra begins accelerating in reverse though my feet were on the clutch and brake only. My Xterra's brakes only stopped my vehicle after shifting into neutral and then turning off the engine.

I was entering a parking spot at my normal slow speed when suddenly the engine went into an extremely high rev and the Xterra made a sudden lunge forward. In a matter of seconds it slammed into a number of other parked cars. It was as if it had a mind of its own. I can only guess it was a stuck gas pedal, stuck throttle or stuck accelerator. Over the years I have had nothing but american cars, the last several were caravans with no issues of this type. This Nissan is the first foreign car that I have purchased.

I was driving my exterra home and all at once it got loud and a smell of sulpher came out stopped by local shop (monroe) they looked at it and after they all had their laugh said" omg we cannot beliee someone sold this truck in this shape" 1) the pipe at teh converter broke,2) the rust and rot is horrid3) the cob job this so called mechanic did again wow4) the steering is tighting up on me periodically and making it unsafe for me to drive and control the truck. 5 ) gas problems6) code lights you name it7) the running boards broke off littele each day something breaks or goes wrong with it. My grandkids are in this truck daily it is not safe. If there is a recal on the power steering I would like it checked but I would also like to turn this guy in no excuse for this type of work when your selling cars.

I was approaching the 'on' ramp when Xterra pulled to side then flipped over 3x. There are 4 recalls;3 may have contributed to rollover.

The inner ceiling fabric all came loose and I'm now holding it up with staples. I've never had this happen with any other vehicle.

Dear sir/madam: my vehicle has had the following problem/failure of the rearview mirror system, yet the dealer states it my responsible to pay to fix the item regardless of a formally issued service bulletin.
