The vehicle was taken the dealer, who diagnosed that the fuel level sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I have a 2007 Xterra with 42k. I filled it at the gas station and noticed right after leaving the station that the gauge still said a quarter of a tank. So I pulled over and turn off the engine and then restarted it the service engine soon light was on. As I were driving down the road the gauge slowly started rising to the full mark. My car didn't pass state registration with the ses on.
