Purchased mastercraft courser a/t2 265/70r16 tires 9/13/2007, took to mechanic for shimmy, was informed that belts in tires shifted, brought to town fair tire in westfield, MA. Balanced tires sent me on my way, went back 2 weeks later for same problem, was informed that there was a safety concern, however it still cost me $322. 01 with old tires being prorated. I only had 12000 miles on the tires and if it was a safety concern shouldn't the tires been covered under a recall or workmanship warranty. I did check for recalls different size tire had a recall for belt shifting in tire, however this size was not affected by recall. I feel this is a problem and I am very upset that I had to pay for the problem with could have been worse. So in less than two years I had to spend almost $900. 00 with one set being prorated on tires. . . . Very concerned very upset. Please note this was a problem on more than one tire.

I purchased this Xterra in may of 2006. In the past 8 weeks I have had to have my 06 Nissan Xterra towed to the dealer six times for the same issue of not starting. The first time I was told I was out of gas. Since then, I've been told the security module had gone bad, I had corrosion on the battery terminal causing it to go in to stolen mode, the fuel pump had gone bad (replaced twice), and the wiring harness to the fuel pump had a short in it (replaced twice). The dealer says they have not been able to replicate the problem and want to give me my car back without actually finding out the real issue. This is my family vehicle and I do not do any towing or off-road with it. Prior to these issues, my transmission went out at 11k miles and left me stranded on the side of an interstate for over 3 hours while I waited for a tow truck, and have had to have the fuel gauge sensor, catalytic converter, and tire pressure sensors replaced.
Driver noticed that all four wheels had cracks inside and outside. This caused leaks from the tires and unbalance of the vehicle while driving. Driver took vehicle to the dealer, and mechanic determined that the wheels and tires were operating as designed, but a flaw was noticed while inspecting.

Have complained to dealership (east TN Nissan, knoxville) on several occasions that there is significant vibration all over vehicle. Hear intermittent whistling noise--cannot tell if coming from front or rear. I suggested to them it might be a wheel bearing. Dealership insists not. They had me take vehicle to local tire dealer (tires plus, 4901 clinton hwy. , knoxville, TN 37912) after telling me the tires were out-of-round (service rep. Said "vibration due to high road force. "). However, local tire dealer claimed east TN Nissan doesn't know how to balance a tire and said tires were not out of round. They balanced tires and sent me on my way--did say they would "sell me a different tire at a prorated price. " this is "bunk" after paying nearly $30,000 for this vehicle! vibration continues and is worsening!!! dealership offers nothing toward helping me get replacement tires on this vehicle! I am afraid they either did not really do the recall on the rear housing and are jerking me around or else that tires (or possibly wheels!) are out-of-round, and they refuse to accept responsibility!.

All 4 original tires cracked prematurely where the tread met the outside tire wall and within the tread itself.
These tires hydroplaned violently, even at low speed. I almost lost control of the vehicle while driving in wet weather. Many other members of the Xterra owner's club report similar problems with this tire. One member reported to the owner's club website that they caused his vehicle to flip over. I have been complaining to bankston Nissan of irving about the passenger side front seat shaking badly when driven. There first answer on 5/29/02 was there is nothing we can do. The next time I complained the answer was there might be something wrong with the tires or they might be of balance. The last time I took it to them they told me that all Xterra seats shake like that. I took it to urban Nissan for a second opinion they told me within 1 hour that the seat back needs to be replaced. This tells me that the service tech at bankston don't know what they are doing or they are being racist against some races. Dp.
