Two problems related to hydraulic power assist steering system have been reported for the 1999 Oldsmobile 88. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While in stop and go traffic vehicle momentarily lost steering control and brakes for 5 or more second before control was restored, vehicle was taken to dealer for inspection, and informed consumer that nothing could be found.
Power steering gear/rack was leaking and had to be replaced.
