The vehicle was towed to and independent mechanic which diagnosed that the vehicle frame rusted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced failure. Rwk.
The contact owns a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero. The contact stated that while entering a residential driveway, there was an abnormal popping sound heard from the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by a certified mechanic who advised that the steering column was fractured and the fuel lines were cracked which caused fuel to be spilled. The dealer was contacted and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 189,000. The dealer was made aware of the problem.
