1 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

We have the same problem as gm recall 03043 for 2001 Oldsmobile Alero models, but are told our VIN is not included in the recall. Why? we have a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. Turn signals are intermittently inoperative. Directly related to the hazard warning lights. If you mess with the hazards, turning on and off, you maybe might get your turn signals to work intermittently. This is what the recall is directly about, but when our VIN is entered into recall data base, it says no recalls for this VIN. Doesn't make sense to us. Very dangerous to drive without turn signals. Please advise. Matthew.

3 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2013

I recently bought a used 2001 Oldsmobile Alero gl and not even a day later, the turn signals have stopped working. The fuses are still in great shape and the hazard lights still work. I have done my research and have found that a recall was issued for certain VIN #'s for the turn signal relay and hazard light relay to be replaced. Although my VIN is not one of the issued numbers, I am experiencing the same problems. This is a danger when driving and I want my VIN to be investigated for the same recall. I just bought this car and was unaware of these issues. My safety and the safety of my family mean the most, and I can't afford to fix this problem myself when it wasn't caused by me in the beginning. Oldsmobile/gm should be responsible for fixing all affected vehicles and not just the ones in the recall bulletin.

4 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2009

I pressed the hazard button in the dash and the button receded into the dashboard. The lights were flashing. Pressed again to turn them off. The button has fallen out of the hole into the dash and is, of course, impossible to retrieve. So now I have no hazard lights. Lets hope I don' t need them.

5 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem

Horn of the car did not work after service for replacement of flasher unit. No trauma or injury to car. Inspection of car, it was found to be cracked steering wheel at the base and it damaged the horn ring. We were told that we could not drive the car until fixed as unsafe to drive. The dealer stated they had only ever seen 1 other such case in 37 years of service. Car must have had a defective steering wheel which may have caused an accident, injury or death.

7 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2006

Service vehicle soon, trac off light, and abs light took to dealer, out of warranty, private repair shop, cost-$500, grinding noise before lights turned on, dinging, lights went on, it was sensor in left front wheel bearing. Also have replaced front rotors, alternator at 65,000 miles. Key fob doesn''t lock drivers door. Hood on car replaced in 2006 under warranty because of blistering 2002-water leak onto drivers floor, 5 times to dealer, replaced side door gasket, problem had to be solved by replacing windshield gasket. I'm afraid of all these complaints about turn signal failure and hazard light failure and the car just quitting. Trading in this piece of **** as soon as paid off.
