The contact owned a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. The contact stated that while in park, the front passengers side wheel well caught on fire. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed away from the scene to a salvage yard and was deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 220,000.
Several failures of either front brakes or rear brakes requiring complete replacement. Failure happens after less than 20,000 on each set of brakes. There has been at least 3 wheel hub replacements on driver side as well as 2 wheel hub replacements on the passenger side. Both drivers window and passenger window motors have been replaced twice.
Front right wheel broke off from lug bolts. All lug bolts broke off behind the wheel hub.
Front driver side and passenger side wheels were leaking. Dealer had been contacted for replacement wheels, but that did not remedy the problem. Wheels are still leaking. Brakes make noise due to pad and rotor failure. Right front goodyear tire losing air pressure, p225/50r16, dot number 0294302.
