Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 2002 Oldsmobile Alero

The contact owned a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and caused the contact to crash into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to start and was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v400000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

The passenger suffered a severe head injury and received seven stitches. The driver's chest and back were bruised. The weather was not a factor. During a 55 mph collision front air bags did not deploy. Consumer pulled over, and the vehicle was towed to the dealership, who did not resolve the problem.

Consumer stated tha t vehicle was hit from the rear, causing consumer's vehicle to hit another vehicle from the rear. Upon impact, both front air bags did not deploy. Dealer notified.

While driving a rental vehicle at 52 mph, the vehicle hit a snow drift, rolled over and went off the road, then rolled 60 ft. Down an embankment. Driver came out of the seat belt without it disconnecting and the driver's air bag did not deploy.
