I noticed during the thanksgiving holiday 2014 that my turn signals work when they want to . I was turning right and my mom was riding with me when she noticed that my turn signals was not working left or right. So we made it to our doctors appointment and when we were leaving they working . It's weird because by changing the bulbs the turn signals are still going in and out when they want too. And we noticed light fluid leakage but it was not leaking in November when I brought my very own first car for cash and I had the oil changed so I took it back to jiffy lubes and the tech could not find a problem, this week January 21, 2014 my steering wheel is making this strange whistling noise when I make a turn, and my security light has came on and will not go off. So I decided to check the safety gm recall listing for help.

My ignition key comes out of the ignition while my car is running. Called on 10/30/14 @ 2:51 to schedule an appointment I spoke to adam & was told they can't get me in until 12/1/14 and he also told me they have Saturday appointments but they only accept 35 cars and if I was number 36 I would be turned away. This is a vehicle safety issue & I'm having problems with the exact thing your company has recalled my vehicle for and this is not acceptable. Please call me at 708-299-5583.
Driver side strut spring fractured while backing out of driveway.
I have been experiencing fuel smells seeping thru my air vents when I drive and I took my car to the shop several times. Each time the mechanics have told me that my orings and some other items need replacing. These expenses are very costly and I have no job! I've drawn all my unemployment benefits but I need my car to keep being able to search for employment or go to work when I get these temp offers for work!!! I saw my car has been included in a recall, but gm says it's not my car--based on their system of knowing the last 8 digits of my VIN. But I have been experiencing these issues! even when I fill up on gas, the smell is all on my car, on me! I even have to roll down the windows for the first few days after I re-fill!!! can somebody help me???? I am so sick of the virtues in this country! people don't do the right thing for fear of it costing them a dollar!! they don't care about the lives they are impacting--just their [xxx] wallets! excuse my language and choice of verbage, but it really makes me sick! ihave to quit now because it really bothers me to know that between the manufacturers and these automakers, neither wants to value anything over money! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
90,000 miles on car, need to replace bearings for a second time! the system is set up so that when the bearings fail the anti-lock brake system also fails. I have had many problems on ice/water when my system suddenly fails. This car should go much longer on new bearings - this will be my 3rd set.

I am ashamed to say I own a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. I bought it last years as a back-up car, so we would have transportation should one of our newer vehicle have problems. I gave $2000 for it and have spent just as much on repairs. The turn signals only work intermittently though every fuse in it has been replaced. The anti-lock break light on the dash stays on. The front passenger strut broke and blew out the tire in the process. I was fortunate I wasn't killed when this happened. And now the heater blower has started making an awful noise, so it will likely need to be replaced soon. In addition the change oil light stays on, I have had it to numerous shops and no one can determine why it won't reset. The warning lights on the dash from all of this are a considerable distraction as well as all the problems they point to. I am appalled that in the USA we put a stamp of approval on such a horrible vehicle. In my opinion the entire vehicle should be recalled and replaced with one that runs properly. It is absurd and dangerous. I am fortunate I was not going a high speed when either strut broke. . . Oh nearly forgot to mention that the rear driver-side strut also broke just this week. My biggest question is, who's name do I give to my lawyer when I am forced to drive this vehicle and someone is hurt? it is likely, given the hazards that come with this car that eventually something bad will happen. I just pray I won't have to drive it much.

I have a 2001 olds Alero. . . . For two years I have been having trouble with the sensor on my right front tire. The sensor caused my abs and traction control system to fail. After many attempts to get fixed it seems that my bearing was bad. On the day that I got my car fixed 5 cars between 2 dealers were getting the same problem fixed. They were all gm cars. .
I have had an 99' Oldsmobile Alero for 7 years. It has had almost every problem listed on this website. It has had an over heating problem every year since I got it and I have spent thousands in repairs for the cooling system, fuel pump, poor interior manufacturer, ac/heater blower motor settings failure, fuel gauge failure, transmission leakage, poor springs/struts, gear slipping, hard starting, water leaking in from rain under glove compartment, off alignment (set three times in year), poor gas mileage, overheating or running above normal temperature and sudden overheating without notice of gauge lights or sounds. Has had front right caliper failure locking brake pads down against rotor causing burnout of pads, rotor warping, caliper cylinder damage. Has had power steering pump leakage. This car is a lemon and gm should not be allowed to get away with selling unsafe, worthless vehicles. The only reason I still have mine running is because I have put a lot of personal as well as paid labor into its upkeep over the years due to that I cant afford another car.
: the contact stated while driving at various speeds there was a humming noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Additionally, the abs light illuminated, the cruise control became inoperable, a burning smell appeared and the vehicle was loosing water. The dealership inspected the vehicle. The battery, wiring, spark plug wiring and a belt were replaced. The water pump and window switch was replaced. The blower motor needed to cleaned out. The brakes were inoperative updated 05/01/06.
Beginning in November 2004 the consumer began to have problems with the electrical system in the 2004 Oldsmobile Alero. When the vehicle was purchased the air bag light came on. The consumer was concerned that the air bag light will cause the air bags not to deploy in case of an accident. Also, she was concerned that the air bags would deploy when there was no accident. The vehicle has been to the repair shop 6 times due to brake problems. . When the vehicle had 20,000 miles it had to have the rotors turned and brake shoes replaced. The brakes were still making a humming noise. The dealership could not figure out why the vehicle was having problems with the air bag light or with the brakes. The cruise control, door panels, windows were inoperative. The transmission or front axle seal was leaking, the blinkers were blinking too fast, the windshield was leaking, the carpet lining was coming out of the trunk, the engine made a knocking noise, the back trim around the seats didn't fit properly, the ignition switch was replaced, the fuse box was replaced.
This car has many problems but the worst of them is the problem with the front drivers side spring that broke in half while the car was moving. I was able to control the car before hitting any other drivers. The car doesn't even have 70k on it and the spring should last much longer than that. The struts are also shot and the mounting plates also need to be replaced. The car also vibrates and pulss to the left if you have to apply the brakes while driving over 50mph. Sometimes the power windows also quit working for no reason. Also when you first take off in the car in the morning there is a loud gringing noise coming from the front brakes. I had the brakes checked several times and nobody can find anything wrong with them. Since having this car I have had a lot of problems with it. The car is only 4 1/2 years old. I remember when a car would last you a good 15 years if your took care of it. What happen to quality. No wonder the japanesse are doing so well!.
The steering wheel shakes while driving at 60-75 mph, on relatively smooth roads. The vibration can sometimes be felt through the floor on the drivers side, and the driver and passenger seats. The severity and location (steering wheel/seats/floor) of the shaking varies with different roads, but never goes away completely, even on newly resurfaced highways. On surface streets (50 mph and less), the shaking is not noticeable. This has most likely lead to a lot of the minor squeaks and rattles in the interior that make the car sound and feel older than it is. I replaced the original tires at about 40,000 miles, and recently had the new tires rotated and balanced, but the problem persists. I have not yet taken the car to the dealer to repair this, since I am still recovering from $1700 worth of repairs I had done to fix the head gasket leak and replace upper strut mounts. This could be a very nice car, if it wasnt for the number of large (and expensive) repairs needed so early in the cars life.

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero. The car has been a continuous problem since I drove it off the lot. The suspension has failed, the fuel injector and alternator have been replaced, the electrical system malfunctions all the time, and problems continue to develop on an almost monthly basis. I contacted Oldsmobile and they could care less, referring me to the "dealer" who has been repairing this vehicle repeatedly. I see why Oldsmobile is going out of business. They're products are inferior, and border on dangerous. I'm just hoping this car does not malfunction seriously while I'm on the highway. The incident date below is the approximate most recent repair date. The dates of various incidents are too numerous to list.
Strut bracket needs to be replaced on a 2 year old vehicle with under 45,000 miles. Dealer was uncoorperative in resolving necessary repair.
Vehicle has been making a rubbing/squealing noise while driving, vehicle has been to two different dealers and the problem is still occurring.
While driving at 50mph or over steering wheel will shake vigorously, almost lost control of vehicle.
When brakes are applied steering wheel vibrates. Dealer has inspected vehicle, and was not able to duplicate problem.
Car vibraties when driving at highway speeds of 55mph or greater. Dealer says it's road noise when returned a 4th time.
When vehicle is going at a fast pace and brakes are gently pressed, vehicle starts to vibrate very loudly and shake. This causes difficulty for consumer to slowdown while coming off an exit or highway, and may result in an automobile accident.
Bought car new with 23miles. In less than 3 mths, front strut had to be replaced. Car now has 21000miles and have also had rotors sanded at least 3 times, eventually replaced. Gear shift broke right off, stuck in parking lot unable to shift. Exterior paint mouldins at door/window closure chipped away, had to be replaced. Front passenger dash leaking water, fixed. Driver&passenger door /floor mouldings leaking water, fixed. Blinkers worked whenever they felt like it,fixed. Shaking when trying to stop over 35mph. Pulling to the left over 35mph. Please look into!! this is not what I had in mind when I bought a new car. I have 1 year left on 3/36, what then? I didn't intend on paying $350/a month for a car and $$$ to have it fixed constantly. Nevermind the aggravation of having to bring it to the dealer and be without a car all the time. Just to haveto return with the same problem. If I wanted to be without a car all the time, I could have just taken the bus. They're covering it up. They're making short-term,cheap fixes to major problems, in hopes that our warranties will run out before they have to address the problems. Please look into!! any info will be appreciated.
While driving vehicle and getting up to fifty mph the vehicle shakes very hard, sometimes the low traction light will illuminate on the dash upon hitting a pot hole. Please provide any further information.
While consumer was driving heard a loud ticking noise coming from steering wheel. Dealership is aware of problem. Please provide further information.
While vehicle is being driven extreme vibration occurs. Dealer stated that rims are bent. Please give any further details.
