Hydraulic Power Assist Steering System Problems of Oldsmobile Aurora

2001 Oldsmobile Aurora, the driver stated the power steering temporarily stopped working. Driver lost control, went off the road and struck the concrete divider wall. (ohio traffic crash report # 10-0342-91) updated 08/06/10.

Loss of ability to steer to left in 1997 Aurora.

While driving 15mph or less, lost power steering in vehicle. Dealer can not repair problem because of emission control law. .

While traveling less than 5 mph steering wheel failed to control the direction of vehicle. Dealership examined vehicle and determined power steering unit and rack and pinion steering broke free of frame, causing the problem. Please provide any additional information / documentation.

I am reporting this now because the car is beginning to have the same problem again after being repaired in October 2001. No safety defect listed.

Car looses power steering on slow manuvering turns. Without warning. Intermittently.

While driving led's on the dashboard went off. Also, there was loss of steering, resulting in a collision that totalled vehicle.

Steering failure, when driving complete loss of steering, also cut cable to the airbags and warning lights.

Power steering looses power at low speeds.

My vehicle becomes nearly impossible to complete a right hand turn after driving on wet road or highway. Feels like engine has stopped and power assisted steering is gone, however, eingne has not stopped, steering becomes unresponsive. This happens every time a right hand turn is negotiated.
