Differential Unit problems of the 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada

1 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2003

I just had the transfer case and differential on my 1997 olds Bravada repaired and was driving when I heard a pop sound and saw flames shooting out from the bottom center and rear of my vehicle. I stopped immediately and got everyone out just before the whole thing went up in flames.

2 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2003

There was a burned grease odor coming from the vehicle. The mechanic diagnosed the front differential seal leaked fluid.

3 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2002

Unknown as to beginning date of "pinion seal leak" resulting in vibrations at 45 to 65 miles per hour, and fuel guage inaccurate since around 60,000 miles.

4 Differential Unit problem

Failure Date: 09/01/1999

Problems 1)alternator and battery replaced 2) tensioner replaced 3) battery replaced again 4) harmonic balancer replaced 5) started replaced 6) transfer case, drive shaft, differential replaced 7)gas float has to be replaced to get accurate gas gauge level to list a few of the problems encountered after a year and half of owning.

5 Differential Unit problem

Differential was leaking fluid onto wheel well. Dealer has been notified. The differential was replaced.
