Going about 50 mph on interstate when engine lost power. Had multiple warning lights and messages, including abs and service brakes. Pulled off on exit ramp and stopped on grass completely off travel lane. Tried to restart engine several times with no success. Before I could take other action, I was hit in the left rear by another car, which pushed my vehicle about 50 feet back into the travel lane. Damage to rear quarter panel, bumper, and tailgate. My vehicle had to be towed to dealer. Dealer was able to start on first attempt. No problem found with engine. Only abs code in computer.

6 Gasoline Engine problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2001

My vehicle is the second at this dealer to have this condition. Driving the vehicle like this will cause major engine component failure, per the service manager. They have already replaced the cam phaser and on a second visit, the crank shaft. The service manager told me gm has a major problem on their hands with this condition, and they have run out of ideas on how to repair it. I am trying to get the dealer to take the vehicle back and refund my money. I do not want to be gm's testing ground. A warning needs to be posted so other consumers do not make the same mistake I did.
