1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2015

Traveling apx 5-10 mph down a hwy slowing down and approaching an intersection with traffic light the engine stalled/quit completely and would not restart. I had to push the vehicle with help to the side of the road. After about 15 minutes the engine restarted. This vehicle was recalled for this issue several years ago (rc 04048) and was taken to the dealer by myself on 1/21/05 as soon as I was notified of the recall. Looking at the invoice that I still have in my files today it claims a wire jumper harness and strap was installed. Seems like this fix has failed.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

When turning a corner or in reverse vehicle vibrates/ makes loud noises, and pulls to the right. Also, vehicle hesitates upon acceleration. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide any further information.

Oil leaking from front shock, shock was replaced. Banging noise on drivers side front when going over bumps. Strut was leaking and was replaced. Brakes failed while driving resulting in a rear end collison. Brake pdal feels mushy. Passenger side fog light out. Blown fog lamp bulb replaced. Replaced failed passenger front turn signal bulb. Driver and passenger power mirror will not move left or right. Mirror switch replaced. Front bumper cover is loose and rattles. Grinding, clunking and whining when going over bumps or making turns. Steering shaft replaced. Transmission leaking. Replaced rear main seal, removed 02 sensor and converter due to damage. Surging problem with the engine. Dealer could not duplicate.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

I purchased this car on June 13,2001 and have continual problems with the engine and acceleration of the car. When you accelerate to change lanes the rpms respond, but the car does not accelerate it is as if the link between the two component is malfunctioning. I have had this car for 4months and it has been 17 days in the repair at the dealership. I have concern that with the car instantly dying that I could be the cause of an accident, and result in injury to my family, others on the highway or myself. Oldsmobile needs to research the problem and identify a solution before there is serious injury from this power train failure.
