Unknown Or Other problem #1

I currently own a 2004 olds Bravada with a 4. 2 ltr engine. I noticed a loud ticking noise. I discoveredbthere was a crack in the exhaust manifold. I have never had this happen to any of my cars. Apparently I do not stand alone. I have discovered countless gm owners of this type of vehicle with exact same problem. I think gm should have recalled this defect. I believe if all this is happening it is poisoning our atmosphere with all these exhaust leaks based on poor craftsmanship of this particular product. I think the epa should be made aware of this incident.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

Paint is progressively peeling off the luggage rack. Bodyshop commented "it doesn't look like it was coated/sealed properly, this shouldn't be happening. " transmission: driving on hwy car started smoking out exhaust, exited hwy and car shifted "hard" from stop thru acceleration. Got to aamco shop, they scanned and got an "1870 code". Upon inspection discovered the pump assy was "chewed up and burnt steel. " fluid was being forced out the filler tube and the fluid was black. I was told there was a high danger that the fluid could have ignited. I had absolutely no warning signs that something was wrong with the transmission until the car started smoking. I am a street driver, never have towed or gone off roading in this vehicle so no undue stress or wear has been put on the trans. The response I get from the finance company and the dealer is "it's bad luck, a fluke, etc. And the car isn't under warranty. " I am going to perservere in my efforts to get gm involved and hopefully they will do the right thing.

Transmission_ will not go into reverse and when in drive makes a wineing sound. Other - radiator- heavy rust flushed out radiator 5 times and still have rust along with rusty fluids.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

The paint on the flanges in front of the back wheels is chipping off. This is a common problem on 2002 Bravadas the vehicle is driven only on road and under normal conditions. The dealer just called me and said this is not a warranty item and I should put mud flaps on the vehicle. At this rate, the flanges would be down to bare metal in a short time. This is obviously a paint defect and has been reported in some of the town hall message centers on 2002 Bravadas. I told the dealer his response was unacceptable, but I am getting the run around here. A factory rep is supposed to look at it tomorrow, but the dealer held out little hope. Help.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

Other: replacing the windshield wiper motor engine: a cyclinder on the vehicle cracked and needed a new motor. This is absurd. With a regularly maintained vehicle, with only 5 1/2 years of ownership there should be no reason other than improper casting, metal fatigue, default from the factory that a new motor should have been needed with this kind of mileage.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

Transmission shutter, failure of dash controls, replaced ignition switch 46800 miles brakes out twice in 4 months paint on luggage rack chipping 54562 at 70 mph on cruise shifted by self tolow gear back to high gear then back to low replaced tranny.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

My main problem with this vehicle has been the paint. 2 paint jobs later on the lower half of car - paint still looks like crap. I can see the erosion beginning again on the driver's side on rear door lower where the body flares (design error I've been told). I've notified Oldsmobile who state that it's the environment I'm driving in, not the paint. Why then, does not every car in new england look like mine? I am planning on running boards - don't want to buy them - but trying to save the paint.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

No description.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

The service engine light comes on and 6 different transmissions trouble codes are set in the computer causing the transmission to go into a default mode that causes it not to have a first gear or high gear. The electrical dash gauges moy or may not work at times and the key may or may not come out of the switch when you try and shut the car off. I checked with a gm dealer and talked to the mechanic and as soon as I showed him the trouble codes and the number of times they had came up he told me what the problem was as he had seen it on many other gm cars before.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

On 2-12-1999 my wife was struck from behind by another vehicle and driven into a semi during a whiteout on i94 near marshall, michigan. Auto-owners insurance decided to repair the vehicle over our objections since this involved completely rebuilding the vehicle and installing a new frame. The car was in the body shop 11 weeks and we took possession only when the insurance company said they would only guarantee to repair any future items. Our first noticable objection was that door gaps were 125% greater than others. This led us to inspect the rest of the car very carefully. The following items were of concern. I will only go into what I would consider safety items not cosmetics. Loud vibration which turned out to be hood latchs never secured (this bothered me since it was indicative of other possible flaws from being completely rebuilt by hand. "grabbing" during tight turns - was repaired twice under bulletin 86-74-02 for "launch shudder" - our steering problem is not during takeoff but only the tight turns. The instruments occassionally go wacko and give false readings particularly the overhead. The airbags did not deploy in a crash that destroyed the frame. From all I have read tjhis could reoccur in a future collision and perhaps the inverse could occur and premature deployment result. Both the insurance company and the body shop(olds dealership) have given me letter assuring me they will fix any future defects but not guaranteeing they not occur. Rob the agent at les.
