The contact owns a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada. While driving 30 mph, there was an burning odor under the passenger seat. The contact noticed that the seat was melting from the bottom and was dripping onto the carpet. The contact pulled the fuse box wires from under the passenger seat to prevent the seat from burning; however, the seat was still getting hot. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. In addition, the engine warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 215,000.

Consumer states does not have the latch system in my car. Called the manufacturer and offered to pay to have one put in but manufacturer said that under manufacturer recommendation a latch system in the vehicle, and follow owners manual to install the car seat or purchase a new car seat. All the new car seats have bases on them and that is the kind that the vehicle has.

Product recall involving 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada. The front leather seat was worn to the point that it was cracked, the windshield wipers stopped, the alignment of the wheels were off, there was a broken hinge which was repaired many times and was previously broken, the check engine light had come on, the vehicle pulled to the left when it was driven in reverse and the transmission or the steering made a loud grinding noise. The consumer no longer owns the vehicle.

5 Seats problem of the 1996 Oldsmobile Bravada

Failure Date: 03/15/2002

The windshield wipers worked intermittently or stopped working during operation. Manufacturer was contacted. Feel free to provide any further information. The Bravada's were recalled for faulty windshield wipers. The consumer was not aware that the motor had to be replaced. Also, the rear windshield wiper motor had to be replaced recently. Recall# 98v150000. The drivers seat had come loose due to the pin coming out of the motor bracket, and steam had come from the windshield and there was wetness on the right side floor, and the a/c was replaced.

6 Seats problem of the 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada

Failure Date: 10/05/1998

Heating element located in seat back shorted out or overheated causing right front seat cover to melt. The passenger sitting in the right front seat received very light superficial burns on her back. This could have been more serious if the car had been running for a period of time when the passenger sat down in the seat. It happened on a warm day, and the heating unit was not purposely switched on. The switch to the heating unit is located on the bottom side of the seat. Often it is accidentally kicked on when entering or leaving the vehicle.

The vehicle has faulty mirror would not hold setting, and was reprogrammed. The brakes squeak when backing. The engine light would come on intermittent. The back tailgate door and the back passenger squeaks.
