Whenever the windshield wipers are on delay - they drag across the windshield. So far, I have cleaned the windshield thoroughly with alcohol, window cleaner, and vinegar, as well as the garage has put new wiper blades on, and supposedly replaced the wiper motor due to a recall. . All to no avail.
The windshield wiper on my 1996 olds Bravada started to work intermittently. The problem, as diagnosed by a gm dealer was a faulty wiper control board/module. This is the fault described on gm recall 03023. But I was told that only some of the 1996 Bravadas are covered by this recall (and mine is not). When I first encountered it in June of 2005, I replaced the fuse and everything worked fine for a week or two. Then the problem occurred again, replaced the fuse and everything worked fine for a while. This cycle kept occurring until christmas day 2005 when even replacing the fuse did not help. I do not understand how the same exact problem can be covered on some 96 Bravadas but not on others.

A 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada build in July 2001. The consumer contacted the manufacturer twice, and they told him both times that this vehicle was not included in NHTSA recall 04v289000 due to VIN. Afterwards he contacted the consumer reports, and they sent him a copy of complaint and a copy of the recall notice, the recall copy consumer received said that the built dates of October 2000-2001 were included; his vehicle was built in July 2001. Consumer' vehicle s was not experiencing a similar problem as mentioned in the recall. His vehicle. Also, incident date was the date the report was sent out.

Windshield wipers failed intermittently. People having this problem need to contact general motors (Oldsmobile), I spoke with a woman there, she said they weren't even aware of the problem. Everybody experiencing this problem should contact them because this is a severe hazard and the vehicle needs to be recalled. I had the wiper module replaced (my expense) and the same thing was wrong with it that was wrong with the blazers they had recalled for defective wipers. You can contact them by the following: email: cac@Oldsmobile. Com or call customer service (ask for the manager)@ 1-800-442-6537 Monday through Friday 8:00 to 11:00 eastern time. Please call and let the manufacturer now about this, they said if more people call then maybe it will be recalled!!!! thanks gw.
Consumer stated that without any indication, the windshield wipers stopped working, which resulted in poor visibility. Dealer had been contacted. In heavy rain , the wipers had been on for about 10 minutes and had suddenly gone off. When the vehicle was started again about 15 minutes later thee wipers worked again.
The vehicle had few recalls including inoperative windshield wipers. The back wiper stopped altogether, when making turns the vehicle makes noises and the gauges on the dashboard had gone out and the tail light flickered. Recall campaign #04v046000. The passenger seat belt was inoperative.
Vehicle loses power to dash and all components controlled from dash including windshield wipers I have taken this into my dealer and he told me they couldn't find anything wrong, but they tightened some grounds. This almost caused me to have an accident during a heavy thunder storm when the windshield wipers quit for about 15 seconds at 65-70 miles an hour a vehicle can cover a lot of distance and I was blind for 15 seconds I managed to get over to the shoulder and actually was part way in the ditch when I got stopped. Then the wipers stared up again and will work again for awhile this has happened to me atleast 8 times only once did I almost wreck my vehicle though. The clock always has to be reset when this happens. Windshield wipers were on high setting when they stopped. Dash instruments backlight went dark and gauge needles all went to zero.
The windshield wipers malfunctioned.

Sometimes the windshield wipers work and sometimes they don't. When they do work they usually stop working in the middle of raining. I think this is very dangerous. I know another person that owns a Bravada that has the same problem. The windshield wipers has stopped working while I was riding on the freeway before in the middle of a storm, I could have gotten into a serious accident. I am almost scared to drive when the forecast says rain because you never know when the windshield wipers are going to work.
I bought my vehicle used (about 30,000 miles on it). Roughly 4 months after I bought it the windshield wipers were not working correctly. I would turn them off and they would continue to go, sometimes I would use my sprayers to clean the windshield and the wipes would wipe 14 times (I counted). Sometimes I would turn them on and they wouldn't come on and other times I would turn them off and they would stop right in my viewing area of the windshield. Happened quite frequently.
The pulse windshield did not work properly. It had been recalled by gm. Ph.
Experiencing intermittent windshield wiper operation. Same symptoms experienced with a 1995 GMC jimmy which was covered by a recall. Gm should expand the recall as this seems to be a common issue and a major safety issue.
Intermittently the windshield wipers become inoperable obstructing the drivers view. A recall has been issued on similar makes and models, however this vehicle is not include due to the VIN dealer notified. Ts.
The windshield wipers worked intermittently or stopped working during operation. Manufacturer was contacted. Feel free to provide any further information. The Bravada's were recalled for faulty windshield wipers. The consumer was not aware that the motor had to be replaced. Also, the rear windshield wiper motor had to be replaced recently. Recall# 98v150000. The drivers seat had come loose due to the pin coming out of the motor bracket, and steam had come from the windshield and there was wetness on the right side floor, and the a/c was replaced.
Consumer has had multiple, reoccuring problems with new vehicle since first purchased in October 2001. Car has been returned to dealer more than 12 times in 18 months and has placed significant burden on the owner. Vehicle now has new major mechanical problems with both the engine and transmission. Although the vehicle is still under warranty, the large number of persistent problems classifies this vehicle as unreliable and, more importantly, unsafe. Owner has contacted dealer regarding a replacement vehicle (lemon law), however the dealership has directed the owner to the maker company (gm/Oldsmobile). The maker has responded by insisting that the warranty was designed for such problems and they have referred the owner back to the dealer for continual repairs. In other words, neither the maker nor their representative dealer is willing to assist the owner in resolving the situation. The dealership has since closed due to owner retirement, as well. More than five complaints have been issued to the maker from the owner by either phone, electronically or mail without any positive feeback from the maker or any attempt to rectify the situation. Note: the incident date listed here is simply the purchase date - all incidents have been continous and on going since date of purchase. 2 windshield wiper failures repaired under warranty 1st at 3,973 miles 2nd at 11,660 miles.
Windshield wipers will intermittently work. In conversing with another owner of the same type vehicle, the problem was traced to a poor solder point. There was a small crack in the solder located on the circuit board.
Recall 98v150000; windshield wipers work only intermittently. This vehicle is not included in recall due to VIN.

Whenever I have to use the windshield wipers during a heavy rain, they will quit working and then start back up a little later. This can be dangerous because it could cause visibility trouble and cause a crash.
Windshield wipers to work intermittently, and may result in inoperative windshield wipers. Thus, reducing driver's visibility, and could lead to a vehicle crash. Feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
There is a known safety recall on this problem. TSB number is 98043 . Dealership and Oldsmobile will not repair this problem unless they are payed.
Winsheild wipers fail to turn on, even though I hear a humming noise when turned on. According to alldata. Com, there was a recall on these wipers in 1998, but GMC disputes this information.
Windshield wipers operate intermittently. Dealership has not examined vehicle to determine cause of problem. Please provide any additional information / attachments.
Windshied wipers either won't work at all or stop fail after they have been working. I read in the paper that their is an on-going investigation of this problem with 1997 olds cutlasses and wanted to let you know that it is happening on my car as well.
Today I had to have replaced the connection to the positive side of the battery. The mechanic cut off a bunch of the wire as the corrosion was widespread. Almost everytime I stopped the car and turned the motor off I would have to use a pair of pliers to tighten up the connection to get started. This has happened many times since last summer and I even had the alternator replaced on a road trip because we couldn't start the car and this is what a mechanic said was needed. The problem with the windshield wipers looks like it was covered in a recall but since I purchased the car used I didn't know about the recall when I discovered the problem last winter. I replaced the windshield wiper connections at my mechanic and paid for it. Is there any way to get the money back from the manufacturer? the third problem is that the awd will kick in when I frist start up the car even though there is no need for awd. This wastes gasoline and I don't know how to stop the awd and get it to 2wd.
Windshield wipers experienced the same defect as stated in recall 03v159000. This vehicle was not included in the recall due to the vehicle identification number the windshield wipers were inoperable, they never worked on fast or high. There was an intermittent failure above 75 percent or three out of four tries. Gm refused repair.
The windshield wipers on my Bravada don't always work. I've taken it to a dealership and they have replaced the wiper switch and it still does the same thing. I've taken it back a couple of times and the just tightened everything up and say it is okay. But the wipers still don't work all the time. There really is no rhyme or reason, I thought I had it pinned down to when the engine got hot or when it was hot outside, but even that doesn't always hold true. The dealership thinks I'm crazy and say the wipers are okay. I'm not sure what to do at this point about getting it fixed.
Windshield wipers will intermittently stop during operation, and then start back up again. Dealer has vehicle currently.
