Underhood Wiring problems of the 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Four problems related to underhood wiring have been reported for the 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Underhood Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2004

Vehicle caught on fire under the hood 20 minutes after parking the vehicle. Local fire department arrived to extinguish the fire. Dealer and the manufacturer were not notified at this time.

2 Underhood Wiring problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2003

Consumer had just parked vehicle after driving for approximately 20 miles when it caughton fire under the hood without warning. Dealer was not able to determine cause.

3 Underhood Wiring problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2000

Stalls at any speed. Will start after 4-5 hours. Gm dealers fail to diagnose. Stranded several times. Intrigued I'd say.

4 Underhood Wiring problem

Failure Date: 07/19/1999

Steering rack has a clunking sound when when first moving car & turning the steering wheel plus is hard to turn. Parking lamp socket failed causing bulb to melt & fuse melted plastic inside of socket, which will not allow a replacement bulb to be replaced, bulb fails to light up for turn signals. Air conditioning is poor at best, will not cool car down.
