Two problems related to electrical system have been reported for the 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Within several days of each repair, the compressor just stops working. According to the dealer, the problem is a short in the electrical system which they are unable to locate and repair properly. After three to five hours of waiting each time, all they have done is to replace the blown fuse which promptly blows again within a few days.
Continuous overheating of the controls for the radio/air conditioner/heater/cd player.
