1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2003

2000 Silhouette van - 1ghdx03e7yd215216 - leaked dexcool from a faulty lower intake gasket and shorted out plugs. Repair cost approximately 700 usd. Upon research and advice from our auto mechanic, this is a very common issue with these vehicles however gm refuses to issue a recall. The gaskets are plastic and will fail from 30,000 - 70,000 miles. Our vehicle had 53088 miles at the time. It is difficult to consider buying "american" when the product and support from the american company is so poor.
