Trunk Lid problems of the 1999 Plymouth Breeze

Four problems related to trunk lid have been reported for the 1999 Plymouth Breeze. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Trunk Lid problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2003

I have a leak somewhere in the trunklid area the same as complaint # 877208. After sitting in a rain or snow storm, the lower half of the trunk lining, from the top of the spare tire down, gets soaked with water, with no obvious indication as to where it's coming into the spare tire area. The cover over the spare tire doesn't get wet. After partially removing the trunk lining, found some water on top of trunk near the back seat, but can't be sure that is the problem, or even where it would come from to get on there and no where else.

2 Trunk Lid problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2002

Consumer is unable to close the trunk. Dealer notified. Feel free to provide any further information.

3 Trunk Lid problem

Consumer states that the trunk light had burned a hole in a garment bag through his shirt and jacket that was laying on top of two suitcases. Consumer believes this is a design issue and a fire hazard, since the glove compartment is well shielded, consumer believes that the truck should have a shield as well, consumer is requesting reimbursement.

4 Trunk Lid problem

Trunk would get wet from underneath spare tire. Was not coming from outside of trunk. Will be going to dealership to have problem resolved.
