Six problems related to integrated child seat belt have been reported for the 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The integrated child safety seats are faulty. Recall# 97i001000.
Integrated child seat failed. The consumer stated a recall had been issued. When the consumer contacted the manufacturer they agreed to pay a portion of the repair, but later they rescinded the offer.
While driving the child unlocked his/herself from the integrated child seat.
When removing child from the integral child seat harness retracted up around the child's neck, choking the child. Parent had to cut the strap to remove the child. A dealership was called about the problem. Owner was told van was not included in recall, and would not be serviced free of charge. The problem has not been corrected at this time.
Consumer experiencing problen with integrated child seat latch; latch area becomes contaminated with food while child is eating, causing latch to be difficult to retract after unlatching the belt. Dealer refuses to repair unless cost is picked up by consumer.
Ea97-003, the straps on integral child seat tighten up so tightly on the child that it was impossible to remove child. The safety clip could not be released because of tightness of straps. Straps had to be cut by dealer in order to remove child.
