Eight problems related to windshield wiper/washer have been reported for the 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager windshield wipers start on there own and sometimes cease to funtion when switched on! the wiper wear excessively due to starting on dry glass. Can be a hazard if wipers fail to funtion when needed. Had mechanic checked motor and wiring and in formed that it cound be the body control module but it is a defect from the manufacture a new one could result in the same problem at a cost of over $500. 00! checked on internet and found that this seems to be a common problem with this year vehicle.
Wipers activate when turned off(on sunny days) and do not work in intermittent mode.
Consumer states that while driving in the rain windshield wipers would work intermittently. Dealer notified.
Vehicle wasn't going in gear. Also, windshield wipers would go off intermittently.
Windshield wipers go on and off at random. It can be one time or several times. It is very inconvenient. This has been going on since we purchased the used vehicle in 2000.
Windshield wipers only works on low speed, and can sometimes lock up.
Major inconvenience, wipers activate automatically approx. Every 100 miles.
Wipers come on without activating- during normal driving.
